The ambiance, the service and the cocktails are diamond quality. The wagyu beef and fresh lobster are the way to go. Perfect place for romantic dinners!

Asiate is my last best dining experience. From the service to the food the décor was top notch. The staff is truly accommodating and attentive — especially our server — Sean– he went above and beyond to keep us happy and pleased with our entire experience. Food Porn: The pre fix Brunch for $ 64 is more than enough. I left full and satisfied like a baby. Appetizers: Wild mushrooms were very good. The blue cheese salad was interesting — but not my favorite dish. Entrée: Get the prime rib with egg and potato — sooo good. Desert: very smooth taste. Loved both of the . Cappuccino and espresso goes well with it. The view and atmosphere is divine! Enjoy your experience!!! I will definitely go back!

For what it’s worth — Amazing service, excellent wine pairing food especially if you appreciate all the fine and/or exquisite details into making each dish stand out on their own. This was my honeymoon dinner so they got us a seating by the window for our dessert and cake! :)

Asiate has it all: good food and great views of the park. Over my many visits, I’ve never been disappointed by my dining experience at Asiate. It’s a truly wonderful choice for formal brunching and business lunches in Midtown. A few highlights on the menu include veloute, branzino, and foie gras terrine. However at times, the service can be somewhat lacklustre. On busier occasions, the servers seemed to be overwhelmed and consequently less than attentive.

Overpriced and overrated. Went there for my birthday, even though the view is supposed to be spectacular, however if you don’t sit at the window seat, it’s just pitch black outside.(Unless u go for lunch). The food was mediocre and way overpriced. I suggest brunch, not dinner.

Come here for dinning during spring summer or fall. I came here in December and it was all dark outside. Having dinner during sunset here would be amazing Obviously. The view here is amazing. The service is attentive without being over bearing. I enjoyed the food. I wish they would have come around again with their bread though(like in Marea) it was really good bread! Aside from the nice view. Food here just wasn’t as good as Marea. For the price($ 500 for 3 ppl). I would prefer Marea across the street

Breathtaking views, definitely a fine dining experience. Portions are small but extremely well presented and professional staff. Definitely a cool spot to go for lunch. To my surprise I felt prices were pretty reasonable considering location and ambiance. Chef sent out free small appetizer and cookie platter for dessert. I was pleasantly surprised with lunch menu pricing for such and nice place.

Ehh… I really think this place appeals more to out of towners. Of course it is a visually appealing place and service is impressive… But shouldn’t it be? This is New York after all, also if I’m paying these prices Id expect nothing less. Ultimately the portions and flavors came nowhere near the price tag. We stuck with the 3 course $ 95 prefix. I was a bit upset that the only beef entrée had an additional $ 20 up charge. The scallop portion to start was good– but scallops are good on their own, and they only gave me 2. Everyone seemed to like the lobster app– they also paid an additional $ 10 so I would hope so. The branzino entrée didn’t taste as fresh as I have come to expect. Decent overall. I tried the duck which was good as was the lamb. What threw me off was the size of the gnocchi entrée. I mean for what should be the cheapest plate the size was absolutely embarrassing. I felt so bad for my friend I shared my measly couple potatoes with her. Highlight was the dessert– the caramel tart was fantastic as was the cheese plate– cheese you can buy anywhere and cheese I had to also pay an additional $ 8 for. Needless to say I left thinking about the dollar pizza I’d be eating later on that night.

This is a pretty spot with a nice view, so yes, request a window seat when you make your reservation! We didn’t have one available but they did move our party of 5.5 halfway through our meal to one so that was nice: P And btw, go up one extra floor if you want a changing table(it’s not in the restrooms on this 35th floor). Anyways-several of us had the three champagne cocktails with elderflower, gin, strawberry, lychee and thyme all mixed into ‘em-they were all delicious but the alcohol here is pricey! But you already knew that coming in, right? I had the truffle gnocchi which was tasty, but super tiny, portion wise. Service was top notch and very accommodating, however!

It was exquisite. As many have said, the overall experience is great. This is a very high quality, unique, and special meal. We did the full 6 course tasting menu, and the paired wine courses as well. We spent about $ 650 for two. No doubt this is one of the most expensive meals in NYC. One tends to ask, is it worth it? For the quality of the food, I guess so. However, for the quality of the food and the wine courses, and the service, and the view, it is a very fair value for an incredible evening. If money is not your determining factor, and if you like french/asian fusion, and if you want to experience a beautiful and sumptuous restaurant, go for it! The service was impeccable, very prompt. The timing of each course and wine serving was perfect. A very nice touch was the the Sommelier, a very personable and professional young woman. She came by to visit our table in person, and check to make sure we enjoyed the wine courses. Great wine by the way! Her personal attention was appreciated. In summary, a rare and special experience!

Probably the most gorgeous place I’ve dined at in my time in NYC. The space and aesthetics exude elegance and refinement. Located on the 35th floor of the Mandarin Oriental, Asiate boasts floor to ceiling windows with absolutely breathtaking cityscape views that remind you how beautiful this city can truly be. So I came here for a post engagement proposal dinner with a few friends. My buddy popped the question to his now fiancé a few minutes before the restaurant opened up. He worked with the staff earlier in the week to help coordinate everything, and they made sure everything played out perfectly. He really only had good things to say about the staff here. As for the dinner, the rest of us arrived just after the proposal to congratulate them and the six of us were seated in a private dining room. BON-KERS. One side of the room was entirely windows with views of the city, while another side was a huge glass wall encasing hundreds of the restaurant’s wine bottles. Simply amazing. The pictures I posted really don’t do the room justice. The servers were very friendly, professional, and were more than willing to take countless pictures for us throughout the the evening. And the sommelier’s recommendations for champagne and wine were completely on point. The service really was best-in-class, exactly what you expect from a $$$$ restaurant on Columbus Circle. So the only reason I’m not giving a 5 star review is because food just didn’t measure up to the prices. We all ended up going with the prix fixe three course meal($ 95) where we each chose our own appetizer, entrée, and desert. Don’t get me wrong, the food was great, but it just didn’t floor me like the views and ambiance of the place. I choose the lobster to start, the duck breast as my entrée, and the corn pudding for desert. The lobster was tender and paired really nicely with the plums it was served with. The duck was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was extremely juicy, without any gaminess. As for the corn pudding, it was a bit of a miss, but thankfully all of us were willing to share our deserts and the chocolate tart more than satisfied my sweet tooth. The other issue I had was that the portion sizes were a BIT too small, at least for me. I constantly found myself reaching out to eat another roll of bread throughout the dinner. Almost all the dishes were delicious, just not enough to justify the cost. Overall, I’m really glad I came here and not only to celebrate such a special occasion with my friends. The space is just too damn stunning not to see again. I will be back at some point, but next time maybe just for brunch or a cocktail.

Have you ever eaten at a restaurant that distracts diners with an amazing view to compensate for their food? This is presumably one of them. I came for the prixe fix brunch, and left feeling unimpressed for the amount of money I spent. Maybe this is not the place to have brunch since the only other diners were three elderly women and us. I am tempted to go back for dinner since a lot of positive reviews are based on their dinner experiences, but I’m risk averse and would rather spend my time/money on Bouley again. The view, however, is stunning. The colorful backdrop of skyscrapers and a park below is now one of my most prized pictures. Thank God I took pictures the first time otherwise I’d have to pay $ 200 again for that background.

Asiate’s floor-to-ceiling windows on the 37th floor provide an exhilarating cityscape that gets the adrenaline pumping and hearts probing the depth of our love for Manhattan. The dim lighting softly reflects off Asiate’s glass wine racks, spreading a warm bokeh effect throughout the room. Play the part! Soak it up and swirl a heavy body red. From a culinary standpoint, the execution is there and no one will leave disappointed. 3 fixe or tasting, rest assured you’re in good hands. Oh, and Asiate’s amuse bouches are usually really fun.

Made a reservation through OpenTable for a seat next to the window. Arrived at the mandarin oriental 35th floor(where the restaurant is located) earlier than the reservation time on a Saturday, and we got a pretty good view of Central Park and NYC. Another note – not so busy at 12pm, but it looks like the hottest hour is 12:30 — 1:30. Many couples were here, and dressed nicely. I came in a jeans, plain colored shirt, and a blazer(totally cool). Brunch was served, and we were able to pick our own plates for each little course. Brunch was $ 64 per person, quite flavorful, and enough to fill us up. My date actually stayed full the rest of the day. Tea was an extra $ 9. Really enjoyable experience, and glad I chose to dine here. When all is said and done, it costs $ 170 for brunch for two people after tax and tip.

To me New York is big city filled busy people, fashion, and amazing food. My boyfriend and I visited the Big Apple on my birthday weekend and wanted to experience the good food here. He surprised me by taking me to Asiate for a fancy dinner and it was a delightful experience. My favorite part about Asiate is the décor and the view of Central Park. The service is also of course outstanding. The food was interesting because it took Asian food and made a New America spin on it. I also got a lot fuller than I was expecting!!! Other than the rabbit that we got, I don’t think the menu was as innovative as it could’ve been, but I really can’t complain because the view, the service, the delicious food, and the champagne made the whole experience so worthwhile.

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday, and our experience was divine. This restaurant is definitely a must if you’re in the Columbus Circle area and willing to splurge a little on some fine dining. This gem is nestled on one of the upper floors of the Mandarin Oriental. The restaurant overlooks Central Park and some of Manhattan’s prime real estate. The restaurant is pretty fancy, and there were times when I honestly had no idea what I was eating — but everything Asiate had to offer was great. We ordered a variety of different fish and sashimi off the three course prix fixe dinner menu. I think that’s the category where this restaurant shines — seafood. We began our meal with the snapper sashimi and ahi tuna. I would HIGHLY recommend ordering either of the two — especially the tuna. For our second course we ate lamb and Long Island duck. I would say I preferred the latter to the former. Everything about this restaurant is perfect and I will definitely be back to try their brunch!

High-end brunch is something I never believed in, and Asiate only reinforced this. That is not to say that the meal was not delicious – it was. But certainly no more satisfying than your favorite eggs joint around the block. Brunch begins with a gazpacho, bite size crab and beef carpaccio. The last two – awesome, the gazpacho? Not for everyone. By far, the best part of our meal was the fruit parfait which was as delicious as it looked. The Duck and Waffle is the most popular entrée. It sounds phenomenal, but in my opinion fell a little short, as 60% of my duck was fat. Don’t get me wrong, I love duck fat as much as the next person, but there was virtually no meat. I was hoping for Duck & Waffle, not duck fat & waffle. The desert was a passion fruit chocolate tart, which was decent but did not impress me. Asiate’s most redeeming qualities are the view, the top-notch service, and the adorable, complimentary take-out cookie bar on your way out. Though I would rather return for perhaps another meal of the day.

The best restaurant in NYC. Everything from top to bottom is perfect at this place. I’ve never had such an amazing experience in a restaurant. I go to restaurants really often but this place really impressed me. It was my girlfriend birthday celebration, we booked a table at 8:15pm, when we came at 8:10pm hostess was very nice and pleasure to speak, as we were liter bit early and our table wasn’t ready at this time she proposed us to wait in the Lobby Lounge and take a free drinks, it was really nice from her side. Customer service is excellent!!! Then we ordered very delicious 3 course pre fix menu. The view was incredible and unbeatable. Waiter was nice and of course he make some photos. Amazing experience, excellent customer service. Come back soon!

The BEST restaurant I dined in during my holiday in the US!!! As soon as I stepped inside the ground floor of the Mandarin Oriental for lunch, I knew this was going to be a good experience. The expectation built up by the hotel(before arriving at the restaurant) certainly did not disappoint — in fact Asiate was even better than my already high expectations!!! Restaurant is located on a high floor. Loved, loved, loved the décor with floor to ceiling high glass panes looking down onto the snow falling in Central Park. Seating was comfortable and spaced out — around 1 table of diners to 4 empty tables. Food was incredible, the presentation, the taste, and the prices. My favourite thing was the HUGE selection of drinks — the wine room was enormous(probably the biggest I’ve ever seen) and I ordered some sparkling grape juice which is one of the best beverages I’ve ever had. Service was amazing, as expected. Very reasonably priced for this great experience.

Very expensive. Appetizer of Foie gras was amazing. But Wagyu tenderloin was really miniscule, literally like three bites, and a tablespoon on mashed potatoes as a bed. But the real readon i give three stars is that the service was def subpar. The server was rude and intrusive through the meal. I dont mind paying expensive prices, but i expect excellent service. Ive been treated better at lesser places.
