This is for delivery service. I am between 8th and 7th ave and they won’t deliver to me since I am «technically» past 8th Ave. A HALF of a block past 8th. I’d said I’d even meet the guy on the corner of 8th and he said nope. WOW, just wow.

The #5 sandwich with peppered salami and Dijon I had from Bottino was fresh and had all ingredients in the PERFECT proportions. The service was really fast and the price is fair(~$ 8 a sandwich) for the portions you get. I definitely loved this place and I’ll be back again!

For college students, value often takes priority over quality and I am ashamed to admit I have, on occasion, considered heading to the Subway next door over instead of paying for a smaller sandwich at Bottino. Luckily for me though, I have yet to succumb to these moments of weakness. The sandwiches at Bottino are amazing! I’ve been around this area several times before/after a gallery day and been desperately searching for a cheap meal. Now, I know to add this place to my regular rotation. If you come around lunch time, the line can get kind of crazy, but they’ve got a system down and process orders fairly quickly. In fact, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to make a decision on what to order before it was my turn. Luckily, it seems that the sandwiches here are great no matter what you choose. Even the ones that sound simple(you might be thinking«what possible turkey sandwich could be good enough to justify an $ 8 price tag») are great. The condiments meld perfectly with the deli meats and the focaccia — OHMYGOD the focaccia! I swear, this was some of the best bread I’ve ever had. It’s so fluffy and airy and I’ve never understood how my roommate can just snack on bread alone, but now I know. I’ve been thinking about that focaccia ever since and I can’t wait to go back.

Stopped here for lunch on the way to a meeting and I must say… they have a system down! The shop is very small and the line winds around the open space they have inside. The menu is on the wall and easy to read with a lot of great salad and sandwich choices. One of the staff members would yell out«next» and that person would yell out their order so by the time you get to the cashier your order is ready just as you wanted. There isn’t a lot of room to modify your salads since they are mostly pre-made to for time saving. I ordered a sandwich and it was so delicious and very fresh! Oh, and you can call ahead to place your order too which is nice. The short wait was worth it! Would definitely come here again if I am in the area.

Great sandwich, salad, and sides place with fresh meat and cheese ingredients. I have only had pleasant experiences here. You can order ahead or wait in line. The price point is great compared to the surrounding options. I highly recommend.

Bottino never disappoints. It’s the best sandwich and salad lunch option in the area; nowhere even comes close to its quality for the price. I’ve had half of the menu at this point, and have never been disappointed with any of the salads or sandwiches. The lunch crowd is here in full force from 12−2 – if you try«outsmarting» the lunch crowd by coming here after 2, you run the risk of them running out of what you wanted to order. The one thing you should know about this place is that although it’s crowded, things move quickly. The line wraps around itself and gets long, so you might be tempted to pull out your phone, zone out, and mindlessly shuffle through the line. Don’t do that until you get the hang of ordering here. You see, there are two places in line to keep track of. There’s the main queue, where the first person in line is paying, and the last person has just arrived. And then there’s who in the line is ordering next. It goes like this: there’s the«order master» who stands behind the counter and loudly asks, «Who’s next?» The next person in line who hasn’t ordered yet yells out their order, «Number 6, sandwich, on focaccia.» And then the order master quickly moves to the next person. There’s no physical indication(like being in the front of the line) that you’re next to order, you just have to pay attention to when the person in front of you orders. And when you order, it’s a concise, well defined convention that everyone uses. The menu number of the item, sandwich or salad(they both go 1 – 18 so this indicates which side of the menu), and if it’s a sandwich, what kind of bread. My advice is to study the menu a little beforehand if it’s your first time because it all happens so fast that it can be intimidating. You don’t want to be caught flat footed when the«Who’s next» is directed at you. After you order, then you can pull out your phone and zone out a little bit while you shuffle through the line – or as I like to do, stare at the cookies and cakes and play the«should I get one» game.

OK, not great. If you’re nearby then it’s worth a try; but would never(again) go out of my way to specifically come here. The place is a big mess. Line loops whenever it pleases and there is no rhyme or reason to how the process is organized. A guy from way behind the counter is constantly screaming«next» and every customer has to scream their order over other people. It gets annoying after about 5 orders. Then once you pay and if your sandwich is not ready yet, you’re yet again standing aimlessly by a wall waiting until someone calls you, who knows when. They don’t take names so I guess let’s hope you didn’t order the same thing somebody else did. Also their online process are not updated and are misleading. Even twice the price on some times, like the iced tea which is $ 2 online but $ 4 in-store.

This is my go-to place for lunch Monday-Friday. Lucky for me, I don’t have to take my lunch break with the rest of Chelsea and therefore don’t have to wait on a long line – sometimes out the door. My favorite menu item is a #2 on whole grain. That is, prosciutto, mascarpone, arugula and tomato. The bread is hearty and ingredients are so fresh. If you’re going to spend $ 8 – 9 on a sandwich, do it here. There are about 18ish sandwich options, salads, veggie lasagna, bread pudding, pasta salad, quinoa salad, beet salad, fruit salad and soups. They have coffee and an assortment of baked goods too. During the summer get the Ginger Mint Lemonade. So refreshing!

This is the go to lunch place for my coworkers and me. The sandwiches and salads are always fresh and there is no other place in the area like it. I definitely recommend coming here to grab lunch, however to save time, call to place your order so you can skip the line in person.

Absolutely horrible customer service and they should be ashamed of the way they treat their customers. Instead of trying to accommodate their customers, they fight them on their order details and charge extra for their own mistakes. Will never order from them again.

Worst food. Worst service. No one speaks English. Delivery is always hours late. I would never eat at this wasteland again. Avoid at all costs unless you don’t need your order until 2016.

Four times here and my experiences are divided between a 3 and a 5. 5 star sandwiches: 9 ½ and 15(also the option with brie cheese but I don’t remember the number). Very nice combinations, decent portions. 3 star sandwiches: 6 and 8 .Meh, a little bland and expensive for what’s in them. Always ordered in multigrain bread which is delicious. No tables available, but you can sit by the windows(2 places by each window, that means 4 customers sitting in total). The service is very fast and it doesn’t get too crowded in case you’re in a rush. Worth trying after seeing the art galleries around!

Food 4 stars except the sandwiches with nicer meats. 2 slices does not a prosciutto sandwich make Delivery 2 stars If you say delivery is about 25 min, 90 min is ridiculous 30 – 45 min turned into an hour and counting This happens all the time! Jus be realistic, upfront and honest If I call for delivery at 1 and you tell me 30 – 45 min and I have to leave the house at 2:30 I think okay, no problem. At 2:15 still no food… I have to leave at 15 min, even if it shows up, I won’t get to eat it… thanks bottino

I will admit I purely decided to try this place out b/c of the ratings on Unilocal and am happy to say that I was not disappointed. There was a bit of a line as I got there around 12:30 but it moved pretty quickly. I ordered the tuna sandwiched and chose the olive bread. Unfortunately when it came time to pay I looked closely at the bill, which was higher than I had expected and low and behold the cashier had charged me $.75 more. I know, it’s only $.75 but I really don’t like when merchants make those«errors» — always in their favor. I pointed it out and after faining confusion, she efunded me the difference. The sandwich was fabulous — great tuna salad and really fabulous bread. Just be sure to check the amount on your check.

Sandwiches here are packed and is as big as the size of your fist. Located just about a block off of the high line park, bottino take out offers a variety of sandwiches on multi grain, rye, baguette or sour dough bread. The one sandwich I always get is #18 which has mottzarella, tomatoes, prosciutto and baby arugula all in between two slices of multigrain bread. The bread and all products is all done on premises. Bottino offers fresh salad greens, and vegan friendly salads. They have a display case of all the fresh salad made daily. I came here maybe once or twice before when I’m near the Chelsea/highline area in the city. I remembered the sandwiches were really good and big. So I had to come back and rekindle what I had remembered. Recommendation: Sandwich #18!

Bottino Take-Out is one of those places that makes simple sandwiches incredibly well. Sandwiches that feature a short list of fresh, high quality, and well prepared ingredients in classic combinations. While I’m a huge fan of crazy creative sandwiches, there’s something to be said for the«keep it simple, stupid“method. When you’ve got the right pieces you don’t need much else.

Fairly standard Italian style deli sandwiches. I wasn’t too impressed with their baguettes, perhaps a sourdough roll or foccacia would’ve been better options. Their prosciutto was tasty though, as was their mozzarella. If you couldn’t tell, I ordered the very last sandwich on the list. Supposedly it had some type of dressing over the arugula, but I really couldn’t taste it. The chicken, avocado that my friend got looked tasty, I’m going to try that next time. You should pick up a sandwich here and eat it up on the highline’s lawn, which is a block away.

Bottino is in a great location. The High Line entrance is just a block away so I usually get a salad or sandwich to-go and eat it on the High Line. It’s great, perfect for my hour lunch break. I’ve been here couple times but I’ve only tried the #9 sandwich(Smoked Turkey, herbal mayo, tomato, greens). I just really liked how it tasted but I do want to try the 15: grilled chicken & avocado, herbal mayo, lettuce, tomato next. Their ingredients are fresh, love the greens and herbal mayo. Definitely recommend the sandwich over salad. But salad was pretty good as well. Portions are great, nice people, quick service.
