The cakes and cookies here are AWESOMEEE! The pieces are BIG! I really loved their tiramisu! Must try it!

Somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. We stopped by one afternoon hungry and tried, went in and sat down near the window. I ordered a chicken-pesto-prosciutto-cheese-other ingredients sandwich. It was not a sandwich, it was a small tight canon and another similar one right next to it on my plate. A BIG sandwich cut into two portions. Holy New York portions! I was an utter pig and polished it off. Only had trouble at the end with the second half. The customer service was friendly and nice. FYI — They do not have a rest-room.

Cheap and big sizes! I just can’t stand that I got it cold and the service is very slow!

Was in the neighborhood after an errand and was craving breakfast! I’m familiar with Chelsea since I lived there for 10 years. So I decided to walk in to Chelsea Deli and Bakery for a quick to go bite! Ordered a bacon egg n provolone. Noticed the gentleman behind the counter near the kitchen area started looking for something which at that moment didn’t have a clue. As he is searching inside the refrigerator where some of the already food for display has been made, I noticed he took out a ziplock plastic container, once he placed on the counter and opened it you can see it was cheese that had gone bad and not to mention it had mole on it! Ok I get it, working in a restaurant/deli/bakery things can go bad I do understand that. What I didn’t appreciate is that he had it out there for me the paying customer to see! He looked at me but I played it off as if I didn’t see anything. He went to the back of the kitchen where my food was being prepared and I’m assuming that it was thrown out! Then I started to say to myself, if he placed that cheese right in front of me, what else is back there bad that I cannot see? I ran for the hills! Lol, I’d rather spend my money elsewhere knowing that I have a visual of my food being cooked. I’m more comfortable being able to see the cooks handling food I’m going to pay for and eat! I don’t recommend this!

Cannoli’s were amazing. Even on New Year’s Eve delivery was super fast. I ordered online and received my order 5 minutes later!

I ordered coffee, it wasn’t the best. My friend seemed to like their dessert. It was about on the sweet side for us, but to be honest, we don’t eat many sweets anyway. I would stop by here just for convenience. I don’t think I’d actively seek it out just to grab something quick from here.

Greasy food that will hurt your stomach. Don’t eat here! Also, bizarrely, they’re a sit down restaurant that doesn’t have a bathroom – only in NY!

I ordered from them via Seamless, and the first problem was that the potatoes were missing from my omelette. I called Seamless and was given a measly $ 1 refund. Yay. /s Then I bite into my omelette and discover that the muenster delight I was expecting was, instead, a generic American-cheese disappointment. Another call to Seamless, and I’m told to wait for a call back. The return call tells me the deli is remaking my omelette and will deliver it «soon» but – get this – I’m expected to give them the old omelette in exchange, some sort of Egg-based Ransom, food-hostage negotiations I had no part in, just to get what I wanted in the first place, most likely now with a side of bacteria-infested saliva thrown in, gratis. It’s now 30 minutes since that return call and more than an hour since my original order, not to mention 3:30pm, well past the acceptable weekday hour for eating breakfast foods, even when one is a freelance writer throwing on a dress over one’s nightie to answer to door for one’s takeout food in a half-assed effort to seem presentable.(Need I mention the deli is a five-minute walk from my current location? I need.) I could have made five beautiful muenster-cheese omelettes, with glorious potatoes, in the time I’ve been waiting, including the trip to the overpriced Gristedes on the corner. Of course, I don’t think the dress-over-nightie would’ve cut it for that journey. Oh omelette, oh omelette, wherefore art thou?(Yes, I know this doesn’t mean what it means, but it sounded cool & I’m going with it. Plus, I’m hangry.)

Completely misleading. They keep a huge sign outside saying that an omelette with coffee is 7.95. You get inside to get the deal and they are extremely rude to tell you that you don’t get any coffee and the price is 8.95. I argued that I only went inside because of the sign but they don’t seem to care. Never coming back. Ever.

The sandwich maker Nadem, is a nightmare! He is so rude to Customers and not professional. The only thing is good about the place is open 24 hours and Manager Johanne. He is awesome, friendly and outgoing all the time. Little pricey place but it’s okay!

Fall of 2014, stopped in for breakfast of an omelette, fries, iced tea. Nothing about the visit was horrible, but I was not tempted to stop in again, although it was close to my hotel and on my way to practically everywhere I was going.

I come here to have a little bit of sweets after a meal. I like their tiny cup cakes decorated with pink frost even though it’s pricy. Two bites. It’s gone! Very creamy and tasty. It seems new owner ‘Steven’ invested additional money to keep the cup cakes cool and tidy. I know I will keep coming back for the sweets. I tried their soup in cold winter day. It was not that appetizing as cup cakes.

Horrible. There are similar reviews on Seamless too so don’t even bother ordering food from this place unless you want to spend $ 18 on bagels and wait over an hour for it to arrive when you live a 5 minute walk away. Please close down.

I just had two fantastic experiences eating breakfast here. The staff were friendly and sweet and the omelettes I ordered were delicious. I would set this at one ‘$’ not ‘$$’ especially for New York City.

Bonafide sandwiches with a nice variety of pastries. Chelsea offers a nice variety of breads, vegetables and cheeses. I ordered the vege panini and was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of mushrooms, aside from that, I’m satisfied and will come back to try the pancakes. I changed my rating from a 4 to a 3 because they don’t have restrooms for their customers.

I have been to Chelsea Bakery a few times and the food never disappoints. On my most recent visit I had a toasted plain cream cheese bagel and an iced green tea. It was very delicious and filling. One minor improvement they could make would be cleanliness. The tables are not the cleanest, but it is not the end of the world. It is no worse than most small shops in NYC.

They have wide selections of dessert but I love their chocolate cupcake and chocolate cake. They also have deli sandwiches and panini. Good thing we didn’t order dessert and royal Siam Thai cuisine coz this is just right next to it!
