It was all right, small store, items scattered around about the store. Typical small grocery store

Avoid dairy products! Most of them are not fresh. The milk spoiled in a couple days(even though it was not close to expiring). The sour cream I purchased was curdled the day I purchased it. Shredded cheese was oily as if it was sitting out for a long period of time, then refrigerated again. I’m done with this store.

This is the closet supermarket to my house. I normally do a lot of my grocery at target but since I moved to NYC that is not the easiest option. This location made use of their space in this store. They had a lot of brand name items I like. Some of the pricing was a little high. But I have to remember that it is not a major corporation like Walmart. The staff was extremely helpful. The produce section was decent but not extremely impressive.

This is my neighborhood store. Although I mainly use Freshdirect or head up to 72nd for Trader Joes madness, Icome here when I don’t have time to do the usual. The management is excellent at this store. They are highly attentive and polite. I’ve lived in the area for 3 years and the store has greatly improved in products and overall space and cleanliness. I wish they offered Organic poultry, meat and more Organic produce. But I love a business that continually wants to improve.

This place really isn’t bad for what it is. It’s not a supermarket, so get that right out of your head. The produce is usually of questionable freshness but once in awhile I see some really beautiful greens or some nice fruit and that makes me happy. I don’t buy meat here because it just seems a little iffy to me. They have a horrifying open bucket of raw shrimp sitting around in half-melted ice in the middle of the meat section. Anyone could just put their hands or anything in there, and if that’s their attitude about raw fish handling, then count me out. However, it is a pretty well stocked store otherwise and even though the aisles are really cramped, it’s super organized. The guys who do the stocking take it seriously and everything is very tidy. I appreciate that. Sometimes you’ll get a great deal on something, and I’m often surprised by some unique or just plain random item I didn’t think they’d have there – like really nice dried apricots for example. It’s not Whole Foods, but for me it’s convenient and pretty cheap. And I hate Whole Foods anyway.

Fairway is further away, but the food is definitely fresher and there is more variety. Fresh Direct is another option. I like this store over C-Town. C-Town is too hood for me and doesn’t always carry food, believe it or not. Associated has later hours(open til 10 most nights). Could stand to have professional cashiers who are not always texting on their cell phones, but that’s management’s fault.

Agree with Thom B. It is better than other market in the same block. They do deliver to home for a small tip.

What Nada said; the produce section is just pathetic, and C-Town around the corner is a better option.

I strongly recommend going to the C Town on 131st and Frederick Douglass rather than this place. The produce here just hurts me. It makes me weep. Do you realize, Associated, that people need to eat, with their mouths, what you’re selling here? There’s occasionally something delicious, especially in the tuber section, but otherwise, it’s a very small, very sad little blip in the back of the store. I haven’t found the pricing to be that great, though it isn’t as bad as some of the other stores around here. There’s a sprinkling of Goya and other«ethnic» brands that tends to bring the price down slightly on staples like dried beans. The only thing I’ve ever appreciated about this grocery store is the frozen vegetable selection, and that somewhat ironically — they have some awesome off-brand mixes, like«Fiesta Blend», with broccoli and various kinds of beans. A fiesta indeed!

Better selection than other«groceries» in the immediate area. It’s not«superduper», but it doesn’t suck. The staff is friendly and helpful. The customers and neighborhood make the store great.
