My excursion to Flute East side was through a Living Social(LS) deal that unfortunately did not live up to my expected hype of the venue. The entryway have tall bar tables with candles and the walls display various champagne bottles and magnums. The bar had two couples seated but I opted for the couched banquet seating in the rear. My LS selection was a pitcher of white(or red) sangria(more ICE than sangria) and an assorted cheese plate of gouda, manchego and brie accompanied by a small cluster of grapes, a few slices of a baguette and a serving of honey. The LS deal mentioned service for 5 people yet it was barely enough for two. The promo mentioned small plates but the venue had none of the menu items stocked according to the bartender. Really? This was disaapointing as I would’ve liked to supplement the cheese plate as my appetite was present during the pre dinner hour – 630pm. Im glad I didn’t bring more people.

One of my MeetUp groups had an event here and it rocked! The happy hour(HH) specials were great. Even though their on site food selection was limited to small plates I appreciated their recommendation of Marrakesh down the street. The restaurant delivered but I had a few questions so I did the five minute walk down to the restaurant, ordered food to go and brought it back. Kept the drinks flowing and I could not have been more pleased. The DJ on Friday night was great. Not sure if he is the regular DJ but I’m a fan.

Reserved a table for 2 in advance for Valentine’s Day for 35 $. Was so excited about this place. Arrived to the weirdest scene ever, about 3 couples scattered throughout the empty place, so I wasted 35 $ to reserve a table when I walked in to find 6 people and about 10 open tables. The bartenders knew how bizarre this situation was so he assured me «a lot of people cancelled»… riiight. I should have been offered my money back on the spot, as it was painfully obvious how unnecessary it was to ‘reserve a table’. It was so awkward and quiet(except for the strange techno they were playing), I decided to take my 35 $ loss and we left ASAP to salvage what was left of Valentine’s Day(y)

I stopped by quickly for a networking event recently. It was small and relatively quite. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. They had a decent drink selection as well. Being a fan of champagne I would go back.

Terrible waitress, strange music, weird lighting. 2 for 1 drinks on Tuesdays, yummy cocktails.

Went here for a party and it a cute small bar/lounge. I didn’t have any food here so this review excludes the food. The drinks are quite pricy but typical manhattan prices. Nice place, good music for drinks and great company. We had the place for ourselves, it was a group of about 30 – 40 and we played our own music! :)

Had a wonderful time at Flute East last night with five friends. Arrived 6pm-ish and there was no one else there despite and 2-for-1 happy hour(???) and enjoyed a delicious champagne mojito. The bartender was great and chatted with us for a bit. I was very disappointed with the snacks though. I understand that it is a bar and not a restaurant, but the $ 5 truffle popcorn was 1) served in a glass tumbler which is stupid for shared popcorn(you’re basically dumping out popcorn), 2) an extremely small portion, 3) barely truffled in taste(more like they drizzled olive oil with truffle flavor over the top). The $ 18 fruit plate was insulting. Generic Ritz Crackers? Are you kidding me? Right next to a few TINY pieces of mediocre cheese, a few grapes and a sliced strawberry which weren’t especially appealing or tasty, and dates that looked gross — they were not touched. There was a small plate with a tiny dish of honey and a few slices of baguette which wasn’t part of the cheese plate(the one other table had it) but when we asked for more bread we were given a plate of the generic Ritz Crackers, because they ran out of bread. Maybe run out to any of the markets or bakeries within a block and buy more! Over the course of the night there were no more than ten people in the bar. The music was nice and the volume was perfect to have conversations. The bartender graciously let us open separate tabs which was super convenient. Overall it was okay but for the money I spent I shouldn’t have been served store brand saltines!

Just went again the other day with my gf for drinks… again this place is super cute, very trendy, lots of champagne… you can’t NOT feel like a princess here. It’s so great. You have to go.

My bff had a Living Social coupon to this place and so of course I was down or going. It was very romantic, made me want to make out with her — -I kid I kid, but yea it was really mellow, not packed. The waitress was knowledgeable about the drinks and appetizers and would check on me and my frined. The cheese plate was awesome and I wish I had one now for lunch… I see that me and my group of friends will be here a lot during the summer.

3 stars for the champagne. Service was good. My first time at any flute location but I bet the other places do not have a shady vibe. There was something weird going on that I can’t quite my finger on but I did not feel comfortable. I would try the other locations based on the Unilocal reviews.

I am so disappointed in this place. I have been to the one in gramercy and enjoyed the ambiance/drinks so I decided to plan a birthday party at this new location on the east side. I made a reservation for about 20 and asked for the back room couch about a month In advance. I called every week including the day of the party to confirm the number of people and that I definitely had the back room area since this is the nicest spot and represents the ambiance of the place. I even spoke directly to the general manager of the place. When I arrived the night of my birthday at 10 pm, there was NO space available and the staff just apologized and told me they over booked. They sat us by the bar and half my party had to stand. It ruined my night and they did not even attempt to try and fix the situation and give me my original reservation spot. It was obviously too late to cancel too. The part that drives me crazy is that I even called earlier that day to confirm my reservation. This could have easily been prevented. I would not recommend having any type if party or event at this place. They will give walk-ins your spot even if you have a reservation. The service wasn’t good either, half my friends ordered drinks that they never gave us because they said they thought we «didnt want them anymore after we ordered a bottle.» We had to re-order things several times. The only reason I give this place 1 star is because they gave us a discount on the bottle due to this error. It absolutely ruined my birthday night. I would never go back to this place nor recommend it to anyone except walk-ins. I am still angry days later just thinking about it.

This is exactly what I imagine a champagne bar in Midtown East would be like — velvet ropes, unnecessary bouncers, and a «I’m trying to be sexy» vibe. Drinks — fine. I’ve had better and I’ve had worse at the same price. Nothing to write home about. Ambiance — weird. It was dark and the décor was going for the upscale loungey vibe, except rap music was blaring. Strange. Crowd — very, very B&T. Service — impeccable. Highlight of the evening for sure. Do I still prefer this place over the other bars full of grown up frat bros in suits? Eh, probably.

Used a social coupon for cheese plate and champagne flight for two, which was 6 half full flutes of champagne flavorred with different Kirs. Four cheeses, breadsticks, grilled pita, almonds and grapes. Got there at 5:00. Only ones in the place. Place has late night vibe. Kind of expected to see hookahs in the back. Felt a little Middle Eastern. Music is loud pulsating tracks. Good service.

Was really disappointed when I went considering the 5star reviews. The quality of the drinks and food were very low considering the expensive price tag. However the décor was romantic and cozy. Employees were friendly. I wouldn’t go back though, may try the other locations because I’ve heard good things about them. Wouldn’t recommend going to this new location.

My friend had her engagement party here last night(Nov 23rd). We had an absolutely fantastic time! What stood out most was the service by Lana(sp) who was very attentive without being constantly in your face, it was almost as though she somehow appeared just when you needed something. Music was great(electric dance mostly) and the DJ was very accommodating to our silly requests. We also met the manager(Fabian/Fabien) who was very gracious. Can’t say enough good things, we shall be back when we are in town next.

I used to go to the Midtown location few times a month and never really try to hang out East side, too much irish pub and dive bar… But now Flute East bring the whole neighborhood to all new level! So happy to finally be able to be in the east side right next to my working place. The staff are really nice and fun. First time I’ve been there was on saturday night, and they had Live DJ, so much fun! Drinks are pretty much as same as the other flute. Oh and my friend and I wanted to spend a bit of money and I can’t believe the Dom perignon rose bottle is actually lighting up in Pink! Girls go check this out, it’s really cool!

My experience here was a great one!.. They had a live dj performing edm(electric dance music) and deep house music which set the mood. Waiters were very friendly upon my arrival as i felt welcomed to be there. Bartenders spotted me out as soon as i got to the bar with my soulmate. I didnt even have to wait a minute or two to order a drink! Great night, endless fun, this will not be my last stop. Many more to come!
