This is an all right location. I’ve been to better Caffebenes’. Firstly, they do not give out those cards where if you get 10 stamps, you get a free coffee. Other Caffebenes’ do this, but this one, for some peculiar reason, does not. Also, in the back, where most of the seats are, the outlets do not work and have been closed off. I highly recommend this location fixes this if they want more patrons and get higher ratings. Other than that, the coffee and food is like any other Caffebene. No big deal.

I find it very weird this location gets scathing reviews. Sure I didn’t get accosted by a homeless man, but in terms of goods and services, they’re pretty consistent– with me. I’m just here to say they have outlets and the coco lime thing wasn’t very limey. Fix that? Please?

Internet connection doesn’t work. Seems like it only supports a small number of users… kinda useless setup in downtown Manhattan, if you ask me! Food is rather meh, so combination of hardwood tacky chairs, tiny tables, no power outlets, and zero wifi means I will be spending my money somewhere else. I doubt the owner/managers will care since this is a Korean owned chain and they are too dense to know how the internet world works…

I come here occasionally because I at least like their iced coffee(but I do not like their hot coffee) and it’s a convenient location to go to if I need to get some work done, but honestly, it’s not that great, and the small annoyances are almost not worth it. For one, the wifi hasn’t worked for me in months. Second, the employees are not friendly at all. One cashier was busy chatting with one of the other employees while I was waiting, so I looked down at my phone for a few seconds, and the next thing I knew, she was at the register glaring at me like I should have known she was ready to take my order, not even bothering to say anything to call me over or draw my attention. And then she gave me the stink eye the whole time taking my order and payment. Third, they don’t provide complimentary soy milk at the condiment bar anymore — they charge for it. Also the chairs in the back part of the seating area are awkwardly low and slanted. Like, it’s nearly impossible to sit back and use a laptop or something on the table because you’re tilted so far away from the table. I have to sit at one of the stools at the counters or tall tables, but then have no back on my seat. Thank goodness there are other coffee shops to go to around there.

*My GF and I went here and got food poisoning from this location in January of 2016.* Please understand that I’m not writing this review lightly. It’s taken me a couple months to consider writing it but I think it’s time. This is a really big warning to other customers like me, and I want you to know that this was confirmed by my doctor and I submitted a formal complaint with the nyc dept of health. We ate cheesecake, or rather, tried to. The cheesecake we were served was the consistency of the bottom of a shoe — I don’t know if we were mistakenly served cheesecake for display only or if this was the state of all their cakes. I only took one bite and she did the same but that was enough to give us the most awful food poisoning for the next three days, starting a mere 5 hours after eating the cake. We were down for the count. We couldn’t eat or even drink water without immediately vomiting, and also had other symptoms which I will not name. We returned the shoe leather cake(without even getting a sorry) and promptly left because, in addition to this, a very drunk man was harassing me within the café, and the workers there did nothing. This isn’t just a bad review — this is a shady place that doesn’t really care about food quality. I’m not sure about how the other locations are run but I seriously wouldn’t recommend going to any Caffe Bene — you are risking your health.

This is what a coffee shop should be, plenty of seats, tables, wifi, outlets, and of course a full selection of not just coffee but gelato, sandwiches, and baked goods. Probably ranks as my number 2 place to study next to Argo Tea on University

This seems like a good place for getting work done if you bring your laptop. Enjoy the free Wi-Fi. Do not, however, get the cheesecake. Just don’t. This is kind of random but There’s some pretty grainy hair conspicuously hanging off of the wall see photo attached.

I ordered the green tea gelato with a waffle and ehh. This is probably the worst green tea gelato I had so far. The waffle was crispy and probably glazed with sugar since it was evenly dark. The waffle was bland and usually the ice cream saves the waffle but not here. The mocha frap was similar to a starbucks frap — sugary goodness. The tomato soup was interesting; it wasn’t your normal runny tomato soup. It was creamy and they definitely had a twist to it since it was orange and I couldn’t make out the special ingredient but I enjoyed it! I LOVE the ambiance here. Check out the pictures I took. This is a great spot for chatting and people watching — lots of stylish people come here!

Prices are totaly rediculous! But I have to say it did look liked a cozy place! Great if you are planning on staying a while with some friends or by yourself with a laptop! Prices are high but the quality or the coffee and snacks was really good. so do as you must! Hope this review helps!

I like this location because they have soup and panini sandwiches that are quite tasty! The(major) downside for me is their cleanliness… or lack thereof. Their bathroom is basically a war zone — not sure if it’s because of the rude customers or the lazy staff(maybe a mix of both?). Tables are usually left dirty and unattended to. Would come back for a bite to go, but maybe not to stay…

Great coffee and a wonderful place to hide away and do homework or office work. The atmosphere is comfy and inviting.

Despite being in a busy part of Manhattan near Union Square, this place was fairly empty and quiet on a Friday morning — making it a great work spot. Sadly, it got much more crowded and louder in the afternoon, after lunchtime so I had to go. But…the wifi was decent, the bathroom was relatively clean(as far as frequently trafficked public bathrooms go), and the chicken-and-avocado sandwich I had was tasty(if also pricey for what it was). I would go back to work here!

If you are looking for a good cup of café latte and a place to chat with your friend, this is the right place. — clean and nice décor — spacious with lot of seatings — good cup of café latte($ 3.5 for small) — turkey and bacon panini is pretty good($ 8) — waffle is good while it is warm — don’t taste the same when it is cold

So I was only able to get coffee but there were so many yummy snacks that I was tempted to try! I love Americano coffee but no place seems to get it as good as Europe, Ireland to be exact. Ever since I tried Americano overseas Ive been trying to find a good place over here and I finally have. There is a lot of space because the place goes all the way back but it is definitely cozy. As far as the snacks they were very expensive. $ 3 for a macaroon about $ 5 for a pastry. The more creative you get as far as drinks, naturally they cost more money. The service was quick, they weren’t super friendly but not miserable either. I definitely intend come back to this place even if its a different location.

Just went on a walk to get a yummy fruity beverage at caffebene and it is SO nice out! I like cute cozy café … A lot of people go to places like that to be trendy and get there work and reading done… Oh, and if you’re going to caffeebene try there specialty drinks(I love them, personally, atmosphere wise)… More often than not, they’re more expensive but BETTER… because there’s so many options… and less crowded because majority of the people are all at Starbucks.

People usually come here to get the bingsoo and that’s what my friend and I did. Paid over $ 14 for the mango bingsoo. Mango Bingsoo — 0⁄5 — A disappointing experience. The mangoes are sour. There was some weird cream, my friend said it was yogurt, that is flavorless and did nothing for the dessert. By itself it is disgusting. You would think it would taste better if you eat it with the mangoes and ice. WRONG! It just ruin everything. I don’t understand why this is one of their popular items. End up throwing out half of it. I only like that this place is not as crowded and the air conditioner is on full blast. If you feel cold, you can also step outside. There is outdoor seating. To use the bathroom, you must buy an item because the code is on the receipt. The place and vibe of the place is great. The sweets, not so much.

To me, caffébene is not much different than Starbucks, but I’m not a coffee connoisseur. I prefer tea as my pick me up drink. However, they serve quality tea bags in steaming hot water for $ 2.45. That’s super cheap by NYC standards. It hit the spot. A double shot cappuccino is $ 4.50. Cookies are a bit expensive at $ 3.00 though. Check out the bottom of your receipt for their WIFI password.

All I smell is the sweet aroma of waffles in the air… I needed a caffeine boost the other day after shopping for some gear in the area. Decided to take a seat in here as it was nice and empty on a snowy Sunday evening. Can’t complain at all really. Service was ok. Also ordered a tasty sandwich to go along with my skim café mocha. Yeah, skim. Hey, gotta watch my sexy figure! Sat up front at a large communal table and checked email while relaxing a bit. Large spot with plenty of seating in front and back areas. Saw lots of outlets too for those looking to charge up. Seems like a bunch of stuff on the menu to nosh on. Wifi and bathroom code on your receipt so don’t lose it. A decent alternative to Starbucks.
