Loves my experience here. My son and I got father-son manicures and they handled us expertly, efficiently, and with great attitude. I’ve been to many places and this one ranks high on the value-to-service scale. This will be my go-to place in this neighborhood!

I haven’t been this damn upset in a long time. Check the photos for my bloody toe. I am so worried I’m going to get an infection or disease. Amy was my technician and please let it be known — do NOT go to her. From the get go I didn’t like her — she barely put any effort into the«mini massage» that you’re supposed to get with your pedicure. It was so half assed. And then she cut my cuticle too deep. It started bleeding a little(don’t worry, it gets worse) and she didn’t even seem sorry. When her manager came over and asked what happened, she blamed that the massage chair moved me. She kept putting these«medicine» droplets on my cut even though I said stop. At this point I don’t trust any of the shit they have. She didn’t listen and kept putting it on. Unfortunately it was on my big toe. I thought about just not getting the nail polish on that toe — but wtf I’m paying for it — it doesn’t look right if your big toe doesn’t have nail polish on it. So i trusted her and asked her to paint around the cut and to please please make sure NOT to touch it with any of the nail polish. All I can think about is how much other people’s blood was mixed into the nail polish now. What do you think she does? She paints the base coat SO close to the cut. Fucking bitch! At this point I am just pissed off. I spent the rest of the time worrying about my cut. Not pleasant. When I was done with my manicure I got up and realized my whole toe and shoe was covered in dripping blood(see photo). And you know what the first thing she said to me was? «Did you hit your toe on something?» Okay, seriously. Stop blaming me for your mistake. After wiping off all the blood from my toe and shoe, I had to go and complain to the manager and owner. I rarely do this, but I was really upset. They didn’t speak much English. They tried to give me a free voucher for next time but I told them I never want to come back. After a while, they gave me a refund back on my credit card. I know the manager felt very bad and I appreciate that. But if she was smart, she would re-evaluate her staff. NEVEREVEREVEREVERRRRCOMINGBACK! And please do yourself a favor and don’t come here — no matter how good a $ 23 mani/pedi deal is, it isn’t worth a bloody toe.

So, there are obviously MANY«Chelsea» nail salons, as seen on Unilocal. In between my crack-er caffeine fix at Joe the Art of Coffee and the career fair I had last week, I stopped in there for a manicure. The ladies(Nepalese) were super duper friendly and talkative. It was nice, to not feel like the entire time, someone else was having a conversation, but not with you. Here’s the thing — manicures never last for me. Seriously. I had this on Thursday, and there was chippage by Saturday/Sunday. I sat there at let them dry for 25 minutes, as I am ALWAYS smudging them. They did not smudge, but they have begun to chip. But, like I said, my manis really never ever last. Ladies, can you give me pointers on that?

Went in for my first pedicure and it was very pleasant. I never knew that I had so much dead skin and old cuticles. It was a nice experience and she did a good, quick job. In hindsight, I should have taken advantage of the mani/pedi special. That would have only been $ 5 more.

chelsea nail and spa is the only place i’ll go to get my nails done, especially my pedicures, which are $ 27 and worth it! they have a lot of cheap extra add-ons like the quick-drying top coat for $ 1 that also strengthens your nails. unless you go mountain climbing barefoot, the pedicure can last for a month! well, also depending how fast or slow your nails grow. the workers are friendly and are always quick to greet you. also, i’d get the foot massage during the pedicure. they’re awesome!

OK, so I am assuming that this is the same salon as the one listed as Chelsea Nails. However, according to my receipt it is Chelsea Nail and Spa and so that is what I am Unilocaling under. I can’t believe that I never frequented this place when I worked in the area. What can I say about this salon? Convenient. This nail salon is located near the corner of 23rd and 9th Avenue. The draw was that they offer a Monday all day special of $ 33.00 for a mani/pedi. It was a warm day, my toes needed to be out, and my nails and toes looked like I had been clawing my way out of a cave. I was greeted at the door and the staff was helpful and friendly. The environment was clean and relaxing. The staff not overly chatty, yet they were not standoffish either. They tack on a lot of extras like $ 5 for heel scraper and $ 1 for quik dry, but no pressure. Next time I am in the area getting my brows threaded at Unique I will pop in for a mani/pedi…especially if it is a Monday. My sandals will be very happy to get some sun thanks to Chelsea Nail and Spa. As the governor of my home state might say, «I’ll be back!»
