I’ve been a patient here for the past four years. I’m really grateful that I found this place when I really needed it. The intake process takes a few weeks. First I had to meet with someone just so they could find out where I am in life, what’s happening in my world so to speak, so I could be properly placed with a professional. I was able to get a sliding scale fee which was quite helpful. After a few weeks, I was placed with a therapist who was very helpful to me at that point in my life. About a year and a half ago, she decided to move on from NIP. She was replaced with someone who is as attentive as she was, and who compliments where I am right now in life. So far, I haven’t had the need to seek out another place for therapy. I think I have gotten very lucky to find therapists who remember what I say, and not rely on a «file» for treatment, or to get to know me. No complaints here.

My synopsis to sum up my interaction with NIP: inconsistent service, calls never returned, and left WITHOUT a therapist OR a referral. — Signed up with them — 3 – 4 weeks later have a long intake about my full history– she was very kind — 3 weeks later-finally– I get a call from my assigned therapist. He calls me on a Friday and leaves a message. On Monday, he calls me back and says, ‘Nevermind, I do not have any time slots available to take on new patients”. How freaking unprofessional can you be? — 1 week later I have a call from my now assigned therapist. I see her the next week for our first appt. After 8 weeks, I think that the therapist would know a little about me or be somewhat sensitive. She acted spaced out and disinterested. She directly told me that she just looked at my file 5MINAGO! Also, that she would be leaving NIP in June. So… I would have her only 1 – 2 months? — Reached out to the director and asked a FAIR and REASONABLE request for a therapist that would be with NIP for a longer period of time… more stability. She NEVER called me back. — 3 more weeks have gone by and NOCALL. Pathetic, Unacceptable, & not responsible behavior while working in mental health. Shame on NIP. Save yourself nearly 12 weeks of waiting and bs.
