Bill’s Bar & Burger

Burgers are small ($ 10) but pretty good. Make it a double for $ 5 extra. The hostess was rude and did not greet us. Then the waiter was inattentive and the bartender made poor drinks. I do not recommend, but it’s a quick and easy lunch in the Rockefeller center area.

We had a party of 4. Each of us ordered the American Burger. We all agreed, We have had much better. Certainly not a burger that we said, Hey, we have to come back here. We wont be coming back. We ordered fries which were not good at all. Lacked any flavor. The beer was just OK. they have a lot of beer on the menu but the choices were not very good. So for 4 beers, 4 burgers and 2 fries, the bill was $ 104 with tip. Certainly not worth it. Wont be back.

Bill’s Bar & Burger catering service is great! This is my first time using them for a corporate dinner and service was great from the first phone call to place the order to the deliver guys. The trays were label and I requested paper for each item as well. Everyone love their sliders and Veggie Burger sounds dry but it’s delicious. I had people try them since the mini B’s were gone and they LOVED IT! You have to order Fried Pickles & Peppers, it’s a good finger food.

Avoid this place. The food is awful and the entire staff couldn’t be more rude. My coworkers and I were going to lunch and needed a place for the 9 of us to sit and eat. Our first choice was all booked up, so I called Bill’s and asked them if they have room for 9 people. The guy on the phone told me YES, so I told him «great, we’ll be right down — we’re walking over now (thru the Rockefeller Center Concourse) we’ll be about five minutes.»
We get there and check in, the same guy says «oh i gave away your table, you didn’t have a reservation». Are you KIDDING ME? I told him «I was JUST on the phone with you, five minutes ago! I told you we were on the way. If you had such a rush on tables, why didn’t you tell me I should hold the table». With no other options we waited. After about a half hour they thought the best option for us was to split us up at two tables. Instead of giving us tables next to eachother, they put some of us at a small booth and some of us at a table with a giant support beam between us so we couldn’t even see half our party. When the person was seating us she pointed the way to go and then got mad at us that we went to the wrong table then told us «you were supposed to WAIT for us to show you what table.» They also didn’t give us any menus, so it was a good thing that we looked at one while we were waiting for a table.
Whatever, we were starving so we ordered our burgers. I asked if they would just do fried pickles as an app, not including the peppers, our waitress said it wasn’t possible. Okay, fine. Then we ordered our food. The fries came quick and then after a while all our burgers came. They couldn’t have been more wet and greasy. They are smaller than I thought they’d be for that price, maybe a little bit larger then what a slider would be. $ 5 extra for fries is also ridiculous. I understand it’s NYC but come on. The bacon on my cheeseburger didn’t appear to be cooked all the way through, it was gross.
There was also a bug in my drink which the waitress was nice enough to swap out for me at the end of the meal but she didn’t remove it from the bill, and at that point the whole experience left me feeling really gross and awful I couldn’t drink or eat anything else. Afterwards 3 of my coworkers and I had to get Pepto Bismal as we were all having stomach aches.
What was supposed to be a nice outing with our coworkers was totally ruined. Never again — avoid this place at all cost.

Just had a French onion soup patty melt here & loved it!
Hamburger patty with 2 kinds of cheese (American & Swiss) & carmelized onion on rye. Like toasted cheese but with a burger & onion inside. What’s not to like???

HORRIBLE PLACE! Do not come here!!! We waited 2 hours for a table of 7 and then gave us a table for 5 and said sorry that’s all we have.
We mentioned twice to the hostess that we were willing to split our table of 7 into 2 separate ones in an effort to eat a little sooner and were told it would be just as long as a wait.
Food was cold, beer was warm. Never coming back here again.

Came here on the warmest Christmas Eve ever after walking around midtown with my daughter. Wasnt overly crowed. The hostess asked if we would like to be seated upstairs or down… I’ve dined here once before so I said downstairs to change it up a bit. Big mistake… it was super stuffy and hot. The waitress had no issues allowing us to go back upstairs. We were seated right next to the window with a nice view under a decorative Christmas wreath. Service was fast enough. Dishes are ala carte which is strange for a burger place… like why do I need to order a side of fries for my $ 14 burger?! Grrr. Again maybe because of the holiday i was paying closer attention to my budget because it didnt bother me much before.
The tables are small and well as the plates but with your ala cart fries and drinks and condiments things can get very crowded very quickly. Something should be done for the lack of space. Ingot the Shrimp burgey with maple glazed bacon with a side of cheese fries. I was underwhelmed unfortunately not even the bacon could make it better.
I gave this Midtown location 2 chances and it failed me both times. I will only re-​vist thr meatpacking location.

Burgers and Sweet potato fries! My favorite things. I’ve been to Bill’s on numerous occasions. The shakes are great too. It’s reasonably priced with a relaxed atmosphere. Service is fast and friendly. It’s easily accessed from the street or from the concourse of Roc Center.
If you’re site seeing, stop in for lunch. You won’t leave hungry or with an empty wallet!

Bad service and rude employees at the takeout counter.
I work in the area and have been coming to Bill’s for years.
Today I called in an order for takeout as I have done many times before.
I ran over to pick it up and when I got back to my office I realized they had given me the completely wrong order. I ordered a plain turkey burger and sweet potato fries and they gave me only a cheeseburger.
I called to let them know about the issue and was put on hold for more than 5 minutes. When I finally spoke to someone, he told me he knew he gave me the wrong order but did not apologize and said I could come pick up my food again.
When I went back outside in the rain to pick up the correct order, the takeout employees seemed annoyed with me because I wanted the food I actually ordered. I double-​checked the order before leaving this time and they had made another mistake on my order. When I asked for the correct order, they were again rude, dismissive and annoyed.
I was not offered a refund, discount or even an apology for the inconvenience.

Restaurante e hamburgueria que é a cara de NY, fica próximo ao Rockefeller Center.
Confesso que não era um lugar que estava na minha lista pra conhecer e que fui por acaso, mas foi uma surpresa boa.
A comida é deliciosa e o atendimento muito bom.

Food: Fine. Most folks order the burgers which are slightly above average. 6 oz patties. Several varieties to decide from. Many of the standard toppings you’d expect. I got the bbq cheddar chicken sandwich though. Could have used more sauce, but not that big a deal. Pretty tasty. Sandwiches are not served with fries and are $ 10 + but I guess that is to be expected given location. My kids got the kids meals which were $ 12.50 for what I thought were small dishes. Best thing I can say is that they did serve my kids immediately which was clutch.
Service: no complaints. The servers were polite and as attentive as we could expect. We went for a Friday dinner in mid December when there are a million people in the area to see the tree.
Atmosphere: what you expect when walking in. Casual, busy, TVs, bar area, noisy, but not too loud. Good for several different occasions.
Misc: we had a reservation for six and got there a little early. They say us immediate when the place was swamped. Really appreciated that especially given my two small kids were with us.
Might go back if in the area with my kids.

Packed with people. A half hour wait for a table.
Was well worth it.
Had the Bacon & Cheddar Burger (Thick hickory bacon, vermont white cheddar, pretzel bun) ($ 10.95), with Disco Fries (Cheese fries with gravy) ($ 5.95) and the Campfire milkshake (House made toasted marshmallow, vanilla ice cream) ($ 6.95).

Worth the wait, remember where you are when you visit Bills Bar & Burgers in Rockefeller Center, if you like all beef… not frozen burgers and really good milkshakes then this place hits it out of the park. The menu offers a variety of salads, soups and sandwiches not just burgers (unlike my other favorite burger joint «The Shake Shack»)The service is always great, been here several times and the service is consistent. I especially love the beer menu, I can enjoy an Orval (my favorite Trappist beer). Portions are not large, except for the Nacho Grande! The cheese fries and the sliders are excellent (my choice for an entrée) The house sauce on the sliders remind me of the Big Mac special sauce… brings back memories. pre Super Size Me! 2 floors can’t be big enough… have a drink at the bar and forget about the wait.

It’s a rare moment when I go eat in midtown of my own volition. Even this time, it wasn’t quite my own volition; an aunt and I had been shopping for Christmas presents at UNIQLO for my younger cousins, and she loves the burgers at Bill’s. Let me tell you: 12 p.m. on a Saturday in December is a bad time to eat a burger at a popular restaurant around the corner from Rockefeller Center and the Christmas tree! However, my aunt was insistent, and about about 10 minutes, we finally finagled two seats at the bar, lest we wait an hour for a table for two!
The burgers were solid! I got the well-​known Fat Cat, a double patty sandwich served with special sauce, caramelized onions, and American cheese on an English muffin. I loved it. My aunt got a regular ol’ cheeseburger, and she was pleased. The fries left a little to be desired, but helped fill the void. Props to free soda refills, as well!
This spot as «tourist» written all over it, but it was enjoyable enough.

What can I say — they have some really good burgers!!! I just came in the other night for the first time (I work close by) and so i thought to try their classic burger, with some bacon and french fries (you have to order each side since the burgers come a la carte). It was juicy and so worth it. They have a LARGE selection of beers and HUGE space (two floors), with bathroom on each floor. This place is amazing.
The service was beyond unbelievable! I was served by both Luna and Nicole — such lovely people. Yes, the food was good, but if it wasnt for them, my experience wouldve just been good. They made it great — thank you. Also, to that manager that just worked her last day — what a sweetheart.

I joined the social committee for my practice at work and planned a trivia night with the group. Once again, I took over F&B orders for that night among other duties. Running with the pub trivia theme, I decided to order from Bill’s Bar & Burger. I order cheeseburger and veggie burger sliders, boneless wings with sauces on the side, tortilla chips with guacamole and pico de gallo, French fries, and more tortilla chips with spinach and artichoke dip. People raved about the food, especially the sliders.
The catering arrived hot and on time, though I am pretty sure that our crudités that was supposed to come with the chips never arrived. Regardless, I will definitely be ordering from Bill’s again!

A variety of delicious and customizable burgers for $ 8 – 13.
Grilled Shrimp Burger: I’m not a fan of beef burgers, so I ordered this instead. Sesame bun filled with grilled shrimp, slices of avocado, pickles, cole slaw, and tartar sauce. Scrumptious! ($ 13)
Chili Cheese Fries: One of the best chili cheese fries I’ve ever had. Fresh fries topped with flavorful, meaty sauce. ($ 6)
Shakes: We ordered the Classic Black & White Shake and the Cookies & Cream Shake. They were delightful. ($ 6 – 7)

Truthfully not impressed. I got the spicy jalepeno burger cooked medium. It was a pretty thin patty so it wound up being very dry. It also wasn’t very spicy although I have a fairly high tolerance so I usually don’t fault places on this false advertisement. But the price is what really got me. That burger was not worth it. I personally think even Shake Shack is significantly better in terms of patty flavoring, juiciness, and overall satisfaction (although also overpriced, smh)
The ambience of the location is really nice though. Seems like a fun place to hang out after work. Plenty of drink options and their specials looked delicious, wish I had tried one.

This place is awesome. Came here after a meeting for lunch with a co-​worker whom has been raving about this place.
Upon arrival, it was packed… overheard the hostess saying the wait would be 30−45mins for lunch… thankfully we had reservations and we were seated immediately.
Our waiter attended to us within moments of us sitting down which we greatly appreciated especially considering how busy they were. As for the food, we both ordered the jalapeño burger (I substituted with turkey) and sweet potatoes fries. The food came out fairly quickly and the burgers were delicious, tender, juicy and well seasoned (something that you don’t find often with turkey burgers)! Our sweet potatoes fries were crispy and perfectly cooked.
This was a solid lunch spot and I will be back as soon as I can afford those amount of calories again. :) haha

Great atmosphere, decent food, and decent prices for the area. They were packed, but we we’re able to slip in since we just needed a table for 2. Burger was good, juicy and flavorful, but nothing mind-​blowing. Same with the fries, they were good. Food came out very fast!
If you’re looking for something quick, good, and cheap (for the area), then it’s a great place to stop into.

Appel Martini. Sehr lecker und viel Alkohol. Steht nicht auf der Karte. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung. Slider Burger sehr lecker. Sind drei kleine Burger. Aber als doppel Burger und Pommes absolut ausreichend um satt zu werden. . Insgesamt gute Empfehlung.

Located right off 5^th Ave adjacent to Rockefeller Plaza, Bill’s is in a prime location to grab a bite amongst a number of popular NYC attractions. Because of this, a large number of tourists flock to the restaurant — but I was in the area for an event and decided to give it a try.
The restaurant is big — the main level has some tables, an open-​ish kitchen, and a bar while the lower level has more tables. The décor is simple with a mostly black/​white/​red color scheme which works well with the whole burger theme.
The menu contains a variety of burgers (of course) as well as sandwiches and salads. Being it was a burger place I decided to get the turkey burger and added Swiss cheese. It also came topped with cole slaw and lettuce, tomato, and pickles. The burger had good flavor but they skimped a little on the slaw. They have a lot of different fries to order as a side but I stuck with regular French fries — they were hot and tasty (note — the burgers don’t come with fries automatically you need to order them separately). Service was good, our waitress was friendly and attentive.
Overall, very average — food was tasty but lacked a wow-​factor. It’s fine for what it is, and I wouldn’t be against going back if the occasion called for it.

Local muy animado con la típica comida americana, buenas hamburguesas y camareros majos

Me pasó algo extraño. Empiezo por la comida: geniales las hamburguesas, realmente ricas y recomendables, así como las «chili cheese fries». Para repetir!
Lo malo fue las personas que al llegar son las responsables de sentar a uno. A toda costa querían sentarnos contra la ventana en una mesa redonda alta y pequeña, siendo que eramos 4. Vimos que en la parte de abajo había boxes de 4 disponibles y pedimos el cambio, de mala manera insistieron en la mesa pequeña que sino debíamos esperar más de 15 minutos. Vimos que los lugares estaban vacíos abajo pero decían que había gente (hasta el momento de irnos nunca fueron ocupados). Al final conseguimos el box, pero casi discutiendo con las chicas que te sientan, no creo que sea la mejor manera de una bienvenida!

I’ve worked as a server before, so I’m always very understanding when service is slow HOWEVER, the service at this place was absolutely terrible!!! We were on way to montreal and made a quick stop in NYC. We decided to take a seat at the bar in hopes of getting quick service. Our server walked by our table at least 5 times without even bothering to greet us or take our drink order. I ordered a glass of wine and didn’t receive it until after we got our entrees. I gave it 2 stars because the food was decent. My boyfriend ordered the «award winning» Fat Cat burger and was quite pleased. I had the Cobb salad which was just blah. I don’t come to NYC often but definitely will never return to this place.

De très bons hamburgers et tacos.
La cuisson du steak du hamburger était respectée (j’ai demandé «Rare»)
La carte est assez fournie on trouve forcément ce qui nous plait.
La salle est grande (sur 2 étages) et il n’y a pas la queue comme dans certains restaurants à burgers qui figurent dans les guides.
Ici on n’y mange pas moins bien, mais sans attendre.
Le service était parfait, très sympa. J’ai demandé un milk shake pour deux car nous n’avions plus très faim, et le serveur nous en a rapporté deux! Et bien sûr en n’en mettant qu’un sur l’addition.
D’ailleurs ce milk shake (classic strawberry) était juste excellent, probablement le meilleur que j’aie pu boire.
Des lingettes nettoyantes sont présentés dans le panier à sauce sur la table, très pratique après le burger ;-)

Un des meilleurs restaurants sur ny. Ambiance géniale, choix très varié. Prix acceptable. Et goût excellent.

Burger sind lecker, die Sandwichs etwas teuer für ein belegtes Brötchen. Insgesamt empfehlenswert.

Sehr gutes Restaurant/​Bar in der direkten Nachbarschaft zum Rockefeller Building. Vom Burger über die Shakes zu den Cocktails ist wirklich alles sehr lecker. Die Preise sind für New Yorker Verhältnisse normal (Burger 8 $ Cocktail 11 $). Der Service ist typisch amerikanisch sehr zuvorkommend. Das Ambiente ist sehr ansprechend, und so gibt es 5 Sterne.
