This is one of the few dermatologists in NYC that has not ever tried to sell me any procedure or expensive cream. He just does what he needs to do — efficiently, like checking for spots — and no talk of Botox, fillers, laser… a pleasure! Thanks, Dr. Pomerantz

This is a terrible office staff full of rude receptionists and nurses. I never even met Dr. Pomerantz due to an illegal policy they have to insist that the actual insurance card be shown at first appointment even if you have your policy number present and a number to call to verify. As someone who works at the hospital this doctor is affiliated and someone who understands billing and insurance procedures quite well I know this policy is unethical and illegal and I will not reschedule or return. I have arranged to see a different dematologist. What a waste of time.

Dr. Pomerantz is amazing. He did a biopsy on a mark that looked a little suspicious. Turns out it was a basal cell, not a melanoma, we scheduled surgery and it was removed. I get a thorough body scan every six months for any potential basal cells or moles or marks that pop up that could be potentially dangerous. Very professional and considerate and the wait time is very short. Couldn’t be more pleased. I don’t usually see him for acne or face issues, but he has helped in the past for that as well. Prescriptions and cortisone shots.

I’ve had a cyst under my armpit for almost two years now and many times I’ve seen dermatologists who will take a look at it and then tell me that i need to make another appt to consult with a dermatological surgeon, and upon THAT visit, they will do ANOTHER appt for removal of said cysts… absolutely ridiculous! I’m a busy mother of twins and barely have time to eat much less make a series of appts for a cyst. So one day, I take my babies to an allergist and upon check in, I noticed the office space is shared with a dermatological surgeon! I shyly asked the receptionist if there was any way I could be fit in while I was in the office. She answered, well the doctor is out to lunch now but he could see you in 15 minutes. Me: Whaaaaaaat?!(*sniffled back tears of joy*) Dr Pomerantz took me in, and within MINUTES was draining the cyst, sending a sample out for testing, giving me cortisone, and dressing the wound. DONE! I told the doctor how impressed i was that he took care of me so quickly, and he simply responded, «Well, I’m here because I want to take care of you» and then went back to writing down his notes about our visit. And THAT, fellow Unilocalers, is what great doctors are all about!
