This is the second time I came to this place for lunch. I liked the Chicken Avocado Salad a lot. Unfortunately I found a piece of hair in it right before I finished the salad. I am very disappointed and it was too late to go back and speak to the manager. Don’t think I will go back.

If you need a good, quick steak sandwich, this is a great option at 30 Rock. The tri-tip steak is very good — it’s cooked pretty hard, but it’s moist and flavorful. The steak sandwiches are hot, fresh and come with a generous portion of dat meat. My favorite item here, though, isn’t the steak. Let’s talk chicken breasts. These suckers are HUGE. They’re also insanely moist, flavorful and cooked with a light char on the outside. A grilled chicken«small plate» comes with two of these beasts on top of(to quote Jim Gaffigan) «just a hint of lettuce.» If you need a lean, tasty protein hit, this will set you right. Service is indifferent, but usually pretty quick for takeout. Definitely check it out if you’re at 30 Rock and feel the need for a solid, quick steak sandwich or chicken sandwich.

Have had mixed food results even with orders made at the same time. More than one steak sandwich had tough steak — so much so that it was inedible. I think it’s the end bits? We couldn’t return them as we’d taken them to eat in another locations. Other sandwiches have been good although the rolls could be better. It’s an expensive place but then all stores in 30 Rockefeller Center are.

Great spot in Rockefeller Center for a quick sandwich or salad! It’s 30 feet away from the entrance for«top of the rock» if you’re visiting and hungry. I had a tri tip sandwich it was perfectly cooked. The chicken salad was also very good, fresh cooked and very nice seasoning on the chicken.

These days I have been trying many different types of salad and am really getting a sense of hits and misses for many places. Since I’m literally ordering similar stuff everywhere, I’m able to conduct some sort of cross comparison. While Tri Tip is not as popular as Chop’t or Just salad, it indeed provided me a decent chicken avocado salad and I ended up liking the honey lime dressing a lot. The portion was also huge that I could not finish by myself! I’d rather have a 7 – 8 dollar, smaller size, than a huge portion with 11 dollars. Hopefully they can customize on portions. I do liked the fact that they allow you to choose between grilled and crispy chicken.

This has got to be the tastiest food option in the Rock center food concourse. Great steak sandwiches and salads. Really good burrito(albeit bit small). And the burgers — yum! Everything comes out with that smokey barbecue taste. To top it off, they have daily specials — my favorites are the Monday(free chicken in your meatless salad), and the eponymous Tri Tip Tuesday(free steak in your meatless salad). Prices are in line with the other businesses in the concourse — $ 10 or so for a lunch salad or sandwich. Protip: when you go for the first time, tell then that you want to register your phone number. Then, whenever you go, just give your phone number and accumulate points in your account. Once you spend $ 100, you get $ 10 off your subsequent meal.

I came here during my lunch break with my boyfriend. It is located under Rockefeller Plaza — inside the concourse level. There’s a bunch of different restaurants down there so look at the map to locate this place. The restaurant is small and the seating is decent, but still would have to wait for seats since it limited. The place is relatively clean. Once you order, they give you a machine and you wait until the machine lights up so you can get your order. I had their bacon cheddar burger with sweet potatoes fries. It was flavorful and cooked just the way I like it — medium rare. The sweet potatoes fries were good as well. i do recommend this restaurant if you are in the neighborhood and looking for a decent lunch.

Great spot for a quick, yet quality meal while in Rockefeller plaza! Prices are reasonable and the food was great! I had the Border Buck, trip tip, pepper jack cheese and chipotle sauce and it was fantastic.

Was Heading to the TOP of THEROCK view point and the tummy began to grumble. Thank god I decided to spend my hard earned money here, it was well worth it… I ordered a prime rib sandwich w/sautéed onions and its was not just a sandwich but a goddamn GOURMETSANDWICH! Hats off to the chef cause that prime rib sandwich was prepared to the perfection and LOVE. The flesh was served medium with light pink in coloring along with sautéed onions cooked to perfection. This combination of flavors layered my tongue & made my tastebuds dance the Kalypso. Rarely to you find a sandwich you wanna order one for the road. But due to this work of art and it’s so flavorful, this place is the exception. I feel you understand my joy if you take the prime rib challenge and buy one…

Great meat and bacon. Bun a bit too sweet for us. Not a cheapest place as it is located at Rockefeller Center but worth stopping by. Real charcoal grill.

I’ve been to this Tri Tip location in the past. I need to go back. It appears on line that they have a more extensive menu than at Grand Central Tri Tip Grill. I do know they are more expensive. They charged me a dollar more for my salad than at Grand Central and it appears to be much smaller with less chicken. The service was fine since I was there very early for lunch. I like the atmosphere better than trying to find a seat at Grand Central Tri Tip. Once I was settled in my seat I enjoyed my salad. I haven’t been back as I felt I got more food at the other location.

Tri Tip has tasty sandwiches that are full of meat! It’s in a great location downstairs in Rockefeller Center so it’s pretty packed, but the line moves really quickly. I got the Big Buck, and it was like a big French Dip sandwich. The meat was flavorful and cooked well, and wasn’t too rare(though my friend got his rare and it looked completely pink; like to the point that I wouldn’t eat it). The caramelized onions were soooo good to compliment the meat. They also have really great sweet potato fries! I’d definitely recommend Tri Tip for a quick and filling lunch in the city! It was a great pick for the guys in our group that we’re looking for lots of meat and protein for lunch!

Delicious sandwiches located underground in Rock Center’s large food court caverns. Clearly a lot of locals coming here during work lunch breaks. Get the steak sandwich here; won’t be disappointed. Now if only they tried burgers…

We decided to try to find the Tri Tip so we could grab some food before a broadway show. It’s located in the basement of Rockefeller Plaza. We’re glad we saw the Unilocal reviews and made the 10 minute trek over there. We split a cheeseburger and what we got was perhaps the best burger we’ve gotten outside of our pal Barney’s backyard grill. The meat in the burger was genuine meaty meat and perfectly cooked to a medium-rare. It was dripping with juices and flavor — but not so much as to make a soggy mess. The vegetables and the bun were all what should make a burger a burger. The sweet potato fries were good-not-great, but perfectly serviceable. I wish the soda fountain had more non-cola options(only coke, dietcoke, coke zero, sprite, fanta, and root beer). Next time around, we’re going to get some of their signature tri-tips — they looked absolutely delish.

If there is such a thing as high-quality fast food, this place embodies it. Imagine Tad’s Steaks(if you don’t know what Tad’s Steaks is, you’re not missing out on anything. It is probably the worst steak you can get in this universe), and actually enjoying the food because the prices are pretty similar. Although they have raised their prices as of late, I still think it is very fair compared to eating anywhere else in the city. You’re getting pretty good quality meat for a very reasonable price. If you’re expecting NYC steakhouse quality meat, you’re an idiot but for what it is, it is pretty good. Since I try to be «healthy» for lunch, I find their salad to be perfect since they give a pretty generous portion of their steak(and chicken if you prefer) on top of the salad. I’ve tried their entrees and sides which are pretty good too but I have yet to try any of their sandwiches. Service is pretty quick. Great concept and great execution all-around.

For fast food in Rockefeller Center this is my favorite. Had the Big Buck Tri Tip with the chipotle sauce and the pepper jack cheese. It was good and the size can be shared if you aren’t too hungry. I will be back. I just wish the fries had been thicker and tastier. A good side of fries can make a good meal a great meal.

A tasty, greasy mess. That’s really the only way I can describe the Bacon Cheddar Buck meal, which came with fries, a drink, and a positively obscene(in a good way) sandwich — all for around $ 15. The service is pretty much fast food. You get in line, place your order, hang around and try and mark a table for yourself, and when your buzzer buzzes, you go and get it. No points for friendliness in this staff, but full marks for efficiency. The décor is a very hyper-masculine, woodsy/outdoorsy, «kill a buck with your bare hands» kind of concept. All it’s missing is a set of actual antlers somewhere. Anyway, to the tasty greasy mess: Aside from the burnt bits of steak I had to pick out, you were an entirely serviceable meal. Not exactly healthy… Ok, not remotely healthy. It probably shaved time off my life. It certainly shaved more than its deserved share from my wallet. But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy eating it. There’s something about bacon, cheese, and steak that’s so wrong, but so right.

Great steak sandwich and chicken strips. Got the Bacon Cheddar buck which was delicious, but the bacon/cheddar don’t add much to the sandwich. The cheese looked like its melted completely separate from the sandwich and then placed on top, so if you’re going for«Cheese steak» type of deal, look elsewhere. I’d recommend another variety. The chicken strips«Small Platter» was a full size meal with no side-dish. Size is pretty similar to McDonald’s chicken strips. They were very good and chicken strip sauce is amazing. I believe its the fabled«Red Ranch sauce» DONOT get onion straws as a side. If you’re an onion straw/ring lover, they are very disappointing. They are very similar to the small fried onion straws you get in a can, and they’re hard to eat with a spoon/fork. Most of the dishes are around $ 9, and another $ 3 for a combo which gives you a side and drink. Good deal considering sides are $ 3 by themselves.

My friends and I were waiting for our turn at the Top of the Rock and decided to grab some lunch in the area. It was really crowded(like, waiting for a table to open up at a bar, crowded) so we were quick to make a move as soon as we saw customers shifting in their seats. The menu was pretty overwhelming so thank goodness for Unilocal because I was able to read everything I needed to know before making my decision. Since this was probably going to be our one and only time eating here, I decided to go big and order the Bacon Cheddar Buck. When the food came out, it was everything I thought it would be. A big, greasy, artery-clogging sandwich that prepared me to brave the weather outside. If that weren’t enough, I also ordered a side of the fried onions. I was incredibly full by the time we finished our lunch and I don’t even think I was hungry for the rest of the day. But it was a pretty damned good sandwich to be full on.
