The first of entertainment clubs. Great location and warm, friendly atmosphere. This is a private club and should not be confused with a restaurant with the same name. This Lambs began in 1874 and has been located here for over 37 years.

A nice little club to perform or rehearse in.

This review is only based on my experiences in the venue as a non-member who knows a member. I’ve been here a few times for rehearsals for shows at a bar association I belong to & went for a party for the same committee that did those shows. VERY nice ladies room on the first floor. Seriously, it’s spacious, filled with mirrors & downright exquisite. It has to be in the top 10 nicest ladies rooms in NYC, if not the top 5. It is on par with the ladies room at the Plaza hotel(another very nice, spacious one). The front desk people are also polite & helpful. They have never given me problems or made me feel like an intruder. Goes for all the staff, really. Lastly, the 5th floor rehearsal space which is only for members & guests is wonderful. If you know a Lambs member, that person should definitely consider using the rehearsal space for rehearsals since there’s pianos as well as lots of space to practice your acting, dance routine, etc.

All purchases are charged to your house account & billed monthly. There is no minimum charge requirement for members. The friendly staff always knows how we like our drinks — & how often! I am a Lamb & you can find me here at least once a week enjoying the company of other people in the artistic community. Since its founding, there have been more than 6,000 Lambs including such greats as Fred Astaire, Irving Berlin, George M. Cohan, W.C. Fields, Will Rogers, John Philip Sousa, Fred Waring and Albert Hague. Current luminaries include the Academy Award winning actor Cliff Robertson, James Karen, Abe Vigoda, Joyce Randolph(‘Trixie’ of The Honeymooners), and the Tony/Emmy/Grammy Award winning conductor/arranger, Donald Pippin. The food is great but the company is better.
