I came here for dinner. The view is amazing. The food is not. The prices are very high. It’s expen$$$ive. But honestly while there’s a huge wow factor in the view, there’s none in the food. It’s just ok. Nothing great. It’s certainly not outstanding as you’d expect it to be at those prices. Yes it’s all technically well cooked. And pleasantly plated. But the recipes lack boldness. Imagination. Taste. That OMG moment. It’s bland food well made. Blah. At $ 35 per plate. So no, the restaurant is not a must-do. All of that said, the pastry chef is far more talented than the chef. And so you do get a happy ending. Hey, if you want a view, and don’t care all that much about the food or the cost, then this place is hard to beat. Just make sure you confirm a window seat. Otherwise you’re paying big dollars for not all that much.

really nice place for brunch; live piano player, beautiful views of columbus circle and the park if you can get a seat near the window. we were seated in the far back but even without a view the place has a very cozy atmosphere. i got the steak and eggs and it was aight, i don’t think i’ve ever had a steak and eggs anywhere thats blown me away, its decent but not worth ordering again. we also had the grilled cheese benedict which was delicious as well as the lobster benedict which had a healthy amount of lobster chunks in it. i had came with a family member who was in a wheelchair and the staff was very nice in accommodating us and storing the wheelchair away for us without any fuss. overall, nice place and attentive service with decent food.

Made a last minute dinner reservation and the staff was so accommodating, especially since I had arrived half an hour late! The moment the elevator doors opened to Robert, I immediately noticed the décor; very«eye catching» with it’s fun and vibrant colors as well as the interesting light installations. Our server, throughout the meal, was very attentive and made sure to check up on us every once in a while. I really appreciated that since nowadays, seems like you have to send out smoke signals to get your waiter’s attention… shame. But not here. Anyways, I ordered the roasted chicken, and oh my, the portion was HUGE! It was definitely filling, and towards the end, I was basically forcing myself to finish it because I did not want to waste one bit of this deliciousness! After we were done with our meal, we were given complimentary desserts, which in our case were pistachio macarons, yum. It was just the perfect amount of sweetness to end an enjoyable dinner. I would definitely come back!

AMAZINGEXPERIENCEALLAROUND! I took my mother there for their Mother’s Day Brunch: 1) Food was exceptional.(First course: Poached Egg over White Asparagus topped with Caviar; Main course: Scallops Risotto with Pancetta; Desert: Pineapple Coconut Tart) 2) View is exquisite. 3) Service is incredible. Definitely a must for those who enjoy experiencing the best in NYC Fine Dining. I highly recommend you request a table overlooking Columbus Circle because it really does make the whole experience.

Made a brunch reservation a month and ½ in advanced for 6 at Robert for my best friend’s 30th birthday, I figured given the amazing 4 – 5 star reviews this would be an appropriate place to celebrate a special occassion. WRONG! The brunch menu and food is below average to average at best and sorely over-priced. A few people in our party ordered the Salmon burger and it was not good, terribly underseasoned. I ordered the eggs benedict and the best I could describe it is… mehh. The service was good, they threw in complimentary truffle chocolates and a birthday candle for my friend, so I throw in the extra star for that. Those of you who rated this restaurant 4 – 5 stars must’ve been the fortunate ones to get a table that overlooks Columbus Circle/Central Park. You all must’ve been on such a high from the view that you overlooked how mediocre/overpriced the food actually is, I bet the view made the food taste better, but unless you can secure one of those coveted spots, go elsewhere. This restaurant was not worth it. Check the«not currently recommended» reviews, they seems to be the more honest and probably no view, not-window seated patrons of the restaurant.

Definitely a special occasion kind of place. We celebrated my birthday there, along with everyone else’s birthday around us! We got very lucky to have a window table(reserve EARLY!) because the view is really the best part. Although the service was also top notch. Our waiter, Jose, was incredibly lovely and made my eating Gluten free and dairy free seem like absolutely no issue, which is always appreciated. Also, my boyfriend had brought them a special GF/vegan cake and after they lit candles and surprised me with it, they cut slices and made beautiful plates for us. The filet was melt in your mouth. The scallops were perfect. you’re definitely paying for the view and the service. But it was a lovely dinner.

The food is delicious, perfectly crafted with fresh ingredients and small but satisfying portions. A menu that is fit for foodies and accommodates dietary restrictions of various kinds, it’s hard not to find what you want there. The wine and cocktail menus are great as well. The view is unbeatable. Tip: request a table by the window if possible and come for lunch!

This was a wonderful place. The view is great. The food was wonderful. I had a curry seafood which was well prepared. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. Really no complaints. It’s not the cheapest place, but considering its location and being NY it was a deal. I will go back on my next visit. By the way the mussels as an appetizer is a good idea. I’m generally not a fan, but they were tasty. For dessert try the little round donuts.

I’ve always seen Robert from down below at Columbus Circle, but never actually knew that it was a restaurant. I had always assumed it was some fancy club or lounge, until one of my coworkers revealed that he was friends with the executive chef. So, I made a reservation! Robert boasts sweeping views of Columbus Circle and Central Park, looking north. The hostess told me that in order to score one of the coveted tables, reservations need to be made a month in advance(really?). I saw tables open up that remained open for the rest of the night. I was hoping to have one of those tables, but instead was seated in the middle of the dining room, which is fine since the ambience is still great. The crowd on Sunday evening trended towards the 40s+ crowd. The service was a little lackluster from the beginning. I had to ask the waiter to bring us bread when all the tables around us already got theirs. Also definitely not the friendliest of waiters I’ve ever had. The food is where Robert shined. A little bit pricey, but reasonable for the presentation and taste. To start our meal, we ordered the tuna carpaccio and octopus. The tuna was sliced very thinly with olives, among other tidbits, on top. It made for a few very flavorful bites. The octopus came with 3 tentacles and was embraced by a chipotle and green sauce, both very delicious. For my main, I got the red snapper with white polenta, clams, lemon, and bacon bits. I loved the touch of the actual lemon pieces on the fish and thought it added the perfect tanginess. Loved the white polenta versus a mashed potato as the starch. The clams were flavorful and large, though out of their shells. The inside of the red snapper was perfectly cooked and the outside was perfectly crispy. I loved everything about this dish and had no complaints. The serving sizes here for their mains are also quite substantial for what I was expecting. I was stuffed by the end of the meal. Of course, we also had to order dessert. We got the strawberry ganache bar made with white chocolate and dulce de leche topped with meringue peaks and paired with a fresh mango sorbet. This was different from anything we’d ever had, but we both enjoyed it very much. We also ordered a scoop of the honeydew sorbet which was incredibly refreshing and not too sweet. Loved it! We were also presented with petit fours which left much to be desired, but after having that dessert we didn’t really care. Quite the pricey meal, but we were both quite happy with our food. Ambience was great, but service could be improved.

It seems to me that this is really a restaurant for visitors, rather than NY residents. Visitors are wowed by the view, but New Yorkers are likely to be much more picky about the food. Frankly, in the several times I had been there, it was all about the view. I had lunch, and then at another time, dinner. The food was just OK and definitely not memorable for being delicious. With these high prices, the food should be much better. But this seems to be common among the restaurants with the amazing views. The food does not have to be great because the view is.

At the end of our trip, we’ve been searching for a rooftop spot to have lunch at. We had noticed Robert’s restaurant after leaving Central Park. Loved the location of the restaurant and thought we should give it a try. Although the spot is super fancy, I loved the different style of people that were there. Like New York fashion, the food was of course over priced. I got a spinach fretta with some potato bits on the side. My cousin got a salmon burger with fries, which the fries were the bomb. Com!(im a fries girl) The service was good. I had asked out waiter if he could prepare my iced coffee(I don’t know why In new York, they don’t make your coffee! Like I’m paying you to make it for me. In Miami, everything is made for you, so that caught me off guard and kind of made me upset. Everywhere I went I had to make my own coffee, like add the sugar and milk) the waiter was nice enough and made me the coffee, which was so good, he got it right! And I appreciate that, cause I have no idea about coffee(cause it’s usually made for me)

The area between columbus circle and lincoln center is a dead zone situated on the edge of a culinary desert that is UWS, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food at Robert. Dishes are mostly high quality so you will forgive the greasiness in a plate of perfectly cooked filet of salmon, or the limp french fries. Staff are all very well-trained and the view is unbeatable.

Love the location of Robert! We came here for brunch and couldn’t get a window seat since we didn’t make a reservation, but it was still a great experience. The food is great, and the service is friendly. I’m withholding a star due to lack of value — for being in Columbus Circle, I would expect outstanding food, not the same quality of food I get at many other brunch places in Soho. Overall, a great place to check out for the view, but not a destination place if you’re any bit of a brunch connoisseur.

NPS = 8 Phenomenal view with a sexy little(and I do mean little) brunch to start your Sunday? This is the place! Make sure to book a window seat weeks(at least 2 or 3 weeks) in advance. They get packed, even though there will be plenty of regular seating if you just walk in. The food is nothing to brag about, honestly. You get a small portion of food for an exaggerated price… but that VIEW! I got the smoked salmon and eggs and I left hungry. But the environment was sexy. There was live music and an overall chill, enjoyable vibe. The coffee comes with actual sugar cubes(regular or brown sugar) and the service is pretty good too. We also got complimentary scoops of chocolate merengue from the chef as dessert, so that was nice. The only other thing that would make this place better would be larger food portions, but the vibe/view/ambiance was so enjoyable you’ll be happy to leave hungry.

**Make reservations as early as you can in order to request a WINDOWCORNERTABLE aka THEBESTTABLEINTHEHOUSE. You won’t regret it!** Ok first things first– if you’re taking an über, lyft, gett, cab, etc… have them drop you off on WEST58th between Broadway and 8th. The entrance is on the other side of the block facing Columbus Circle, but because the circle is for active traffic only, pulling over would be impossible, if not dangerous. That said, once you enter, you’ll see a bank of elevators. Take that to the 9th Floor and let the hostess know about your reservation. Be careful when you walk! The floors are SUPERSLIPPERY. Even for the guys. The décor is absolutely stunning, glassy, mirror-y, and any window table will score you great views overlooking Columbus Circle. We thoroughly enjoyed our cozy corner table. It’s tucked away, but you’re never forgotten by the servers. They do their due diligence checking in on you to make sure you have everything you need. 1. Watercress Soup– I generally love watercress, and I’ve only had a brothy version of watercress soup in the past. This soup with fennel & potatoes was completely amazing! So great to see a different and delicious rendition of watercress soup. 2. Roasted Beet Salad– Solid. 3. Branzino– I like branzino. A lot. But it came out way too charred. At first it wasn’t too bad, but by the end of the meal, the charriness(is that a word?) was kinda getting to me. oh well. Better luck next time. 4. Moqueca– We were initially worried that this would be a heavy dish since neither of us were particularly hungry. We were glad to discover it wasn’t too rich at all. Don’t let the words«palm oil and coconut milk» on the menu stress you out. haha It was lighter than I’d expected, yet wonderfully flavorful. We were surprised to finish the dish! I don’t think I’ve had anything like it– kind of a blend of southeast asian/south american flavors. Amazing. 5. Banana Layer Cake for dessert: This was SOSOGOOD. We were considering going to another spot for dessert but both admitted we were glad we stayed! Highly recommend ending the meal with this! Cocktails: I had the Dark & Stormy. Strong. Would get it again. Service was fantastic– our server was very courteous, would check on us here and there so we wouldn’t feel forgotten in the corner, yet gave us enough space to enjoy the intimate setting. They’re also used to people asking them to take pictures so don’t feel bad doing so. Especially by the windows! Oh and how could I forget– Birthday candle & complimentary dessert– citrusy + packed a punch. So gooddd *Walking distance to Lincoln Center if you’re headed there for a performance after your meal. Our reservations were at 6p and we comfortably made it to LC for the Nutcracker at 8pm.*

This place is amazing. It was a great venue for our Christmas party. The view of Columbus circle was beautiful & so was the overall décor and lighting of the place. The service was great, too. The servers always made sure we had wine and water in our glasses. The food was very impressive. Squash risotto: My favorite part of the meal. It was cooked perfectly and I love the squash accents — the flavors worked really well together. Salmon over squash and zucchini noodles: Really good — again, the food was cooked perfectly. The salmon was delicious and tender. However, it almost seemed like everything was a little too oily? I couldn’t put my finger on it. Mint and fruit mousse: I say fruit because I couldn’t tell what fruit it was… The mousse was more of a creamy jello. I wasn’t a big fan. We also had a couple trays of bite-sized desserts, which were excellent. There was a chocolate one(very, very rich) and a pumpkin one. I loved the pumpkin one! It was like a mini pumpkin pie. Drinks — I tasted a few different things, but my chosen cocktail was the pomegranate Cosmo. The glass was sticky for some reason? But it was very good. The flavors worked well together. Overall, I had a great experience at Robert and I would highly recommend the squash risotto.

Fine dining at it’s finest. Went to Robert for a friend’s birthday, and had a lovely time. There were nine of us and we had a prix fixe three course menu that didn’t include drinks. The staff was extremely professional and attentive, but also had personality which is important when you’re serving a group like us. We began our meal with drinks and bread(good bread). I ordered two cocktails, a Venetian Sparkler before the meal and an Emma Rose(better) with my meal, and both were tasty. For my appetizer I ordered the avocado and shrimp salad, for my main course I had the branzino(cooked extremely well, with a nice crispy skin) with potatoes, and for desert I tried the passion fruit cheesecake. Everything was excellent, period. Our bill was over $ 1200(including bottles of champagne), but it was worth it for the occasion. I’d definitely revisit Robert for the experience. Gorgeous view, fresh food, delightful staff, amazing ambiance.

Mmmm Robert, you are so hot! Lol The place is gorgeous, good size resto, the outer window area facing the Central Park and Columbus Circle(and no, this is not a roundabout, it’s a circle, and there is a difference, lol) are the dining tables, and they are always booked so call in advance to «reserve». #centralparkviewdining #diningwithview The inner areas are lounge tables, no reservation needed, where you can come in for a drink and relax. The place is inviting, décor is chic and modern, and staff very accommodating and friendly, just what you would expect at an upscale New York resto. They were also nice enough to charge my cell phone while I was enjoying my meals with friends. Food was very good, and presentation gorgeous. We had Salmon($ 20) and Seafood Squid Ink Cream Pasta($ 25) Yum! They have lunch, brunch menu, dinner and sunset(3 – 5:30pm) for those in between times. Drinks were good, around($ 12-$ 16) Perfect to bring that special someone, out of town guests, fancy HH, with view of Central Park, the lights of the Columbus Circle, and #JAZZ, live jazz. Make sure to check out the view in the bathroom ;)

Ambiance — Service — Food and The Views all top notch! I had made a reservation here almost a month in advance just to make sure we secured a spot by the windows. The hostess was able to accommodate us with a table with a wonderful view and it was private to enjoy our anniversary brunch and our waitress was so sweet and engaging. Even though the place filled up so quickly and people were waiting for tables we never felt rushed at all. I would love to come back here for an early dinner to catch the sunset and try their options on the main menu. If your here for brunch pick the grilled cheese eggs benny — it was delish!

3.5 stars. Went for brunch at 1.30 on a Saturday and had no trouble getting a table — probably due to it being more expensive than most and the fact that you can’t just stumble upon it. The complementary breads were lovely, especially the mini cinnamon muffin. The petit fours at the end was also a nice touch. I had huevos rancheros — they were tasty but didn’t blow my mind. Very fresh but not particularly well seasoned, also one of the eggs was slightly underdone. I prefer the ones round the corner at Annabels on 9th. The atmosphere was lovely, crisp and fresh and elegant. If you get a table with a park view it would be stunning. Would go back simply for that reason but maybe try something other than brunch.

This has to be one of the best restaurants to visit when celebrating a special occasion. My boyfriend and I enjoyed brunch here right after we got engaged and apparently my boyfriend told the restaurant earlier in the week so the entire staff congratulated us as soon as we arrived! They saved a special seat for us by the window overlooking Columbus Circle and they brought over Prosecco for us to celebrate with. In addition to the friendly atmosphere, the food was delicious! The bread basket was full of tiny fresh muffins that we immediately devoured. I originally ordered the french toast with fruit but when I saw how much food was on the plate I traded my boyfriend for his ricotta pancakes, which was equally amazing! To finish our meal we were brought Moscato for a final toast, along with complimentary dessert with«congratulations» written on the plate. The restaurant is on the 9th floor and the elevator opens directly up to a fun and bright layout. I would absolutely recommend this spot to locals and tourists alike. Thanks so much to Robert for making our special day even more special!!! =)
