This place was absolutely delightful. The food was delicious and the customer service was also outstanding. This is a great place if you want a fairly priced, tasty lunch and a great cup of coffee!

Just had a breakfast here this morning with my sisters. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. The prices are very reasonable and our waiter was very attentive. I’d definitely recommend going here for a huge cappuccino or latte. For the price its well worth it.

Favorite meal while in NYC! Quality service and delicious food! The Mediterranean omelette, the egg baguette sandwich, and the caprese omelette were all delicious. But the potatoes were the icing on the cake. Nomz!

Stopped in this little café during my extended business stay recently. I wasn’t expecting much since a small group can pack this place. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Ciabattini since that was what the waitress recommended. The food was decent, but I’ll give this place 4-stars due to good espresso and talking to my favorite waitress. If wifi was available for café patrons, I would have given this place a 5.

I would give them 5 stars but they won’t give us their wifi password as its reserved for the spa customers only. Lame The service other than that is great! Lovely place

Service is great. Very friendly young lady. Only really lame thing is that I patron asked to use the wifi, and the young lady that worked there told her they have wifi but they don’t give it to people at the café? Erm… Huh. You don’t offer wifi in a café?! Id love to support a non-Starbucks vendor however with this staunch rule, I think I’ll go to Starbucks… They offer free wifi. It’s a shame. The wifi is only offered in their spa, and not for café patrons. Thumbs down ya’ll.

This review is 6 months to late but I feel like it needs to be written anyways. My family visited from Norway back in May and we stumbled upon this place for brunch one morning. After having had some mixed experiences the previous day’s we were pleasantly surprised by this strange little café joint with a clothing store. The place is really cute, and our party of 6 took up most of the seats. However the staff was so accommodating and pleasant so although the place was tight it didn’t feel to small! They seam to honestly care about the costumes and were able to small talk without making it awkward. My family, being very Norwegian absolutely loved it! We all ordered different things and we’re happy with our choices. I honestly cannot remember what we ate but it was good nonetheless. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the neighborhood looking for something small to eat.

It’s a little strange that it’s part of a clothing store — I realized there was a café in there from Unilocal, not from walking by every day! The café is cozy and cute, pretty simple. I went for brunch with my sister and had the grilled cheese — it was ok, a little too oily and rubbery for my taste. She got the Israeli toast — which is something we make at home anyways — but was still good. Overall, cute café, will maybe return.

The food wasn’t good by even the lowest café standards. I ordered the organic eggs on French baguette, and asked to have the egg soft-boiled instead of hard boiled. The waitress said that’s not possible since the eggs are hard boiled way before the sandwich is made, which was a bad sign but I was hungry and just conceded. What a mistake… Now that I think about it, how hard it is to just not use the hard boiled eggs and make a fresh one for the sandwich??? I wasn’t asking her to uncook the already-made eggs, I was aware that it’s a café and not Hogwarts, but whatever. That wasn’t even the real issue. The actual problem was that this sandwich was disgusting. The bread was stale, the outside was as hard as a rock, I cut my gums taking a bite of the corner, and the inside was chewy. Stale. The eggs were just sliced, cold hard boiled eggs. There was some spinach and a few slices of tomato in the sandwich. $ 9 for the worst egg sandwich in the Western Hemisphere. Service was also lacking, my server just plopped the sandwich down in front of me. I don’t like the sound of the glass plate loudly thudding on the table. Afterwards, she was too busy on texting on her phone behind the counter so I had to get up to ask a different server for some hot sauce for my horrible sandwich, she was pretty friendly. I ate, I paid, I tipped, and I got the hell out of there. Never ever again, I’ll shoot myself in the neck before I ever step foot in here again. Quite likely the worst $ 9 I have ever spent and I buy a lot of useless bullshit.

I cannot even begin to tell how sweet the staff is! Truly a pleasure to go even for the company. The food is very good too, for breakfast you HAVE to get Becca’s Toast and for dinner the Mango salad. One of my favorite places.

This was clean and simple. I stopped in in the middle of a long Saturday for a latte and a pastry. It actually does more sandwiches and doesn’t have too many small baked goods to choose from, but it is decent enough if you’re walking in the area and need something small and hassle-free. I recommend any of their espresso drinks if you want some bang for your buck. They use illy, but the lattes are huge and are made pretty well.

How disappointing! I have had coffee from Caffe Martier a few times and it was perfectly fine. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. Tonight, I decided to try them for dinner. Their menu sounded appetizing and it’s a rainy night in New York, so I ordered in. I started with the Greek Bruschetta. The description said diced tomatoes, kalamata olives, basil, garlic, topped with feta cheese on focaccia bread. I was pretty bummed to find that it was covered in balsamic vinegar. I HATE vinegar and would have appreciated if they had mentioned it on the menu so I could have requested that they leave it off. Also, there was barely any feta cheese. Oh well. For my entrée, I ordered the Farfalle Arrabbiata. Arrabbiata translates to «angry» in Italian. The reason for the name is because an Arrabbiata sauce is supposed to be spicy. The key words being«supposed to be.» This dish was beyond bland! Absolutely no flavor. And most definitely not even a little spicy. It was a very boring red sauce without so much as a hint of pepper. Additionally, Farfalle pasta is bow-tie shaped. I received penne — a very minor gripe, but if the dish is called Farfalle, I expect Farfalle. And finally, the portion was very small. We all know pasta is cheap. If you’re going to charge me $ 13.25 for some penne with a flavorless red sauce, at least give me a lot of it! I would consider stopping by here in the future for a cup of coffee, but I definitely will not order food from here again.

Caffe Martier is on my way to work so I have stopped in once or twice. It’s a cute café, but very pricey. For a small soy latte it was almost $ 6. The quality of coffee isn’t better or worse then Starbucks, so I usually just go there. On the upside, there’s no line. The service is fine; the employees aren’t friendly but they aren’t rude either so it’s usually a pretty mediocre experience all around. I haven’t eaten any food there, so I can’t comment either way. The people that were in there eating seemed to be able to sit for as long as they wanted, reading and whatnot. So that’s a potential plus. One sentence review: I definitely wouldn’t come out of my way to go to Caffe Martier, but next time I feel like overpaying for coffee this is my spot.

I still love the coffee here but have to say, the staff is sort of slow and not exactly pleasant(the one person who was nice must have changed shifts or something). I’ve since started going across the street to Lenny’s. The coffee is OK, but at least they are fast and friendly.

I had a business meeting and I had to choose a place, so I dutifully checked Unilocal and found this place in the Midtown East area. I don’t know anything in this area, so it was either me blindly choosing or let Unilocal take charge. This place really wasn’t bad, it is cute and definitely a good place for a casual bite or meeting someone you don’t know too well. Well-lit and not too cramped. My party was already waiting for me when I arrived, she was sitting at a 2-top(in fact all the tables are 2-tops here, so don’t arrange a business meeting for greater than 4 people here). I sat down and immediately the waiter brought me a menu and service was prompt throughout. BTW, the waiter was cute as a button. Crunchy-granola, surferesque, long hair and perfect blue eyes. It was nice eye candy and boy oh boy was I famished too. I asked if there were any vegan options and indeed he was able to help. He also mentioned his ex-gf was vegan. LOL. I got the veggie burger with a side of chickpea salad. My burger came out quickly, it was huge and overall, a very decent veggie burger, also stuffed with lots of lettuce and tomatoes. The chickpea salad was decent too, nothing exciting, but got the job done. The waiter also brought me out some orzo salad as an amuse bouche? I was confused. But I ate it and didn’t complain. I enjoyed this place and would come back if I needed a casual meet-up again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. Also, the bathroom is next door, which is also called Martier, but it is a clothing store. I guess owned by the same person. Perhaps by the name of Martier?

I have walked past this place a million times going to/from work and also because I live close by. I always read their little chalkboard that lists their daily specials and have been dying to try it since it looked like such a cute little café. It was sadly a disappointing experience. My friend and I came in around noon on a Saturday. We snagged the last available table. There were only maybe ten two-top tables in addition to an oddly placed table in the boutique next door. The entire menu seems very health conscious with options of egg whites for the omelets, adding soy sausage, or opting for whole wheat waffles. I am not health conscious at all. I like to eat, and I don’t want to be skimping on flavor, which is OFTEN(but not always) compromised in healthy options. We ordered the caprese omelet(basil, mozzarella, and tomatoes) with toast and hashed browns and the applelicious French toast. We split both dishes because I love having a little sweet and savory. The omelet was very good albeit small; the tomatoes were sweet and the entire omelet was fluffy. The hashed browns were too crispy and tasted like frozen ones you get from the supermarket. The toast that came with dish was seven-grain and definitely provided a lot of roughage with all the grains in it but tasted like sawdust. In addition, if you want butter & jelly for your toast, you must ask for it. The applelicious French toast was seriously just six pieces of the aforementioned seven-grain toast topped with powdered sugar and thinly sliced sweet apples and came with a side of syrup. Not impressed at all. Although the food experience was less than stellar, it was entertaining to watch as the old woman next to us ordered glass after glass of wine at noon while the sun is brightly shining and people are waking up. As she drunkenly stumbled out of the café, we thought she must truly live by «It’s five o’clock somewhere.» P. S. When you check in here on Unilocal, you get 10% off an entrée! I saw it when I checked in and then forgot about it when the bill came. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be returning here to use it. Oh well …

Decent little place(emphasis on little) for a quiet brekky or brunch. Even though it is super tiny, service isn’t as quick as my group was expecting(the four of us ordered a few coffees, pastries, and omelets). But it’s yummy and decently priced for this part of the city.

Salmon omelette: okay Mediterranean omelette: eggs, feta cheese, mushrooms These omelettes seemed a bit dry. Comes with complimentary 7-grain-toast(no butter) and hashbrown. Hashbrown = best part of my meal. I’ve heard their pastries are brought in from Balthazaar. Maybe that’s more special.
