Ordered the dumplings and lo mein. I bit into one dumpling and saw that the pork was not cooked all the way through. I showed the staff the still pink meat asked them to cook mine a little longer, and after looking at me like I was insane they finally took it back and gave me replacements. Aaaaand they were also undercooked. Lo mein was very salty and really not worth it.

Stopped here while in the area for a quick lunch. I heeded the warning about avoiding the lunch time. I stopped by just beforehand. I had fried dumplings with lo mein. Food was tasty, good portion and very inexpensive. I would have given five stars, but seating is very limited — only six stools at a counter. So, again, avoid the lunch rush if you’re not local and want a seat. If you’re local no problem. Definitely will visit again.

The pork potstickers here are absolutely delicious! Not as cheap as Chinatown, but that’s to be expected; it’s very fairly priced for the neighborhood. My only gripe is that there is a bit of a wait, and the place gets crowded at lunchtime; the price to pay for good food I suppose.

I had brought lunch to work today and wanted to grab a little something extra to go with my half sandwich. I knew this place was around the block so I ran over quick to pick up a few dumplings. As most reviews say, the place is small with a small countertop where 3 – 4 people can sit and wait for their order or even hang out and eat inside. When I came, there were about 5 people waiting, they all got their orders before me and left. Didn’t seem like eating in was a thing. Most reviews say you’ll definitely have to wait a few minutes for your order since everything is fresh/made to order. I ordered 5pc pork dumplings and 5 piece chicken pot stickers, and waited maybe two minutes, not the 10 – 15 that others have mentioned. It didn’t seem like the people before me waited long either. I think they’ve worked out the wait issue, but then again, this is my first time here The dumplings and pot stickers were great! I preferred my pot stickers over my dumplings. The dumplings did fall apart a bit, it seemed as if they were somewhat overcooked/boiled. Not a deal breaker for me though, this might have been a one time thing because other’s photos of their dumplings look perfect. My total came up to about $ 8.50ish, definitely worth it for 10pcs. I’m giving four stars because although they’re great and super convenient, I know of another place that’s only 10 minutes further away and significantly cheaper($ 1 for 4pcs) that I LOVE, but this will do since it’s so so close to work. Will definitely be back to try one of their combos! TIP: Make sure to grab chopsticks and dumpling/potsticker sauce to the left of the register, they don’t pack it with your order!

Within a few blocks from my office, so I dropped by to pick up lunch last week. It’s a little take-out spot at the corner of 24th Street and Lexington Avenue with a few bar stools along the window where around 3−4people can sit down to eat or wait for their orders. I ordered a wonton noodle soup and a small order of the pork and chicken potstickers. I probably waited about 5 – 10 minutes for my order so they are fairly quick. The dumplings were decent and fresh. Best of all, it’s one of the cheapest meals you can get in the Flatiron/Gramercy area. They have combos where you can get 5 potstickers/dumplings with a side of of soup or lo mein for just about $ 6. Don’t forget. In case they don’t pack it for you already, there are chopsticks at the counter and there are condiment containers available on the side for their sauces.

The Pot Stickers here are fantastic — I had 5 dumplings with noodles. Personally I could have done without the noodles and had additional different dumplings. Seating is limited so don’t expect to grab a bar stall seat when it’s busy. Simple, tasty food — just what I needed.

I was walking past this place, saw that they had boba, and did a backtrack to go in. It was one of the only places where I’d seen rooibos latte bubble tea, which I ordered. The drink came quick, and it tasted delicious. It’s a $ 5 minimum for credit card, so either order extra pudding or more than one drink.

Good cheap dumpling place. Nothing amazing, but a solid option for lunch. This is a takeout counter, so don’t plan on dining in unless you want to be perched uncomfortably by the windows while being surrounded by the crowd of people waiting for their orders. They have choices of boiled or fried dumplings, in either pork, beef, chicken, or veggie. I’m not a huge fan of the quality of meat they use, so I tend to get veggie. They have combo meals where you can pair dumplings with soup or noodles. My go-to is veggie potstickers with a hot and sour soup. Pretty decent and tasty. Despite being a takeout counter, this isn’t really fast food per se. Especially if you order your dumplings fried. Be prepared to wait around 15 minutes for your food, and they don’t always make orders in the way they were received, which can be kind of frustrating when you’re seeing people getting their food before you even though you ordered first. On a positive note, the potsticker sauce is excellent.

Not your average potstickers. These potstickers aren’t shape like a dumpling like a dumpling should. These dumplings have thin skin and are rolled up like spring rolls. They taste more like gyoza, The meat inside is also juicy. But becareful with the dumpling soysauce, it will leave your breath stinking like garlic. If you do not want to be embarrassed, Prepare a piece of gum or two.

This place is definitely terrible. The price is ridiculous in consideration of the taste of its food. The most unbearable thing is that staff there don’t even know how to act politely and patiently. In a word, I’ll never go to this place any more.

This is a great spot if you’re looking for good dumplings and a quick meal. I wouldn’t say it’s cheap compared to a lot of other dumpling places in the city. I typically get the #1(pork potstickers and lo mein). The dumplings are good and tasty, nothing to die for. The taste seems to vary each time — the ones I had last night had a noticeable ginger presence. The lo mein is pretty standard but again, nothing to rave about. The portion is a perfect size and they make it pretty quickly. I also like that they have a counter with the different sauces where you pick how much you want. Don’t expect to dine in — there’s only a tiny counter.

Overall: Didi Dumpling is an OK dumpling house with just OK prices for dumplings and noodles. Get the potstickers. Don’t get the juicy buns. Don’t get the sesame noodles. Maybe get lomein. If possible? Go somewhere else. Food: The potstickers were alright albeit having a very strong gingery taste to it(which is okay sometimes). It came out way to quickly to have been fried fresh which leads me to believe they have a bunch of dumplings steamed/boiled which they then fry quickly. However, even with this, my dumplings weren’t all that hot or crispy. The beef is better than the pork and at 5 for $ 4, not really worth it. I can get 10 dumplings that are way better for $ 3 at lamzhou hand drawn noodles. Speaking of noodles, their noodles were just… refrigerated noodles that were either quickly cooked or served cold. It would be okay but man those noodles just felt so greasy(the sesame peanut chicken noodles). I’m not a fan of this style although I love these kinds of noodles. The lomein was okay. Just… okay. 2.5÷5 Service: It’s just a small shop with very little standing room. I ate comfortably since no one was around but in general it was a nice little shop with fast service and decently nice people! 3⁄5 Because I was hungry, I’ll give it 3 stars.

My friend got me some cold sesame noodles from here on her way to school and it hit the spot. The portion looked small, but it was filling for me, at least. I can’t input on how the service was because I did not order the food. As for the food, I’ve passed by this place many of times and always thought that their dumplings are overpriced. Well, that’s my opinion as I can cook dumplings myself, so there’s no need for me to spend 3 – 5 dollars buying a food portion for 5 dumplings. The sesame noodles were good and flavorful. A lot of rich sesame flavor(it tastes like the authentic one I eat at home!). The noodle soaked up the flavor really well. And the sauce was thick and nutty, which is really yummy. It was decorated with parsley(not exactly a fan of parsley), shredded carrots, peanut bits, shredded chicken, and sesame seeds. It tastes really good after mixing it and distributing the sauce. I would let the noodles sit for a while after mixing it to let the noodles soak up the sauce’s flavor just a bit. It’s a good place to buy take out if you want cold sesame noodles. Again, this review is only for the cold sesame noodles and not the dumplings.

Very impressed! Was in the mood for dumplings and boy did they hit the spot. Ordered the $ 6.95 special which was 5 fried dumplings and lo mein. Dumplings were delicious and the lo mein was perfect. This is really a take out establishment with some counter seating — seems to get very crowded with school kids but I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Great lunch value!

This place is terrible… words cannot describe how absolutely disgusting the food here is. I got the juicy pork dumplings… they tasted terrible and were so pink I could not even eat them. Beware they also use cilantro. Not to mention I ordered 15 dumplings, only got 10 and the guy working there who called my order and handed me my food was so rude. Never going back and would advise you all to save your money and mouths for something less all-around atrocious.

Dumplings are okay, not great but when I’m craving a quick fix it does the job. The shop is tiny so it’s mostly a take out spot. You can call ahead or order there an wait, it is usually a pretty short wait. I like the pork pot stickers best, I’m not a fan of the veggie dumplings, they didn’t have a great flavor to them and the skin on the dumpling is too thick. The noodle and dumpling combo is great, I would stay away from the soups.

My coworker recommended this spot and I went two days consecutively, pretty good! I’ve gotten the chicken experience in both potsticker & dumpling form, definitely prefer the unhealthy potsticker version; can you blame me? i’ve also tried the hot and sour soup which was just okay. The prices are dirt cheap, $ 7 and some change for 10 potstickers/dumplings or you can do a few different combos. I’ve gotten several of my coworkers hooked, living on a NYC budget aint easy but DiDi dumpling is a cost-efficient indulgence. Only drawback is how tiny the shop is and how crazy it gets during lunch.

Did I dump Ling? YES, you did and was able to start fresh with just yourself and some great recipes. Flying solo you opened up a corner dumpling spot in the Gramercy/Baruch college vicinity slinging those crispy thin skinned dumplings and addictive garlic soy dipping sauce. Good riddance Ling! (Or perhaps…) NO, you wouldnt even consider going that route since Ling is your hookup for those delicious dumpling recipes which include chicken and beef varieties as well as the usual pork or veggie. You needed her and knew she was an asset to your company. Thank God! These dumplings are amazing and may just be the best dumplings in this city! They are not as cheap as Chinatown but so worth it because what they don’t give you in volume they make up for in the sheer deliciousness factor and overall satisfaction level of eating a perfect potsticker. They are not at all a redick price, it’s just not the 5 for $ 1 deal from my hood. What they do have in common is that they sell frozen bags of 25/$ 15 and 50/?. I love you Didi and I don’t care if you dumped Ling or not as long as you keep making such filling, flavorful and satisfying dumplings.

My second time here and it was still a okay experience. The first time, I ordered the beef sensation juicy dumplings(5 pieces) and it came out as pot stickers instead, okay. A slight miscommunication, no big deal because the pot stickers were pretty good. The second time I came here, I ordered the pork special(5 pieces) and beef sensation(5 pieces) pot stickers for $ 7. They were good but not spectacular. P. S. the beef dumplings tasted a lot better than the pork dumplings. So why am I giving them three stars? 1. Even though the dumplings are long, the filling inside is not. Some of the dumplings only have 2⁄3 filling and the rest were just plain skin. How dare you skimp out on the meat! 2. The dumplings fell apart really quickly so I was eating the skin and filling separately most of the time. 3. Not really cheap. $ 4 for 5 pieces of dumplings. Might as well buy a whole pack at a supermarket for the same price and a lot more dumplings. The place is small and about 7 – 8 people can dine in at the same time. More of a take out place. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you are craving some dumplings.

I expected more from a 4 starred restaurant. Lo mein: noodles were lukewarm mmmm yum! They were pretty short too(each strand of Lo mein noodles). It was like they used scissors to cut them up for me so that I can shovel food in my face faster. Boiled dumplings: I purposefully got 5 pork and 5 veggies dumplings so I can see if there’s any difference. Nope. They tasted the same. Don’t get me wrong. They tasted good.

If I were a student of Baruch College, this would be my to-go spot for quick and good dumplings and soup! It’s so close to the college that I was wondering why there were so many youngen’s here. We got here right at 12pm and it was not crowded. They do have two small bar areas to sit at with a small place to eat your food. One was for two people and the other for three. This is not really for a sit down kind of restaurant but for to-go mainly. The place is very tiny even when the line goes out the door. We got lucky to sit by the window but even that was tight when others were waiting for their food. This is why its not 5 stars. The lady at the counter was very friendly and seemed to love what she does. What was funny though, it was a Mexican lady taking orders and Mexicans cooking in the back! Where was the asians? LOL Once we ordered, the crowd started coming in. We passed by here so many times going to our destination spots in the city and my husband had to try it here since he loves dumplings. We ordered the boiled and fried dumplings. Both were good; the meat was very tasty. I am more in favor of the fried dumplings as it was part crispy and soft. The chili and dumpling sauce was very good with it, too. It was not too greasy. I also wanted soup since it was cold out so we ordered their Won Ton soup. The broth was tasty and not too greasy. They gave a hearty amount and I really like the veggies they put in it. These were pretty decently priced for what you get. I would come back again if we are back in the area. Very pleased indeed…

What a great surprise, and what an insane price. Their veggie dumplings were very tasty pan fried – and pretty hefty stuff! With the chili and dumpling sauces they really come to life. I was impressed they had a vegetarian soup which came with their boiled dumplings. Another great call. The broth was decently complex and had a nice amount of veggies floating around. Two of the five(generous!) dumplings broke under my chopstick which is a bit of a pet peeve to me – I hate seeing these poor dumplings busting open and sogging up. But this was a very minor problem in the scheme of things. Maybe next time I’ll just ask for them to put the boiled dumplings outside of the soup.

It seems I had just beaten the dinner rush — when I got in the place was deserted, but the tiny room quickly filled up. I can see how people might complain about the wait, but fortunately, I had no cause to. I had the pork dumplings and the lo mein, and the homemade quality definitely showed. Those dumplings were absolutely delicious, and immaculately prepared; though for the price point, they had better be! The side of lo mein is what really made the money worth spending, even if it was just a little over-peppered. I wound up going back up for their«fresh-squeezed lemonade»(which was nice, though unremarkable) because I’m kind of a wimp about heat. Other reviewers seem to agree with me on the pepper point though, so I guess it wasn’t just me. Service was, in my instance, friendly and quick. I did spot a fly or two trying to get at the sauces, but that’s life when you’re so close to the door.

Pretty good potstickers but expensive compared to chinatown. 10 Potstickers comes out to 7+ dollars, and the lo mein that comes with their combos are bland and oily. But other than the price, their Potstickers are worth a try. Note: Not a place to sit down and eat.

DiDi is an OK dumpling spot. Here’s the rundown… * It’s Tiny — Literally there is a small counter to eat with 4 – 5 stools in the place. Das it. * Wait time — Call ahead. They make these to order, so prepare to wait. Plus, see above, the waiting isn’t comfortable. * Pork Dumplings — Better than the potstickers, they had some flavor to them and were a decent size. Would get more of these next time for sure. * Veggie Pot stickers — OK, the crunchy ones were best, but a few weren’t fried enough on that one delightful side. Plus, they were super greasy. Overall, I like the made to order aspect and how they offer dumplings/potstickers with your choice of filling(pork, beef, chicken, veggie). For a quick bite, it’ll do the trick. If you have more time, head elsewhere.
