I had come to this restaurant without expectations nor any idea of what to eat. My boyfriend picked this place based on reviews and just because we’ve been on a seafood crave lately. We waited for about 40 mins on a Sunday night around 8pm. The restaurant is fairly small and tight on space, you’re literally dining along with the tables beside you. We were unfortunately sat by the door so I’d feel the cold breeze. We had their Red, White and Blue Special with merlot and top neck clams. We only decided on the clams because we had oysters for the past few days but man, am I glad I chose the clams! They were probably the best raw clams I’ve had. Kind of wished I had ordered more! As for our main courses, I had the catfish sandwich and my boyfriend had the catfish dinner. I couldn’t really make it a sandwich because I’d feel that it would just fall apart so I kinda just cut everything with a fork and knife but it didn’t really bother me because the catfish was scrumptious! And it comes with a load of fries, which were also very tasty, I even cleared out my boyfriend’s plate of fries along with mine(I’m serious about my fries). For a random pick of place, I’m glad to have come here to eat. My food coma was well worth it!

I LOVED their catfish sandwich. You can choose to have the fish either blackened or fried, and I went with fried, which was an excellent choice. The coat was crispy and seasoned well and the fish inside was soft and moist. The fries served on the side were delicious as well. I got there at around 7pm and there was no wait(probably because it was a weekday and the weather was brutally cold), but the place filled up pretty quickly, so I would probably come here earlier than later. This is a fairly small venue so all the tables are uncomfortably cramped together, but it’s nothing atypical of restaurants in this neighborhood. I will definitely come back to try other dishes in the future, and update my review accordingly :)

Totally delicious, incredible extensive selection, and a great value for the neighborhood, the portions are huge. I ordered the grilled squid and ate it for the next three days or something. It was a fun and intimate space and a fun place to meet up with my friend. Though –1 star because for whatever reason it was a freezing in there. The ice everywhere? Maybe it was the ice everywhere.

I can only comment on the Red White and Blue special and it’s awesome. Very happy with my beautiful, tasty oysters and generous pour of wine for $ 9. This place has a small town feel and the bartender and staff are very friendly.

Eh. I don’t like this place. I had better. My friend and I were looking for a place to eat and while we were outside the hostess I assumed came out to assist us with any questions we may have. so she convinced us to get two specials and an additional lobster. I got oysters and loved them. honestly, come here get oysters and fries then bounce or maybe go somewhere else. we liked our server. there wasn’t a lot she could do more.(shrug) but my friend ordered two additional sides that didn’t come with the special which were gross and bland. she got the creamed spinach and the mashed potatoes. those were so horrible it is not even funny. those mashed potatoes were definitely lumpy, processed and not fresh. miss me with those box mashed potatoes. we had to borrow the sea salt from another table. she couldn’t finish them. the meal was basic. I did enjoy my New England clam chowder and my lobster and oysters which can be messed up. what annoyed us is on the way out. the male bartender with a bitchy attitude stopped us to say umm was there anything wrong with the service??? a dollar tip? « (i knew that was code for him trying to solicit a bigger tip). he couldn’t wait to check out billfolds all the only people of color in the restaurant. i say that is not a dollar that is a $ 10 bill. then he goes on to discuss the total of our bill and further being inappropriate. my friend gets really mad and asks for the manager. he claimed to be a manager. my friend told him that the food sucked. he claimed we shouldn’t punish the server. i wanted to say fuck off. but really made me upset was he turns to a patron sitting at the bar and talked further shit about us. this dude is inappropriate and should be fired. it is bad business to harass clients about a tip.(who cares that at the bottom of your bill it says gratuities are not included. it should also state if you deserve one you will get it.). i am not over tipping for a shit show. no way. that bar tender /manager /asshole was soliciting and they didn’t deserve more than what they got. what business was it what we tipped although he might have been closing the checks at the register. fuck off. who trains these folks. soliciting should be grounds for firing. it is tacky to harass clients and try to embarrass them for a bigger tip. oh how could i forgot, the tactless bartender turned to a patron sitting at the bar drinking a glass a wine and gossips to her about our tip. what a lame idiot!!! this incident happened on December 212015 and I finally got a chance to write this review.

I’d highly recommend coming here for lunch on a weekend because it won’t be too crowded, and you won’t feel bad for staying long if you have a lot of catching up to do with a friend. My seafood-loving friend and I came here and we really enjoyed our meal. It was an old restaurant with peeling seats and rickety tables, but the food was fresh and delicious. My Chilean Sea Bass in a light tomato and white wine broth was wonderful. It came with a long piece of a glorified hotdog bun which was a curious choice, but the bass itself was cooked nicely and paired well with the hot, delicate broth. It was a nice dish for a cold winter day, and it definitely cleared my sinuses. My friend’s Fisherman’s Stew should have been advertised as a meal for two – severals clams, plump pieces of shrimp, scallops, mussels, white fish, and half of a lobster simmered in a large creamy, tomato-based stew. I love tomato-based anything, so I really enjoyed it and didn’t think it overpowered the taste of each piece of seafood. If I could say one thing, I’d say that I would have liked the lobster meat to have been removed prior to being served because removing the meat from a slippery lobster claw was quite a messy endeavor. Likelihood of another visit: Worthy of a second visit! I’d like to try their raw sampler next time.

Where do I start. The service was excellent and I especially enjoyed the oyster and wine special.(6 oysters and wine $ 9.00) Overall the food was good but not impressive. I ordered the seafood paella, and seafood gumbo soup. The soup was excellent but the paella was mediocre. I won’t be In a rush to return. Please be aware that there are too many tables and it’s a very tight space. The women next to us, knocked down our oysters as she left the table.

Great spot for fresh seafood for a really good value. Haven’t been back in years and was in a king crab mood, decided to go back! 42 dollar for 1 lb king crab plus 2 sides in my opinion as cheap as you can get for the quality they offer. Our server was great and prompt. And fisherman stew and oyster were all awesome! One minus star for ambience, almost co-table because the space is so tight. If you don’t like your neighbor table could pretty much ruin a good meal(our next door table had a guy from the other side insist on breaking their lobster claw with his filthy hands and when the girls refuse to eat it he insulted them…) but again, if you got a great table next to you it could also make a special night!

This place was ok… A couple friends and I came here for dinner and there was about a half an hour wait, not so bad. My friend wanted to come here because she heard the seafood was really good here. I honestly think the draw of this place is the bluepoint oysters and we didn’t even end up ordering it! This place had an interesting vibe, no frills, a little old school charm. We were seated right by the kitchen door and they just added a seat on the side of the table, which was kinda in the way of people walking by; one of the chair legs was loose and we asked to get another chair, but they didn’t have one. The service here is fine though. We ordered fried clams w/fries on the side, Fisherman’s stew, steamed mussels(w/garlic butter), lobster shepherd’s pie. The fried clams weren’t very good, weren’t as fresh as they could’ve been so there was a taste to them. My friend thought the Fisherman’s stew was pretty good and the stew had a good amount of flavor. My friend compared the steamed mussels to a popular seafood restaurant specializing in mussels, mussels here were just ok. I thought the lobster shepherd’s pie was good, the flavors were just right and the whipped potatoes gave it good texture, especially with it being a little toasted on top. As for prices, some things can be a bit on the pricey side. Overall, an ok option for lunch or dinner, but not a must try.

If you want a fresh lobster– COMEHERE! I’ve been in some places before in New York for Lobster. They brought it and it was even smelling bad from far away! It costed 20dollars whole lobster. In this«Fish» restaurant lobster costs 29dollars and it is very fresh! My advice it’s better to pay more 9dollars and to enjoy your food. Well talking about this restaurant. There were a line of people for to get a table I had to wait like 25min. From one side its a plus cause shows this place is popular from another no cause had to wait. Tables are very close to each other so sometimes seems I am having a dinner with people I even don’t know. Tables are very simple. Waitress is super friendly. Food is excellent. Toilets could be a bit cleaner. Anyways I would recommend this place for everybody who wants a simple friendly dinner with fresh food.

Fish, how much do I love thee — let me count the ways. Like as much as the number of the crabs they dish onto the table when I’m there for their AYCE blue crabs at lunch! This is literally the only place in NYC to have a Maryland type feast(if you know of anywhere else, please let me know!!), and it’s only available at lunch time! My husband was watching a food network show about crabs, and he wanted to head to Joe’s Crab Shack(he’s such a suburban boy), and I voted for Fish instead! We rolled in on a Saturday, and sat ourselves at a 2 seater. We both ordered the AYCE crabs, sides of cole slaw, garlic bread, and fries, and a few beers. I loved the garlic bread, but thought for $ 6 we would get something more than a toasted brioche hot dog roll. The cole slaw was also the size you get with your burger at diners, and a small bowl of fries. Nothing to write home about, and we spent $ 18 on «eh» sides. But whatever, we’re here for the crabs! They supply you with a bucket, a hammer, and crackers — and you work for your meal. I usually eat so much crab that I’m good for the year(I’ve been here twice, spaced a year apart!). Prepare to get messy — it’s a fun lunch to do with friends! They also do great raw oysters and clams! And PS — if you’re headed there for steamers, call ahead to make sure they have it. A couple next to us came from the UWS just for the steamers, and they were all out.

I always come here for the RW&B oysters. It always satisfy my cravings. We got the fisherman stew, lobster Mac n cheese and Christian paella. The lobster Mac n cheese never fail me when I order it. It’s not overly cheesy. It’s nice and moist. The Christina paella has a lot of seafoods and highly recommended to share!

I had high hopes for Fish and really wanted some good and legit seafood. I’m sort of torn about their food though. The oysters were okay. I wish the wait staff would’ve been more attentive and told us what was what when the oysters came. As far as the quality of the oysters, it’s probably still not quite in season yet for oysters. I was surprised that they didn’t have a better oyster deal for HH. For entrée, I couldn’t resist and for got the soft shell crab entrée portion that also came with two sides. For $ 28, I got 4 soft shell crab and for the two sides, I got grits and sauteed spinach. I have to say that I liked the grits and spinach much more than the soft shell crab. It just didn’t wow me and the shell was rather hard and was soggy. I’ve had soft shell crab sandwiches from food stalls better than here. My dining partner, on the other hand, got the gumbo and loved every bit of it. I’m glad I tried Fish, but it’s not exactly a place I can’t wait to return.

The Quick: Absolute gem for seafood lovers. Fantastic oyster specials, great vibe, quick service. Be prepared to wait because the restaurant is tiny. The Details: 6 oysters/clams and a glass of wine(or PBR) for $ 9 — that my friends is a Manhattan steal. Fish is always packed but they do their best to accommodate and have a friendly staff. The lobster mac & cheese actually had a healthy portion of lobster meat, and the oysters are very large. Overall a great spot for happy hour or bite with friends(but not too many friends, tables are small) The Damage: 3 of the above specials and an entrée, side, and bottle of wine to split was $ 34 each including tip. Extremely reasonable, but remember we only had one entrée.

On paper, Fish sounds amazing. In practice, it was just a-okay. We sat near the back by the kitchen entrance. There’s a cute skylight, but the tables were a bit squished together. Also felt something dripping at some point, or maybe that was just lobster juice spraying from the table next to us… neither was a good prospect. Anyway, started with the raw sampler, which consisted of 6 oysters, 2 clams, and 3 shrimp for $ 16. Might not sound like a great deal, but they give you a nice oyster selection, mostly west coasters. My only complaint is really a non-complaint. They give you one of everything, so if you’re sharing with someone, you have to decide what you want before knowing what you like, and then you can’t share notes(which is half the fun of eating oysters! Okay, maybe a quarter of the fun…). Also did the clams casino(baked clams with ham), which was $ 12 for a half dozen. Pretty tasty, but a bit too much ham(is that a thing?), which masked the clam flavor. For my main, I went with the fish and chips, as per our waitress’s recommendation. Now, I’m not always a fish and chips kind of guy. I’ve had it at one of the famous joints in London and thought it was pretty lame. But when done right, I actually do enjoy it(see: Atlantic Chip Shop in Brooklyn). Fish, however, did not do it right. The filets were haphazardly breaded and way too crumbly, and there was no discernible flavor without the tartar sauce. And for $ 18. That’s a skip. Also tried some of their steamed mussels(with garlic butter sauce), which was much better. But it actually takes talent and active sabotage to mess up mussels. All in all, as a seafood fan, Fish seems like a good idea but in execution, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

We went here for the clams, oysters and wine special and it was amazing. We also tried the tuna salad and calamari. The food here was very good but the service and environment were just okay. The service here was good, but not amazing since we felt rushed. We only waited for less than 5 minutes before being seated inside. We waited outside by the bench and it was uncomfortable to have bar stools right behind us and we had to move in order to let the guests out(they stepped on the bench in order to leave the area). There were ants by the bench outside and one of them bit my ankle. When we were seated inside, I noticed the chairs and tables were really close together and there were a couple times when the waitress had to physically move tables so the guests can fit in between the tables to the seat. The tables are also small(especially for the clam and oyster platter), but we were able to fit our dishes. Overall, we would come back here for the seafood dishes and wine.

$ 9 Red, White & Blue(RWB): 6 bluepoint oysters and your selection of one alcoholic drink(red/white wine or PBR beer). That’s probably the strongest reason to come here because for that price, you’re getting bluepoints the size of the palm of your hand! The thing is, the rest of the menu is just alright so I have a love/hate relationship with this place. Sometimes I come for the RWB to be disappointed with messily shucked oysters or not so well washed ones. Other times, they’re so huge it’ll take you two bites to finish. On certain days, the waiters/waitresses are super friendly, and then on others, you get waiters/waitresses who are extremely unenthusiastic and not attentive(Mondays). Although food on the menu all sound delicious, most are pricey or overpriced at the small portion sizes. Specifically some appetizers that are offered at entrée prices are all tiny and not the best. I’ve had the lobster mac and cheese(decent, $ 19.50), crab cake(pretty good, $ 14 or $ 15?), salmon & tuna tartare($ 11, tiny and I’ve had much better, but the creamy sauces were flavorful). Worth the visit for oysters though!

Really cool ambiance, tiny little place with super friendly staff. Because of the size of the place, the wait can be quite long so opt for early dinner/late lunch. As far as the food goes, I can’t say enough how amazingly fresh and delicious the oysters are! Polished a dozen and could have probably had more! The clam chowder was alright but not the best I’ve had, a bit runny for my taste… The lobster roll was also just alright but the fries and side salad it came with complemented the favors and textures. All in all a decent meal but I don’t quite set the hype about it.
