CLOSED! I have been going there for over 15 years — it was called Venus restaurant until about a year ago. Always one of my favorite diners. However, on my last visit they served me some nasty old chicken with my pasta. I thought it was a fluke and sent it back. Ordered chicken fingers. Again — nasty old rubber chicken. It nearly made me sick after the first bite. I couldn’t believe it. The waiter just stared at me with a blank look — like I was making it up. I had to tell him to take it away and take it off my bill. A few days later is was closed. Sign is the window says For Rent. Buh bye.

The food was simply ok. I only gave it an extra star because the veggie burger had good flavor but it could hardly be called a burger since it was falling apart the moment I picked it up. What really made this place fall short was the deplorable service I got from the waitress. Being someone who has worked in the customer service industry for quite some time, I always try to be extra courteous to my fellow industry workers. From the moment she arrived at the table she seemed like she couldn’t be bothered. She rolled her eyes at me when I couldn’t decide a choice of cheese fast enough and was rude to my boyfriend when he said he wanted his eggs «omelet style». Would never go back.

Let me be very very blunt and I do hope the owners read this, WHEN you fail know you did it to yourself
Let me start with the food
French onion soup — you can not melt the cheese in a microwave, it should be placed under a broiler and cooked util bubbling and browned
The fries — they tasted like unclean oil and were not seasoned. Rule 101 salt and pepper fries right out of the fryer so the seasoning sticks
The service — the bus boy or waited smelled so strongly of sweat and alcohol.
The «younger» male owner, his behavior towards in shape homosexuals men in very uncomfortable for I would imagine them but defiantly those trying to enjoy some part of a meal around this mans outlandish and inappropriate flirtatious behavior but what he did next was really the icing on the cake.
The icing on the shitty cake — the OWNER needed to call the nyc tax department, he called from the restaurant on SPEAKER PHONE. You rude, lazy dumb f*%k you have the nerve to make calls over speaker phone in the restaurant for all to hear? This is how you treat your customers as an owner?
It’s prob 1 star but here is a second one out of pitty…
You owned venus for many many years and now have slapped some lipstick on the pig but it’s the same spot making the most superficial of efforts to «improve.» Truly disappointing.

I had breakfast at The Fork, and I would never recommend it to anyone.
It was not busy, and service was fast, which is why I gave it 2 stars.
The food was very tasteless. There were eggshells in the omelet, and lipstick on the glass of water. The coffee was very weak.

Love their turkey soup ! Been here few times, ordered take out. Can’t say a lot about food, cause I usually get the same — soup and appetizer.
Would love to see more appetizers though, something like grape leaves or fried zucchini ;)
Also they serve Savingon Blanc «matua» which is a really nice bottle.

Recently renovated (space & menu), but same owners and food. Was called New Venus before and I personally think this is the best diner in Chelsea, along with the Dish, so I’m giving it 4-​stars among diners. Food is good quality, fast, place is spotless and service is great. And they’ll make anything exactly the way you want it and they’re open 24hrs and I’ve had food delivered at like 3am on a Tuesday. High recommend over all the other terrible diners in Chelsea (Star 18 diner, Rail Line diner, Chelsea Square, etc.).

Service wasn’t all that especially when I received my Belgian waffle with stale butter packaged. Food tasted horrible and I told the waiter I didn’t like the taste of the food and he didn’t even do anything to accommodate me. He was more worried about leaving his shift. Will not come back again.

excellent service for a diner! we went for brunch and had Nutella pancakes… exceptional …and a western omelete. which is ok. the sides came out Luke warm. but tasted ok. food is 3 star but service is 5 star.

Not a bad spot for brunch! No wait. Decent food and fast! We all know how difficult it is to get brunch on wkds!
