A crazy little hidden gem for the neighborhood. Shelves are literally shoulder to shoulder stocked with goods and to some maybe even a bit claustrophobic. Produce, cured meats, cheeses, drinks. Almost everything you’d need packed in a tight space. Good selection of juices too when you want to get something quick to go

I feel like I’m cheating on Gristedes(or Gross-tedes, as I call it) every time I shop here, and it feels SOGOOD. The prices at this incredible little bodega of wonders are right on par with my least favorite grocery store in the world, but the employees here don’t hate life, and there’s never much of a line. The produce selection rocks, and I’ve been pleasantly shocked with their plentiful inventory more times than I can count. Ever been in a bind for unsweetened baking chocolate, refried beans, sugar free strawberry preserves, Cholula hot sauce, fresh mozzarella, or chili paste? Well, I have, and BAM — it’s all here. Some of my other favorite finds are: Ostrim(ostrich jerky!), every fresh herb you could imagine for $ 1 per bunch, bags of ice, Laughing Cow light wedges and Babybel cheeses sold individually, and fuji apples. I stick to the grocery items and haven’t tried anything from the deli, and I’d be a little wary — I have witnessed some refrigeration issues here at least a couple times. I live above this place and seriously don’t know what I’d do without it. Open 24/7, and cash only. Amen.

This place has the best deal on kimchi in lower Manhattan. It seems weird, since this isn’t an Asian specialty store. By all accounts it looks like your average, overpriced deli. But the kimchi is homemade(it’s not the kind that so many delis import from a large kimchi manufacturer, sold in plastic box-like containers); it is second in taste only to upscale brands(like Mother In Law’s) that cost literally twice as much; it doesn’t have added MSG or other chemicals; and it is extremely reasonably priced. Its appearance may make you wary at first… the label is just a sticker with hasty handwriting in Sharpie declaring, simply, «kim chee»…but don’t shy away.

I love this place, they are open 24 hours a day and have a great selection. The bad review is because I got salmonella poisoning from getting chicken from the deli area, so please just don’t get anything from the deli.

Bleecker Farm is so much more than a bodega. It’s the«omg, I’ve forgotten something so let me run downstairs store.» It’s also been the«dammit, did I forget something else… back downstairs» store. It’s even been the«I wonder if they have that… omg yes they do!» store. Yes, it’s in my building and easily accessable, but it’s also completely worth the trip. The amount of fresh veggies here parallels Gristedes down the street, and the prices are always considerably less. Whether it’s a potato, a cucumber, lettuce, or an apple, I’ve never had a bad fruit or vegetable from BF. They also have a fine selection of Asian products — I buy my Chili Garlic Sauce and my Nori here. The other day, I needed miso paste… and to my surprise, they had three different types! I was shocked and amazed, and told the cashier just how awesome she was. Other interesting items: veggie stock, seaweed salad, fresh(and cheap) tofu. They have a fine selection of beer, although it’s a bit expensive. Their coolers also contain a variety of unique and interesting soft drinks. They have good cheese, eggs, and milk products. Protip #1: They’re cash only. There’s an ATM in the store, but I think the fees are high. Bank of America is two blocks up on seventh, Chase is one block up on sixth. Protip #2: There are much better places for breakfast sammiches on Bleecker st. Protip #3: That’s not wine in the back of the store, it’s «wine product».

I agree with the first reviewer! I am really surprised only one person thought to review this place. It really has the freshest ingredients to make an easy and inexpensive meal. I stop here when I shop my Bleecker Street trio: Lobster Place, Murray’s, and Bleecker Farm. All three can make a fresh and fun dinner. The owners are really nice and the produce is always fresh. I avoid Dags like the plague and prefer going here to get my veggies. They’re mixed greens in a clamshell are the best value, they give you enough for a salad for 6 people and it’s only $ 3.50. Compare to Dags which is $ 6 for a clamshell and it’s not even fresh it’s gooky! Always have fresh herbs, which is a plus, when the other grocers run out or don’t carry them at all! Keep up the good work!

Bleecker Farm Corporation is about as close to a *good* produce stand as I’ve been able to find in the W. Village in the months since I moved here — and actually, it’s not a stand at all. It’s a clean convenience store with an area up front stocked with a wide array of herbs and a decent selection of produce. Bleecker Farm isn’t a perfect substitute for my UWS fruit and produce vendors. For one thing, fruit selection is usually pretty limited, though I did buy some beautiful, sweet strawberries there the other day, a last-minute garnish for a dessert I was serving to guests. But I’m thrilled to find their collection of inexpensive, fresh herbs(basil — Italian and Thai, usually; rosemary; sage; thyme and a few others) and the fine house-made kimchi. The herb bouquets are on the small side, but they’re perfect for my two-person, one-dog household to consume before the herbs wilt — and they’re only $ 1. The store also carries the other convenience store standards: cans of soup, pasta sauce, toilet paper, frozen dinners, beer, chips and halva bars. Prices are higher than at run-of-the-mill grocery stores, but about on par with the annoying yuppie chains like Gourmet Garage. Bleecker Farm is, IIRC, open all night. Good to know if you find yourself fiending for kimchi or fresh herbs at two a.m. sometime!

What? I can’t believe no one has written a review for this place. This is the best corner grocery store in the village. I pretty much use it as my own pantry. They have nice fresh vegetables and stock things that you wouldn’t expect a corner grocery to stock routinely like fresh chives, mint, leeks, and fennel. They even have fresh tofu. You can grab a reasonable cheese here when Murray’s is closed and fancy crackers when all the other stores run out of bread. It pretty much beats out the local Gristedes for things that I would actually want to buy(and it’s cheaper) and is closer than the closest Citarella. And they have good quality and well priced flowers and arrangements. This is the ideal corner grocery, goes above and beyond expectations for this category, and it adds real value to the neighborhood if you’re a home cook with a small apartment.
