The salted caramel is amazing. This location is intended to address Body World and The Discovery Museum traffic. The cupcakes are well worth the trek downstairs, follow the signs to bakery heaven. It’s quiet spot to catch up on some writing or reflect on why you moved to New York in the first place. The customer service is patchy.

So they don’t actually open this location till 11AM… needs to update their site as well. A bit disappointed.

First off, DC Cupcakes is in the most random place in Times Square. I’ve walked by the building SO many times and had NO idea DC Cupcakes was located inside the building. You need to go down to and through a dungeon to access it. The signage is terrible, even in the elevator as there’s not button or sign that tells you what floor DC Cupcakes is on. I was so relived when we finally arrived to our destination, only to see a sign that stated the person working had gone on break for 40 minutes. Yes, they literally shut down and no one is around to help you. Fortunately for us, we only had to wait 10minutes or so when some random woman that looked like she just woke up from a nap, popped around the corner and asked if we were there for cupcakes. I surely wasn’t there for a steak dinner! I wasn’t even sure if she was filling in for someone since she had no item of clothing on reflecting that she was an employee of DC Cupcakes. Sadly, there were only six sad flavors on display. The good news is that the 3 flavors we purchased were VERY good. Just don’t think I’ll ever go back to that location, was just a weird experience all around

Their cupcakes are good. I wish they had slightly more variety since I went there 3 times and every time all of their cupcakes were the same though

OMG, What amazing cupcakes. I could live off the energy high from one cupcake all day. However don’t let them tell you they travel well. We took some on the plane from NYC to SFO, a disaster as far a looking good, but they still tasted great.

Lapin and I came here after visiting the Body Pulse exhibit. We got the cookies and cream cupcake which was delicious. Lapin got a coffee which he enjoyed. The staff member was nice but overwhelmed by the sheer amount of people ordering. They should probably install an ordering queue or hire more personnel to help make the ordering process easier.

Not much«lava» in their Lava cupcake but the cake is super moist & tasty. Loved the cream cheese icing. The cakes are on the smaller side too & the«café» looks like a really ugly school cafeteria. Not very welcoming at all with horrible fluorescent lighting. Honestly, they should outlaw fluorescent lighting. It’s grotesque. Lol There’s only one person to attend everyone. She’s the only one making coffee, taking orders & handling the register so service is quite slow because she’s honestly overloaded with work. They also ran out of paper plates so she handed us bounty napkins. Really?! This location is so sad. Go for the cakes but take them to go.

Red velvet was really good. icing was creamy and just the right amount. some places, the icing has been on too long so it’s crispy. this was not. service was good and quick too. I’m still pretty amazed on how expensive a cupcake is now since it’s in «fashion» but since it was yummy and we were in the need for a sugar fix, it hit the spot!

The hours are incorrect, after promising my daughter cupcakes for breakfast we showed up to find they actually opened at 11, not 10!

This café is conveniently located in Times Square if you don’t have the time to go all the way to Soho to go to Georgetown Cupcakes. It’s in the Discovery Museum near Toys“r“us. Walk in, go up a few steps, straight ahead will be the ticket counter, take a right to take the elevator(has a big DC cupcakes logo on it) down a level. You will find the café once you step out of the elevator and walk a little. The down side of this café is they offer a very limited selection, like 6 flavors. Every time I go there, I never get anything because they don’t have a flavor I’m dying to get. One time I went there was nothing that was chocolate cake. They also do not participate in the free flavor of the day for first 100 customers either. Based on the cupcakes I’ve had from other Georgetown Cupcake stores, I still think they have the best cupcakes compared to all the major cupcakeries.

The cupcakes here are really good! The red velvet is amazing as are the others, I just can’t choose my favorite. The only draw back with this location is that it is just a café and only carries 6 different types at a time, so you cannot go off of their website on the cupcakes they will have that day. The location is a bit hard to find as it is on the downstairs level of the Discovery Times Square location. Definitely with a visit though!

Yum, yum, yum. Stopped by here after going to one of the exhibits at Discovery Times Square. We tried the chocolate and vanilla, birthday cake, coconut, and red velvet cupcakes. All in all, these are some delicious treats. Very moist and flavorful cake, and the frostings were fluffy and rich, not at all reminiscent of Crisco or canned frosting like some cupcake places we’ve been to. Prices are great and the cupcakes are the size you’d normally make at home, not the miniature size many places sell. Even the coffee they served was excellent. The two girls working there were chatty and very friendly. They kept the café very clean and continually checked on customers to make sure everything was okay. The only downsides are that they only serve a limited number of flavors(today was just five), and they are on the basement level of DXT where their souvenir/merchandise shop is. Unless you knew to look for them in this building, chances are you’d miss the flyer in the window advertising their presence. If you are in Times Square and/or the theatre district, take the time and effort to check them out. This little detour will be a tasty one.

We went to the Art of Brick and Shipwreck exhibits here and needed a cup of coffee so we decided to stop here for a cupcake with my girls. After ordering an iced coffee(they were out of cold coffee to properly make this) for my wife and taking a much smaller portion, I ordered a wet cappuccino. Nothing special right? They wanted to charge me an extra .40 cents to use half and half instead of regular milk. Now, I didn’t ask them to discount the coffee they made for my wife but yet they still insisted I pay this extra money after I had already paid w a CC. When I asked the«manager» on duty why they thought they could get away w this type of charge, he said that Starbucks and every other coffee house did the same. At that point I told him he was out of his mind and that he was indeed WRONG about everyone else charging for this as extra. If my girls were not devouring the cakes I would have returned them and the 2 coffees just based on principle alone. It is not the kind of business I want to support.

I love this place! I think I have tried every cupcake in NYC and this place is my favorite. It has great cake, awesome frosting, and frosting to cake ratio is spot on. The flavors and decorations on the cupcakes are not boring(you know who I’m talking about). 5 stars!

I was starving and was going to see the Discovery Time Square when I came upon DC Cupcakes Café. I automatically asked the Discovery representative right outside the building where the cupcakes were located. She kindly directed me to the elevator and the café was located right next to the Discovery Gift Shop. Anyway, I got a chocolate swirl peanut butter which was very rich, the icing I’m afraid was too rich for me which says a lot when I am a chocaholic. The bread was a bit hard for my liking and the icing too sweet. However, I did get an iced latte which was very good. Also, the server was nice, overall a good spot for my caffeine fix but not for my sweet tooth.

This place is right outside the Harry Potter Exhibit at Discovery Times Square. You have to pass it in order to exit, so naturally I had to get a cupcake. You can’t pass by a cupcake place without getting one. This is a rule! I got a Vanilla Birthday cupcake and it was just OK. Nothing special at all. I’ve had much better. The first few bites were pretty good and then it started to get this weird after taste. I wonder if I just happened to order a funky cupcake or they all taste like that. Either way, this is definitely a «try it once then I’m done» type of place. They are not worth the price. It’s $ 2.75 for a cupcake and they are small.

Just outside the current Harry Potter exhibit. Had 6 flavors of cupcake when I visited and some coffee options. Cute pink signature touches and sells some merchandise as well. Bought half dozen for $ 15. Cupcakes were less than stellar and my chai tea latte was bland. Not impressed…
