I don’t have much to say about Éclair Bakery, but what you should know is that the eclairs are truly delicious. The variety offered here is quite impressive and the filling is perfect.

The mixed berry and cheesecake is wonderful, not too sweet. It’s perfect and impressive. And the milk chocolate is the best for me. It’s kind of éclair that I can eat more and more. Love it!

Walked over from Rockefeller to this bakery on Friday. My friend just had a baby so I contemplated, flowers or something yummy she will love? Yup, opted for something yummy instead and came here, ha! Very small spot but cute and very clean. About 3 small tables and a counter w/about 4 stools. Since it was during the work day, it wasn’t crowded. So I wandered in and saw all the eclairs, yummy desserts like macarons etc. I read in another review that they had mini eclairs, which they do but you can’t buy individually…*womp womp* The regular sized eclairs are over $ 5…NOT sure why it says $ 4.50 online? Anyway, the mini ones only come assorted in a box for $ 20(about 12– one of each flavor). I opted for the box to bring to my friend. For myself: I decided on an almond croissant and small coffee… ummm WOW thank you to the other Unilocaler for recommending this! It was the amazing in the most simple way. They have a chocolate, almond one for the chocolate lovers out there. I can’t comment on the eclairs because I didn’t have one, but my friend said she enjoyed them! I met a really cute old couple that frequent there and said they enjoy the sandwiches that you can find in the small refrigerated section. Plan on coming back to try the eclairs and maybe a sandwich! The two girls were very sweet in the front counter. We chatted a bit about the coffee they serve, Unilocal, and my day. Ill be back and damn right I’m getting that almond croissant no matter what!

I haven’t physically visited this place yet. However, I have had the eclairs many times. It was always such a special treat when hubby bought them. My favorite part about this place is the mini eclairs! I could have many different flavors in one sitting.

Everyone has tried the eclairs here and 9 out of ten Unilocal reviews are about the eclairs, but what about the other items that are available at the Éclair Factory, huh, huh, yah right? Luckily, I’m the guy looking out for you. I have gone a few times and tried the Carrot Cake, Flan, Coconut Macaroons, Crème Brûlée, and a few others but not as much as I wish since my disposable income isn’t so easily replenished. So here is what I tried; Carrot Cake: Has a glaze on top of the cream cheese, lite on carrot and nuts, the little candy carrot on top was hard, the taste is fine but not fabulous. Cheese Cake: Plane, Plane, Plane cheese cake, no big deal Coconut Macaroons: Good, nut burned or hard like other places but will stick to your teeth. Crème Brûlée: This was good with its sugar shell on top but a the clustered was a little to egg like. Croissant: Was good and flaky, I made a mess when slicing it since I like to put orange marmalade or other jellies. Flan: This flan is more cake like, it stands on its own without a container, dry with no caramel but it was flanee,(I like to me up my own words if you don’t mind). Lemon Tart: This was real good and tangy but sweet, the shell crumbled and was not hard. will get it again. Look like I like the letter C, anyway the staff is always nice and friendly, they jump on you once you are ten feet of the counter. The place is clean with a few tables to sit and they also serve coffee.

The eclairs here are good and they are definitely pretty but not the best, I’d rather go somewhere else and try their eclairs because the lady working at the counter here was so nasty to me today. I wanted to pick up 2 boxes of the sampler for my boyfriend’s father’s birthday and I asked her if there was a type of card to tell us what flavors were inside which they didn’t. She told me she could tell me what the flavors were if I really had to know but her tone made it very clear that my question annoyed her and she did not want to help me at all. Her attitude towards me was totally unacceptable, what if I was buying for someone with a food allergy? On top of that I walked by 2 other girls working on my way in and out and neither of them greeted me or said bye, have a nice day etc or anything along those lines. Clearly these employees are miserable working here. The eclairs are not good enough for me to want to come back after the way she spoke to me. Edit: I see there are a lot of glowing reviews for this place claiming that the staff here is polite, friendly, helpful etc. they are the complete opposite of that, the owner probably paid these people to write these reviews or asked friends and family to write reviews for him because customer service is abysmal.

I love the idea of a bakery that specializes in something so specific as eclairs! The ones here are so delicious, not to mention so pretty. They have a huge selection of different flavors. We tried the cheesecake(my fave) and the nutella one. They’re a little on the pricey side, but worth every penny for a once in a while indulgence or when you want to bring a nice hostess gift or celebration treat to someone. Their pastries look fantastic as well. I can’t wait to go back for more!

Cute small shop of French owners! they have a great selection of eclairs to choose from ranging from chocolatey ones to fruity ones. I got the toasted coconut éclair which is great and not too sweet. Also got a fall fusion hot tea. Which is kinda the Starbucks version of passion fruit tea.

These are THEBEST eclairs! They have so many different flavors to choose from. Although, the best test is their traditional eclairs. Even the original éclair was amazing! The filling was smooth, decadent, but still light and fluffy. Definitely try their new Chocolate, Vanilla and Caramel — it is absolutely amazing!

I’ve been on the hunt for a really good éclair after having it in Seattle recently. I had really high hopes for this place being that it’s in NYC and named the Éclair Bakery… however I was disappointed. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t amazing as I had hoped. I tried both the passion fruit and the hazelnut éclair. Passion fruit was tart and had a hint of passionfruit but it didn’t have enough of that real flavor. The hazelnut was flavorful and was the favorite out of the two. Each éclair was ~$ 4.50. They ran out of the majority of the flavors by 6pm so I was most likely left with their not-so-good flavors. When I come back to NYC, I’ll stop by earlier to try pistachio and other flavors. The bakery itself is small and cozy with really cute staff. The lady that helped me was dancing to the music(hiphop & pop) in the background.

Reviewing Éclair Bakery from the perspective of someone who doesn’t particularly care for eclairs, I surprisingly enjoyed them from here. There was a decent selection to choose from, and I took the liberty to try several of them to form a fair opinion. A few of the ones I tried were Pistachio, Passionfruit, Dulce de Leche and Milk Chocolate, and all I would recommend. The crème/custard filling had a great consistency and was not cloyingly sweet. The flavor pairings were on point and delicious. I did wish the pastry itself was more on the soft side, but then again, what do I know about baking eclairs. Overall, I think Éclair Bakery is the place to go if you’re looking for great eclairs. The hostess(?) was also friendly and helpful.

My second visit and tried the Chestnut Rum Éclair and flan. I like the éclair(except the meringue chunks in top) because it has a strong taste of rum, although it is a little bit too sweet(and hence too sweet for most people). The flan was good, too, but too thick and dry, and the crust cookie at the bottom was really hard that I even couldn’t cut it off(gotta try very hard). I guess this is just their style of flans. But overall, I like their sweets and will become a regular.

Very very good eclairs. They have a wide collection with different flavors and the prices are slightly expensive but this is what you’ve got to pay for some good French treats. The tasting box gives you a mix of 12 mini eclairs and is great to share. The only 2 things I did not like were: — the chocolate éclair had a regular cream inside instead of a chocolate one; — they did not have the coffee flavor éclair which is almost as famous as the chocolate éclair in France.

I was craving something sweet after a highly salty meal and came here. The eclairs are great. It’s not insanely sweet which is a big win for me. I’m not typically a sweet tooth person but these eclairs were just right. At the store front was a showcase of the sampler set, macaroni and a few other items. When you walk in, it’s the seating area. Further into the store was another showcase of their sweet goods. They have cookies and cake and they also serve coffee and tea. The showcase inside is much bigger with a larger variety of eclairs. Each éclair is decorated with a colorful coat of frosting and toppings. It’s very appealing to the eye. I tried the maple pecan, pistachio and the traditional. All of three were delicious. They had their own fillings on the inside. They were light and fluffy, the filling was custard like and it was smooth.

I was just passing by the Éclair Bakery and on a whim stopped by for a takeout order. It’s a modest bakery, selling pastries, tarts, macarons, of course eclairs. Most items were bent towards the French in origin. There are about 5 small tables in a long and narrow room. The bakery is brightly lit and everything definitely looked good in their two display cases. I went directly to the éclair display case and wanted to try the traditional éclair and the maple pecan éclair. What I could say about the eclairs is that their éclair custard is one of the best I’ve ever had. It is very eggy, thick, and modestly sweet. Regarding the actual éclair shell, I found it to be a bit crumbly and doughy, not like the light and flaky shells at Asian bakeries. I tend to like the light and flaky variety, but for those who like the European style, this is the place for you. The traditional éclair has an icing that is not flaky and doesn’t taste like a solid shell of confectioners sugar. It was creamy and good. As for the maple pecan, I didn’t taste much maple syrup in the custard however, the icing and pecans were delicious. All in all, I could recommend Éclair Bakery for those who like European style baked goods. I saw the other items, and must say that they look very well made and reminiscent of what I saw in France many years ago. Each éclair was $ 4.50, an expensive treat, but if that’s your only sweet treat for the day, it’s well worth it.

Wow, this bakery definitely knows what it’s doing. I came in here the other day and came out with practically one of everything. The pastries are so well-made and delicious! They did a really good job with the eclairs — in terms of both texture and flavoring, which I do not often see in the US. Through the glass display cases, I could tell that human-to-pastry attraction was strong. The only item I might not get again would be the cheesecake and berry éclair, because even though the cream was tasty, the pastry part was a bit dry. However, all of the other ones were practically perfect. I especially liked the chestnut éclair and the passionfruit tart. They were completely amazing. I still have some leftover pastries in the fridge(since I had bought like 20 of them). They are still delicious even a few days later. I believe the owner is French, as I could hear him chat with a French customer at the counter. They also serve coffee and have some savory options, like ham and cheese croissants and quiche. There are also a few tables available for seating. This will definitely be one of my go-to bakeries in NYC.

This is really a hidden gem in midtown east and I never knew it until today. As a dessert hunter, how can I miss éclair?! A great variety of selections were presented and I really had a hard time picking any. Eventually I settled down with red velvet and it was so good. Cream inside was not crazily sweet and the size was also about right. Got the passion fruit black tea to accompany my éclair and I liked the combo! Would for sure return. They were decorating the place with tons of Halloween stuff that really cheered me up!

Having grown up in Belgium and traveled extensively to France, I am definitely a dessert snob. I want a pastry to be authentic and really good, not«American-good»(sorry haha). Well, good job Éclair bakery’s chef!!! You managed to please my dad(hardest thing in the world ;-)) with your traditional eclairs, and I can safely say that NEVER have I EVER tasted such an amazing blondie before… I’ve also tried the cheesecake-flavor éclair, it was good but the crust a bit dry. I’m def planning on coming back soon to try their almond croissants!!!

Clean, friendly staff, cute displays, and with seating! The eclairs were a little disappointing. I tried the pistachio flavor. It was more mild in flavor, and the outer shell didn’t taste very fresh. Like it’s been in the fridge for a while, and the cream has made it soggy. The crème brûlée was good. The sugar on top made a nice candy shell. The custard tasty very eggy. I would go back to try the macarons or other pastries, but probably wouldn’t order what I had again.
