This wine shop is not in my neighborhood and I wish it were. The selection and above all, the customer service, was outstanding. I found an excellent argentine Malbec and the quick check out procedure was both efficient and polite; two qualities I look for in every store I shop and yet, don’t always find. I will be sure to shop here whenever I’m in the area.

Really like the look and feel here. It’s compact but the displays are very well done. It’s easy to see the wide range of choices. They carry some fun and different brands and vintages. I’ll be back

This is my local store. They’re good, have a big selection for their size and are friendly and helpful. I’m a fan.

DONOT buy wine from this store. I recently purchased nearly $ 700 worth of wine. I selected an assortment of wine to fill my new wine fridge, as I just moved into the area. When I opened the first bottle… corked. Thought it was a fluke. Second bottle… corked. Fluke? Nope… third and fourth… all corked. Most of the corks were severely dried out and all of them broke inside the bottle. They do not keep their wines properly or at proper temperature. When I went to inform them of the issue they refused to refund my money or give me store credit towards hard alcohol. They appear to have a great selection of wines but actually they are not stored well and you are rolling the dice buying from this store… cause chances are your buying a corked wine. I am currently disputing the charge with my credit card company since the owners refused to work with me.

A small and extremely cramped space without any aisle room for walking or browsing freely, yet the selection of wine is very good including Japanese sake. Wine, wine, WINE is stocked nearly every inch of space and the entrance/exit foyer area is very little room. Re-stocking was a challenge for the lack of space and the sounds of glass bottles clicking together was mellifluous to «it’s WINE time!!» I like this little wine shop for carrying good quality reds, whites for wine. After a long exhaustive and struggling week, undecided when browsing through, I inquired for assistance for a semi-sweet red within the $ 15.00 limit. Service is attentive, if not extremely knowledgeable. It was here where I attain a bottle of semi-sweet Californian Cabernet Sauvignon for $ 15.99. Behind the counter lies mini bottles for small selection of various whiskey and rum. Two separate registers bears two separate queues: one for cash and the other for credit card purchases. Chelsea Wine opens late especially on weekdays.

The perfect little store for the wino in all of us. Highly recommended with a nice selection of imported and domestic wines.

There is so much booze in this place. Selections of wines laid out on the floor. Behind the counter, like the candy shop in Willy Wonka, towering assortments of liquors of all kinds. Sure they had some of the lower classes favorites, but many more to choose for special occasions. A library of spirits. Can’t say anything specifically wrong about my experience. For it’s neighborhood, prices are expected, but quality is good and consistent. Service was sub-par and accounts for the four star rating. In a place like that it will take dazzling behavior from a clerk to grab my attention, so somewhat unfair of me to say. But that’s being a critic for ya, suck it up ;) All in all, worth the walk through. I could do with less hay attacking me as I walk around, too…

This is a great place — extensive collection for both expensive and inexpensive wine. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating in helping you find what you need. They are also very willing to give their own recommendations and they definitely know their stuff about wine. They have amazing hours — opened until 11PM on most days.

I wouldn’t have thought Angostura Bitters were really that hard to come by. With bitters a required ingredient in manhattans you’d think it would be easier to find bitters in Manhattan. It is in fact quite difficult. I’d say this was irony, but I tend to avoid saying that since it is an expression misused so regularly, much like«I know what I’m talking about» or «I’m not an idiot». On my way back from getting my hair sculpted into a to-scale model of the HMS Victory, I thought I’d stick my fabulously adorned head into this place as I walked past, being my fifth attempt at locating an elusive bottle of The Bit’s. My first challenge on entering the store was navigating through the cunning maze of bottles. There was very little space to get through to the counter: possibly to fit the biggest variety in as possible, but I like to think it was designed to eliminate any morbidly obese customers from making it to the point of purchase for their own health. The liquor shelves were gorgeous. No doubling up: only one bottle out front of every type, to allow even more variety. Of course they had bitters! Helpful, friendly, didn’t look at me like an idiot for my request or asked what«bittahz» are, forcing me to put on an American accent. High fives for you gents, but just an easy one. Anyone falls over in here and you guys are in a world of trouble.

This place has quite a collection — there must be thousands of different labels in there. Chances are, if you’re looking for it, they have it. If you’re a wine lover, this is the place for you! I actually went in there looking for a gift. I don’t know much about wine, but the staff guided me perfectly. They even wrapped it up for free in a nice shiny bag. Icing on the cake.

Wine wine everywhere, bottles filling up every imaginable nook and cranny! «Be mindful when navigating» sign should be displayed more conspicuously, and definitely don’t bring small children inside as they can easily trip on the extra bottles lying around. The collection is impressive. And it makes me feel completely ignorant about wine, because there are too many names that don’t register… You’ll find lots and lots of names from Rhone/France, Italy, Australia, South Africa, California, etc. A nice stock of sake, too. Haven’t really had a chance to interact with the staff here… but the little«Wine Spectator» point signs may help you identify the good picks. Open till 10pm, except for Fridays and Saturdays when it closes at 11pm. Sweet!
