I was was a regular here for empanadas until my last visit. They have added green peppers to the empanadas which I hate it changed the entire flavor of it. I had a shrimp empanada & a chicken empanada my favorites but was so disappointed. Please go back to the original way of making them or make some without green peppers.
So tried them again about 2 weeks ago & they were great no green peppers I tried them today & there were onions & green peppers I guess it depends on the cook

The empanadas are tasty, the prices are cheap, the service is fast. They are a little greasy so I felt guilty. I know I’ll be back.

I just love the place! Food is delicious and the quipe and yuca ball remind me of my childhood in Brazil. You have to try!!! And it is very dangerous for me now!!! ;-)

Oh damn. Empanadas Monumental has just become the most dangerous place for me to pass on the way home. I mean, who doesn’t love fried Dominican goodness. I’m slowly making my way through the different kinds of fresh made empanadas. And the Bolas de Yuca are so perfectly hot, crisp, and moist, that I want one every morning.
Even better, EM replaced a Papa John’s, so I’m not in mourning like when they took over the old New Caporal store.
