This was reported closed but I came here 10÷9÷15 and they were open for business. The place is small but clean. The staff was friendly and let us sample flavors. m The moment I tasted my litte spoonful, I was instantly transported to Italy. Two flavors in a small cup for $ 4.95. Delicious and worth every penny. I tried Mascarpone and Hazelnut gelato. Hubby had Coffee gelato. All flavors were out of this world! Come try it, you won’t regret it. Make sure to hit the ATM before you come as it is cash only.

I’ve had gelato — and then I’ve had gelato. This place is the latter and not the former and my, my, I was pleasantly satisfied with the selections. Our mom visited NYC for the week and she had her first try of gelato. We were originally going to The Big Gay Ice Cream Shop but the line was from here to Neptune so Dolce reeled us in. I got the 2 flavor cup: passion fruit and mango. My sister got wild berry and peach, and my mom got passion fruit, mango, and peach. The selections were fresh and the place was humming. Please be advised, this place is cash only and the selections are on the pricer end but for the quality offered, I’ll gladly come again and again. Oh, they’re generous as heck as giving you all the flavor samples your happy and indecisive heart desires. Well worth it.

Came across this spot entirely by accident, but I’m glad I did. Classic Gelato with no pretences. Love it!

These are the best tasting gelato I’ve ever had. Been here twice. Dragged some co-workers once. Dragged more co-workers a second time. Next time, it is time to see about that discount card. TRUTH. I’ve had many kinds of gelatos but these are something else. Every flavor tastes remarkably fresh. Every flavor is on point. And they aren’t shy about samples. They are made in-house fresh each day and each day I find myself craving gelatos. I guess I never have to go fruit shopping at the grocery any more. I can just come here to get all the Vitamin C I need. FLAVORS as of July 2015 — 1) Pistachio — Amazing pistachio flavor. VERY nutty. I love it. 2) Stracciatella — Not sure what this taste like. More on the creamy side. Kind of like mild candy? Hard to describe. 3) Figs & Honey — Newtons? Yes 4) Olive Oil — Resembles too much like Olive Oil. So on point. Probably the only flavor I did not like. 5) Rice Pudding — Rice? Asian? Need I say more? So good. 6) Coconut — Great coconut taste. 7) Oreo Cookies — If you like Oreos… 8) Salted Caramel — TASTESEXACTLYLIKEWERTHER’S CANDY. 9) Chocolate — Dark. 10) Orange Lemon Zest — Vitamin C intake. DONE. They also have Sorbet. 1) Chocolate — Fudge well. 2) Passion Fruit — my favorite. 3) Mango — YES. 4) Peach — Brings out the Southerner in you. 5) Honeydew — Dews well. 6) Strawberry — Not Smucker’s. 7) Watermelon — FRESH. I was curious the second time I went here. Curious of what? Curious about the buns in the glass case. Turns out, they are just brioche buns that you order with scoops of gelato or sorbet. The gelato and sorbet are great. The buns were just okay. I would have much preferred waffle sandwich buns. The buns tasted like regular buns that I could get at Key Foods. Great for before date or after date. Perfect for a hot summer day or night. FAN.

A rather spacious and large corner gelateria, Dolce Gelato presents a good range of both Italian and American flavors to choose from. Authentic gelato is made fresh every day, and I have to say that it is darn close if not the same as the gelato I’ve tried in Italy. The staff is attentive, but a bit aloof. It is relatively expensive for the amount you get. And for the amount of space they have, there aren’t a lot of seats. The place is mostly open space, but I guess that gives it the airy, cool feel. I tried the Stracciatella and Tiramisu, and I recommend both. They were creamy and perfectly sweet. They really satisfied my gelato cravings.

I love coming here. It makes me feel so carefree, walking around with a gelato cone in the Village. I love the flavors they make like Fig & Honey, Dolce di Latte, Ferrero Rocher and all they’re other amazing flavors. Always fresh and never runny or liquified, which is one of my pet peeves when it comes to ice cream parlors and gelatarias but this place is always on point. The staff is always polite, the prices are consistent. It’s a great place for a summer dessert. I’ve been coming to this spot before they changed their name and they still had a vintage Fiat outside the store and I have yet to be disappointed.

This little cute place was so great! I love that they let you have two flavors per cone. It was pretty light for a gelato but refreshing. My friend and I loved the flavors that we had. The guys serving seemed like they truly enjoyed being there. And they are smart because they put a sample of a third flavor on the cone. It Makes you want to come back, which We will! Tip: it’s cash only.

Best ice cream I’ve ever had in Manhattan. I’ve spent a lot of time in Italy and their ice cream, as you may know, is on another level of awesome. Dolce Gelato is as close as I have ever come to authentic Italian gelato in the United States. I stop there even when I don’t want ice cream, because it’s irresistible. My favorite«staple» favors are hazelnut, pistachio, nutella, milk chocolate. Their rice pudding is epic, and their dolce di latte is worth trying too. Don’t stand for mediocrity anymore — come here!

E-Scale: 10⁄10 If you want dessert that looks like spaghetti, come here. The gelato is out of this world and the fact that they can make it look like noodles is pretty cool. My favorite flavor is the spicy chocolate. Raspberry sauce is the best cause it looks like actual marinara. I always visit here whenever I’m in the West Village.

I stopped by after dinner and had a small cup of stracciatella and then decided to try the affogato al caffe-vanilla gelato with espresso and whipped cream. Delicious. Would recommend and return.

It’s a shame they insist on gimmicks and lackluster serving vessels here, because it creates a misconception that it’s to mask mediocre gelato*. Having scored gelato here back when it was L’arte(its current iteration is AKA Dolce Gelateria, per their FB and B&M signage, and elsewhere), walked in to the familiar space on a beautiful afternoon as the only patron and the staffer seemed a bit perturbed he had to stand up. Tried samples(limit 2) cactus pear and lychee, both were alright. I’d come to redeem the BOGO with NYUID and FB, and he only asked for the latter, so after showing the screenshot he let me know it was for a small cone or cup only. I made the poor decision to go with the tempting-looking ‘italian cone’, which was stale and/or bland; to add insult to injury, it was a terrible vessel for product, empty for the bottom 95%. The scoops barely fit out the top and were not as aesthetically as Amorino flowers(same vein, though). The handoff was awkward because he didn’t understood why I tried handing him the $ 5(cash only) before he could give me the second(and then the dime just turned it into comedy hour). Darted to Father Demo to consume(yes right in, front of grom) and 3 of the 4 flavors saved the day: pumpkin: true squash flavor with proper spicing + cinnamon: excellent dolce di latte: excellent(described as caramel, and staffer was unable to answer my question on the difference between it and the lighter one labeled ‘caramel’) + figs and honey: underwhelming If they focus more on what to serve IN, which distracts from very good product, they might have more success, as a lackluster experience with a gimmick doesn’t make for regulars). At $ 4.90 for a reasonable amount of gelato, I could come back lured by a BOGO, and would go with a pain di gelato or cup. *Not quite, but the spaghetti and meatballs here is kinda like how Dominique Ansel’s DKA is better and less newsworthy than the cronut.

I had the spaghetti gelato because I’m a sucker for clever ideas like that. It was pretty tasty but more for presentation purposes. I recommend giving it a shot for only $ 6.50. I also had the rice pudding and Nutella flavors. In addition, I admire the great quality and friendly service. There’s two tables inside with two stools each and also a bench right outside. I will definitely go here again to sample the many other flavors.

Gelato galore without breaking the bank! Here lies a much more affordable option compared to its nearby competitor, Grom. With a party of two on a Tuesday afternoon as we indulge in each others’ sweet delightful company. Dolce Gelato is formed by one of the original partners of L’Arte del Gelato as I had no idea about the two proprietors business differences which lead to separation. The concept of American food comfort flavors for gelato is appealing, but I still believe gelato should be kept authentic in its base Italian ingredients. The scoop holder is synchronized for placement in the metallic canisters in the fridge with a piece of the chocolate Ferrero Rocher that adds a nice presentation. Minimal seating is available. Clean atmosphere. Staff is attentive and friendly. Free samples are available to lure patrons for purchase. A small cup $ 4.50 can be filled with two flavors. For Him: Stracciatella and(I think) Red Bean For Her: Tiramisu and Ferrero Rocher Note: No facilities on the premise! I recommend finding a facility at a nearby Starbucks.

Hazelnut is perfection. Pistachio is very close to perfection, just wish I’d had more atrial pistachio pieces in it. Almond mocha was nice too. The portions are unnecessarily big for gelato.

pistachio Gelato(toes curl) The quality of the Gelato was a creamy flavorful treat. If your watching ur calories get a small cup, it was enough to satisfy my low carb craziness. The store was inviting & most importantly… clean. Loved the little«cone» holders on the table. Customer service was on point, I got all the free samples i wanted: O) Verdict: –great lil place to go with friends/partner –Yes, I would visit this location again. –I have several other Gelati to explore –They also have a selection of Sorbetti getting’ a waffle cone next time…

Mango gelato is really really good, very mango-y. I tried a few flavors but most common ones are a little too sweet for me. But I like things less sweet, so it is just my taste. Overall, greats little gelato shop. Clean and nice.

Pretty average. Location is great. Gelato, however, is not very creamy. What they do have is the Spaghetti Gelato, which is a quirky gimmick. Kids(and kids at heart) will enjoy the humor of eating ice cream that looks like spaghetti. Pricey but acceptable for a one-time event. Would I return? Not necessarily. Nor, however, would I avoid it. Cash only.

Stopped by this little gelateria after dinner one night. I had passed by the storefront on the way to the restaurant earlier that night and had noticed a few patrons being served. But when I had got there later in the evening, roughly around 8pm, it was empty. The lady behind the counter was so adorable and friendly and didn’t hesitate to let me try a couple of flavors. It’s your traditional Italian flavors. Nothing here is over the top or adventurous that would immediately make want to try it. But the flavors were natural and not too sweet which were all pluses to me. I got PISTACHIO and NUTELLA. The value? In between. $ 4.90 for a small is a bit pricey in my book. Would I go out of my way to come here? No.

Spaghetti & Meatballs Gelato. That’s what drew me in here, and you should come in too, because it’s really good($ 6.50 and only available to eat in). No, it’s not gelato that tastes like spaghetti & meatballs or anything like that. It’s regular gelato, crafted in a really cool and creative way to look like a bowl of spaghetti and meatballs: — Spaghetti = thin strands of vanilla gelato — Meatball = a little ball of any flavor of your choosing(go with Mochaccino for a tasty choice and a color that will look close to a meatball) — Red Sauce = Strawberry Sauce It’s not like it’s the best I’ve ever had or anything like that, but it does happen to taste really excellent, and it is fun to eat and Instagram to impress/annoy all your friends. This was my second dessert stop of the night, so that’s all we tried. I’ll definitely be back though to try the peanut butter flavor as well as one of those brioche gelato sandwiches that are always awesome.

This is some of the best Gelato that I’ve tasted to date! Not too sweet, not too bland… For me, it’s just right. My favorites are Pistachio and Mango. Just wish they had more sitting space!
