I am giving this place zero stars. We saw a woman collapse in front of the restaurant. While the ambulance was attending to her, a manager ran out and complained that the ambulance lights were bothering her patrons. You have got to be kidding me.

Please go elsewhere. Host is rude and destroys the experience. Good has gone downhill big time. Beer list is still very good.

Great food and awesome Belgium beer selection — most of which is on tap!

Great Belgian option especially like others have said for brunch. The food was good and they have a great selection of Belgian beers on tap! I’ve come here for dinner on a few occasions also and enjoyed their main courses also. Stop in and try it out and get an order of frites!

So nice! Brunch on the sidewalk, nice staff excellent service and fantastic mussels Belgian style and some other smart and tasty variations. We had the Asian style with curry and coconut milk, simply delicious. And they have really tasty crisp fries. All at a very reasonable price. Don’t miss it if you are in around uptown, they have a sister store on the east side as well.

Tiny space, so some of the seating is awkwardly placed facing the restroom doors. Nevertheless, the food was delicious!

B Café is a good brunch option. The Croque Madame was tasty and the waffle is good as well. The place is a bit cramped but has a nice décor and friendly enough staff.

Great restaurant with big buckets of muscles that will fill anyone up! I had the Malay Laksa(Red Curry /Coconut Milk /Coriander) and it had great flavor. Less coconut milk/thai taste than expected, but good. Also, the fries are done perfectly and skip the ketchup– just go all-in with the mayo or ailoli! So delish. Service is polite and efficient. Front patio is a huge bonus but the place is deceivingly bigger than it appears.

Great selection of my favorite Belgian beers. Belgians make the best beers in the world! The bartender is a little bit stiff and didn’t give us a warm vibe. We did have dinner at the bar and the Steak Frites was actually very good!

At first glance, I thought this place was going to be very good. I was reading the Unilocal reviews and was pretty excited about trying this place out. I went here on a date. I had made reservations and the place was not busy at all. The host approached me and asked if I had made reservations etc. and I replied Yes. Even though the place WASNOT busy, he would not sit me until all of my party was present… Strike 1. Literally a few seconds later my party showed up, just one other person. So we were seated down at a table for two(the tables that ran perpendicular with the wall), which were TINY!!! the menu itself took up ¾ of the table. STRIKE2. Not very comfortable when you have a candle, cheap flowers in a round vase, glass ware, a small side plate, and silverware… The service over all was great, but like some of the reviewers were saying, they kept asking us if we were done with our plates when we clearly were not. I ordered the skirt steak. I wasn’t prepared for how the steak would come out, but the steak was literally swimming in a salisbury steak like sauce. It was like gravy, gravy for mashed potatoes. It reminded of the gravy that one would get when ordering mashed potatoes from KFC. Yeah NOT appetizing. The sauce was a nasty lukewarm. STRIKE3. Even though it was cooked to a medium rare, the sauce KILLED the steak. The fries were good and so were the side of brussel sprouts. The drinks were ok too. The verdict, I wouldn’t eat here again.

I had a really relaxing brunch/lunch with my friend at B. Café West. He had eggs benedict; I had mussels — you can’t go wrong with either choice and it goes without saying that the frites are delicious. Great selection of wheat beer too. What really stood out to me(in addition to the excellent service and good food) was how peaceful this restaurant was — there was music playing in the background, but at a volume that was perfect for conversation. The host was very welcoming as well. I look forward to returning soon!

I really wanted to give this place 4 stars. The pancakes are great! But my fellow diners were not happy with their brunches. One mentioned that the eggs she ordered smelled a bit fishy. The other complained about the busboy splashing her with coffee when he refilled her cup. The place is friendly, pretty, convenient, reasonable and has a good menu. The service could be much better. Perhaps a bit more attention to your guests might help.

Nothing makes me as mad as a sack of ferrets than when a man tries to take away my food before I’m finished eating. That kept happening here last night. When one person in our party finished their plate, the servers and bussers kept trying to clear all of our plates before the rest of us were even finished, and it got really annoying, really fast, as it continued from the beginning of our meal to the end. At first I thought it was because they were at capacity and wanted to turn our table over quickly for new clients but there were definitely more than a few empty tables around us so I doubt that was the reason. Needless to say, I felt rushed(which is never a pleasant feeling, especially when dining) and I was far from impressed by their lack of courtesy. Just let a girl eat her meal in peace, ya heard?! Especially when she’s celebrating her favorite cousin’s birthday with the people nearest and dearest to her. The way they cleared our table was even disturbing. To illustrate, one such example was when a busser tried to clear a lemon wedge from the table. Instead of just picking it up, he had the audacity to poke at it at least 5x with a toothpick like skewer until he finally gave up and just picked it up. Mister, I admire your tenacity but there’s a time and a place for it. At someone else’s dinner table is not it. The food itself was ok. Here’s the break down: Mac and Cheese — Skip it. I had Mac and Cheese at Whole Foods for lunch that day, which was a thousand times better. The bechamel sauce was incredibly bland and lacking in cheesy flavor, making it a complete bust. The 4 piece cheese plate — unimpressive. Mice would even think it was a joke. It was tiny. They literally cut slivers of cheese and served it on a long plate with a couple of grapes, a dash of lettuce leaves drenched in dressing, a few cornichons and some walnuts for $ 17. Baby Beet salad — You mean beet salad that you cut up into small pieces, right? These were definitely not baby beets. That’s not cool. Either give me what I paid for or at least let me know what I will be paying for. Vegetarian Pasta — Ok, you got me. Admittedly, this was delicious. It was creamy, cheesy, had lots of vegetables, it was well seasoned and well cooked. I loved it. Skirt Steak — I was told it was well cooked and it looked appealing enough to eat. I’m a vegetarian though, so I can’t tell you from a personal taste testing. Duck Sandwich — Apparently, it was good. Again, I don’t eat meat so I can’t confirm nor deny. But I trust my sources. The highlight of our meal came at the end. The story I heard was that, apparently, one of our friends discreetly told our server that we were celebrating a birthday. When we asked for our check, a molten chocolate cake was presented to the birthday girl, and it was a pleasant surprise at first as no one had ordered dessert. Despite our lack luster meal, when that happened, I was prepared to write a fabulous review because I was genuinely touched. But then the check came, and I saw that they actually charged us for the cake, even though no one had ordered it. Ha! Ok. Interesting, that’s one way to increase sales revenue, I suppose. Some restaurants are gracious and comp. out a dessert if they want to for special occasions. Others, decline to send out anything, which is fine. Never has anyone ever taken it upon themselves to add an item to our check without consulting someone from out table. Moral of the story? Keep it classy, folks.

While the calamari appetizer was delish, it took so long to arrive that we decided to dine elsewhere. The restaurant of 12 tables wasn’t busy. We enjoyed 2 drinks each here and crispy calamari then moved on.

I came at 10:00 pm on a Wednesday night and it was dead. I’m guessing based on the ambiance this is more of a «date night» place than the other Belgian bars in town. I ordered the mussels curry and they were Ok. Kind of small, but I know there has been a shortage. The fries were awesome. Nothing beats Belgian fries. These were the best I’ve had in nyc. As a business traveler dining alone, I was disappointed that’s why the 3 stars(lower than the average of 4 stars).

My friend and I had a pleasant dinner experience at this place tonight! The mussels pot(garlic/tomato/white wine) with fries($ 22) was delicious, the fried calamari($ 12) was fresh but not exceptional. What was really good here was beer of course: my favorite was the leffe blonde!($ 7) It was creamy and smooth, and itself was just good enough for me to review this place with 4 starts :) Service wise, everyone seemed to be very kind. The bartender was attentive and the runner had a polite manner with a smile. However, the three other customers at the bar were just so awful. Seriously. If you are drunk, just go home. The group of three appeared to be regulars, and well… That was the only part I had a complaint about this place, which is not this place’s fault at all:) Overall, it was a good experience dining here. I was just eating like a hungry monster at the bar and guess what… I am a picky foodie. This place was good enough!:)

Came here for brunch. The food was delicious– Belgian bacon waffle with salad and side of fries. The coffee was great– just strong enough and not bitter. Biggest issue was the not so attentive service. Had to request coffee refills each time(very small cups!) and felt ignored once food was served. I normally sit at the bar and with this type of service, may do so going forward… Otherwise, I really like the place. What a gem for the UWS!

Went with a friend a few nights ago and had a wonderful dining experience. The establishment is dimly lit — romantic if you’re on a date but it could definitely work for big parties as well. Our server was very attentive and answered all questions that I had. I ordered the lemon sauteed salmon which was unbelievably delicious. Growing up in a household that tends to make all meats WELLDONE, I was initially perturbed by the salmon’s preparation as it seemed undercooked to me. I’ve eaten salmon sushi before so in retrospect it was just my neuroticism about the preparation of meat/fish, but regardless the waiter prompty informed me that this was the chef’s typical preparation(he also said the chef would be happy to cook it a bit longer if I preferred) and I went on my merry way(I didn’t send it back — there truly was nothing wrong with it). My friend also loved her food. I believe she got a chicken sandwich, if that helps anyone who is wondering about what to order. Though neither of us opted for mussels, this place is famous for them so when I go back I’m certainly giving them a try — the tables on either side of us were both eating them(and they come with a generous portion of fries!)

My friend and I came here for a couple of brews and a late dinner Saturday, and it hit the spot! Opting to sit at the bar, we started out our meal with a round of drinks. I ordered a glass of the Framboise Lambic, and she ordered a glass of the Hoegaarden. We then continued with a share of the fish and chips, which was surprisingly good! The fish was ample and not at all over-cooked, and the fries were tasty. I also ordered a Hoegaarden to accompany my portion of the meal. The bartender was helpful in choosing beers, and we were able to sample some before deciding. All in all, it was a pleasant evening out.
