Today was not a good service. First they took long to bring us chips and water. Then they tell us happy hour is only at first floor not in second floor but meantime last time we were here go got happy here smh ohhh and there’s no soap in the bathroom

After passing by it & seeing signage for it back in my college days, I finally got the opportunity to go here. This location is very crowded so I don’t know if they take reservations but if they do, you might want to get one. Pricing is not the cheapest & the food is a bit spicy(which some of you may like) but the food was pretty good and definitely abundant for my purposes. They were open on New Year’s Day, which was cool. Maybe I’d come back with good company but at least it’s something I can say I finally did.

I used to go to Chevy’s all the time when I was in college in the Midwest! Somehow, I’ve avoided trying Chevy’s for all the years I’ve lived in the city. We were really hungry yesterday and needed to eat something by Port Authority. We got there right after 8pm(when HH ends :(). It was fairly empty and we were seated at the table right by the 42nd St window. Cons: — Our waiter did come and check in on us but we felt like we were in Siberia. After he cleared our plates I asked for a water refill(first one) and I never got it. He brought us a chips refill but no salsa. — The prices on our menus were different(see uploaded photo). Of course the prices went up! — It’s expensive! But portions were decent. I feel like the tomalito portion has definitely shrunk. Pros: — The chips are as crispy and warm as I remember them. — Loved my mesquite steak fajitas. Asked for medium and they were like Mexican version of Korean kalbi… — Still love the sweet corn tomalito. We only got two entrees and left with a $ 50ish bill, pre tip.

Overpriced, ordered take out chips and salsa, side of guac and steak quesadilla. Received half bag of chips, half a container of salsa, tiny container of guac and quesadilla for $ 41? Not worth it, very disappointed.,.

Let’s face it, I’m from Alabama and I don’t get into all the fancy places that offer weird sh*t. I like food that I’m able to identify and food that fills up my plate. Lol This is my 4th trip to NYC and I’ve yet to find a place like that until now. This is Tex Mex and it’s really good food. And lots of food. I had the fajita burrito and it was yummy! I left half of it because I filled up on the guacamole, salsa and chips. We will definitely come back here.

Eh… I ordered the taquitos and the cheese stuffed pepper in their«pick two» combo. It was alright. It didn’t taste fresh, as their advertisement suggests. It really tasted frozen and stale. I ate it though, because I was starving that day. Surprisingly enough I didn’t get sick from the food. I sat at the bar to eat, and ordered the mango Chevy– Rita. It was tasty and worth it. Kat the bartender was very helpful, patient and nice.

Came here while waiting for a bus ride through Times Square when my mom was visiting. Margaritas are too sweet and barely include tequila, the guacamole had no onion or cilantro in it, and the chips were all crushed aside from a few on top. The Saving grace was the queso — good spicy flavor and temperature. Service was terrible even when they weren’t that busy, and the prices are astronomical — considering it’s Times Square. Won’t be back!

I love Chevy’s! I’ve been to various locations across the country(San Francisco area and the Miami area) since they closed the ones in Phoenix :(-so we make it a point to at least visit a location when we go on vacation. I’ve been to this location years ago when I was in college. The service on a Thursday night was on par nothing special but they got us our drinks and chip refills in a reasonable amount of time. We came late(9:30-ish PM) and we were happy to know they served the full menu late too, after all it is Times Square. With that being said you will pay TIMESSQUAREPRICES! Yikes. That’s why it’s only 4⁄5 stars. I remember it being a little out of my college budget the last time I came here too. I always order the Farmers Market enchiladas –yum! This time it was a little bit spicer than I like but it was awesome regardless. Chips and salsa were fresh and was pleasantly surprised they didn’t charge us for multiple rounds. The only small mistake was not getting our queso before our meal –our wait wasn’t very long for our food so it wasn’t a big deal. They offered to cancel it but we made a special trip in so heck yeah we want it! After getting the bill at any restaurant my fiancé always has the same joke«Is that the bill amount or my phone number» or some corny joke like that –in this case it was almost his phone number. Double yikes. BUT since it was a treat for us and again we made a special trip to come here so we just promised ourselves to NEVER eat in Times Square again on our vacation. All in all it was a great visit and if we are in NYC again we will probably stop in but save a few more pennies for our trip back to Chevy’s.

There was a time I used to eat here several times a month. I always requested the same server. He was off the charts. Unfortunately the prices rose and the portions shrunk. I always ordered the same quesadilla. Went from O yeah to o no real fast.

Our regular hide out when waiting for our movie to start next door. You know when it’s a real Mexican restaurant when they still serve free tortilla chips and salsa. Chips are crispy by the way and even warm. Salsa has a unique spice and you can taste that it’s made in house. While waiting for your entrée you can wait with a huge margarita which is their signature and is delish. We were there for happy hour and ordered $ 5.99 margaritas, fresh guac, sampler plate and the burger. I was a little surprised to see the bill at $ 84+?! Which reminds me to check the receipt and call them if it isn’t too late. That’s what their margaritas do to you — forget to check your receipt! Still one of our favorites in hectic Times Square.

An absolute shocker. Service here was absolutely terrible. Our server asked us to move tables halfway through our meal and did not offer any assistance — we had to drag tables together and carry our food over ourselves. Drinks took almost 20 minutes to arrive after ordering. Food was mediocre at best. Even as a tourist, this is not how I have come to expect to be treated in this city, especially at a restaurant in Times Square. Do yourselves a favour and stay away from here.

My daughter and I made it a point to go to Chevy’s today. I was still hankering the Tostada Salad and my daughter the burrito. Service was great. Our waiter Roberto was patient and accommodating with me and my food sensitivities. The salad was wonderful! So filling with the right amount of chicken, beans, cheese and lettuce. I love to eat the shell. My plate was cleaned! My daughter couldn’t finish her burrito it was so huge. She enjoyed every bite. I tried a non-alcoholic Piña Colada. It was so good for a summer day. The atmosphere was festive. We were by a window so it was light and airy. Very comfortable. It felt like a special occasion. The manager came over and welcomed us. He invited us back and made sure we enjoyed our meals and that our service was satisfactory. All I can say is super job Chevy’s. Keep up the good work. We’ll be back.

I have to admit, for a chain restaurant, this place was great. It started off poorly but quickly turned around. My guest and I arrived around 4:45 pm for an early dinner– and so did everyone else(probably because of the rain). They could probably replace their hostesses with monkeys, or robots, because that’s about how useful these ones were. They told people coming up to them to sit down and wait without taking any information. There were probably 5 parties that were waiting before finally a manager came and sorted this out. We were then seated quickly. Our waitress had such a pleasant attitude, I wanted to make her my friend and hang out with her in NYC. She got our drinks quickly, which were a decent happy hour price, but way too sugary(I had a variation of a margarita). Chips and salsa came with her to the table when we sat down and food came out within probably eight minutes of us ordering. The food was hot and delicious. We enjoyed quesadillas and an enchilada. The prices were outrageous but not offensive because we were in NYC afterall. Our waitress checked on us and graciously gave us suggestions for NYC attractions. Overall, I would come back here when in NYC if I didn’t explore other options.

After many years of coming here I have to finally write something unfortunate. Usually I would gloat about this place to all my friends especially visitors coming to NY from other states or countries. The food is pretty good, the drinks are exquisite … Happy hours here I’ve had many… But the last few visits haven’t been so pleasurable, the last one being two evenings ago! Usually every restaurant I go to prior to eating I use the restroom out of habit but with a second intention in mind. A clean bathroom means a lot to me. It means your employees wash their hands and it men’s management takes pride in getting rid of airborne and man bacteria that may travel out to what your customers are consuming! To my regret I was so hungry and in dire need of a relaxing drink that I didn’t see a need to use the restroom and plus I «know this place and trust it’s cleanliness». Please look at the pictures I will add shortly and you judge. I did bring it up to the manager although apologetic didn’t seem to care much as he remained in the same spot. Not to mention a female employee standing right there said«bet you is about the bathroom» to another colleague… Things that make u go hmmmmm! Another that was already in the females bathroom on her cellphone chatting away not realizing«damn this room is a mess» smh! Bye bye Chevys it’s been real!

Leckerer Mexican Food zu normalen Preisen mit teils großen Portionen. Der Salat meiner Freundin reichte für 2 Personen gemütliches Ambiente mit nettem Personal… Die Coctails sind es ebenfalls Wert probiert zu werden.

I went to Chevy’s because it was located in the same complex as my hotel(The Westin) and we were waiting for my sister and her boyfriend to arrive. I by no means expected five-star quality food or service, however, this visit was rough. The restaurant wasn’t busy, yet, our server rarely came to check on us. What should have been a quick meal ended up lasting between 2 – 3 hours. The tap water tasted awful, to the point where I couldn’t drink it. In addition, all four of our orders were served cold. They also messed up half of our orders. Our server was so hard to track down and the service was so slow, we didn’t even bother trying to correct it. We just didn’t eat much of our meal. Instead of apologizing or trying to remedy to situation, our server failed to acknowledge any of it. She also charged us for items in our order that we never received. When we pointed this out to her, she ended up running our cards and charging us twice for the same meals. There are other Mexican restaurants in Times Square that serve high quality food. They are also not any more expensive than Chevy’s. I would recommend La Toloache. Chevy’s is not worth visiting. I will be shocked if they stay in business much longer.

I came during their happy hour and grabbed two margaritas. I probably would’ve stayed for the food, but I already had another place in mind to try. I will update my review in the event that I ever return for food. The margaritas were okay and the glasses were huge martini glasses. The bartender was an older female, and she was super sweet and attentive.

This place really is a 3 star place, but being a new yorker… it is already assumed that all times square restuarants are going to be a bit crazy in terms of slow service and modest quality food. For Cinco De Mayo, they had a really good DJ and were serving up dirt cheap margaritas in disposable plastic cups. We didn’t have any of the food there mainly because the second floor of this place seemed rather boring compared to their bar scene. The bartenders seemed to have a thick skin but I understand. It took us quite a bit to get our first round of drinks and even longer to get some water. The second round of drinks for whatever reason was very speedy. Great for tourists and great as a last resort for locals if they don’t want to travel very far from their times square/hells kitchen offices.

Drinks at the bar were awesome blueberry margaritas were strong and filled with blueberries. The bartender was courteous, friendly, and amusing. The place was packed… c’mon son its Easter Sunday in Times Square, in the heart of the greatest city in the universe. The atmosphere was electric and… wait for it… the Knick’s game was on at the bar. Yes I’m still a Knick fan. Service was fast. We had appetizer sampler before our movie and the order arrived quickly… wings, chips, guacamole, dip, cheese potatoes, and fries. Great portions shared with three people and we had more than enough $ 17.49 for the sampler, but it was worth it.
