The artichoke slice is good. It’s a very thick, dense slice with artichoke dip slathered on top. One slice will fill you up. It’s a meal in itself. I wouldn’t really call it a slice of pizza, more like an entire meal. It’s good but overrated.

Alright, this pizza slice is one of the only thick crust pizza I like. Why you ask? 1. It still has that crunch that I love above a thin crust 2. It is super different than a typical slice. It’s creamy goodness is really on a whole new level of richness. 3. The artichokes are integrated into the sauce that makes the pizza sauce. So the toppings don’t fall off !!! So convenient. 4. Creaminess requires loads of pepper… This pizza had the perfect amount of spice. 5. It is so filling and it’s only $ 5. …just Perfect My recommendations are simple and sweet: Get a single slice of artichoke pizza and let your mind be blown.

Delicious but defiantly nothing for a diet. Small shop with great staff. Freshly baked home made pizza

Came here right after having some drinks at Off The Wagon. I had been dying to try this place and was so excited I made in time before they closed. I got the famous artichoke pizza which was literally amaaaazing. The sauce is really creamy and mixes really well with the cheese, and the artichoke os surprisingly an amazing topping which you’d never expect. Since it was late they also threw in a slice of the crab pizza for free, which was actually not the greatest. Not sure if it was the fact that it was 3am but the tastes were way too heavy and overpowering on a pizza. However, I highly recommend the artichoke pie!

I finally got to try the famous artichoke pizza after having it bookmarked for a while. My friends and I came to this location near Washington Square Park around the afternoon and there was no one there besides us. The place is pretty small with very limited seating but I’m guessing that most people take their pizza to go. My friend and I got the artichoke pizza, while another friend got the crab slice. The artichoke slices are huge and much heavier compared to the crab slice. It was good and we couldn’t finish it but it was definitely worth the price. It was creamy and you could definitely taste the artichoke. The slice was good but I kind of got tired of the taste as I neared the crust. The crab slice was unique since I’ve never had a pizza with crab meat on it before, so it was definitely worth the try. I like how they used real crab meat instead of imitation crab meat. Overall, great pizza place near NYU for students. It was definitely worth coming out here for.

Basically delicious artichoke chowder/dip on top of perfect not-too-soft, not-too-crispy crust/bread, how can you NOT like Artichoke pizza? In my opinion, it’s one of the best tasting & largest quantity of food you can get in Manhattan for $ 5(other than Halal guys). Artichoke pizza is also one of the only drunchies foods I would actually want to eat for dinner. Seating is limited and the space is small, but there are outlets by the bar stools on the right side!

Artichoke is a mandatory stop every time we are in the city. There’s nothing better than walking down McDougal Street just like old times, and while this Artichoke location didn’t exist during our time at NYU, it’s certainly a great addition to the neighborhood. A slice of Artichoke pizza is $ 5, and yes, it is worth every penny. The artichoke and cheese layer is creamy and rich. I am usually not a fan of thick crusts, but Artichoke’s thick and chewy crust is the perfect complement to the gooey, artichoke and cheese topping. One slice is plenty! Artichoke, you’ll always have a pizza my heart.

Ooh Ooh, Gooey! But delicious! Thanks for being open late late late after the New Year. At 3:30am it’s not too busy but the area it is in is still pretty busy for the chill of the after party. This is an order and go or stand around and eat, no seating. Grabbed a few slices of the Artichoke(though the Crab and Vodka slices were tempting) for $ 5 each and this spot makes my visit to three Artichoke Basille’s Pizza location so far. What are the points besides the first notion that the slice when warm is gooey. Gosh, if you’re not careful it can get messy. I suggest eating when warm because the other slices still taste as good cold/room temperature but it’s less fun to eat. The pizza kind of got messy in the bag and boxes. It’s a big slice with thick crust and crisp. A slice of artichoke got separated from the mother ship but I didn’t let it get away. It was subtle in flavor. I need a breath mint. Happy New Year!

Ahh New York City street food at its best. From 53rd and 6th to Artichoke Pizza, you really can’t go wrong. The Artichoke Pizza is very unique in its taste. It has that floury, but very cheesy and artichoke taste to each bite of the pizza. I don’t believe around the rest of the United States you’ll find something like this ever. This food is perfect for occasions such as after a long night of doing things(aka drinking and partying probably haha) in the city to even having it as the main course of your meal in the city.

This was one of the few spots open after 4am on a Saturday. And the crowds knew it! It was packed! The crowd at this hour was mostly a little inebriated, but no one was rowdy. There was no artichoke left, but the meatball was very satisfying, which chunky sauce and a good portion of meat. The sauce is on the sweeter side. The slice was easy to eat standing up.(They had taken away all the chairs at this hour.) Props for handling the crowd at this hour.

Only had artichoke pizza, and will only get the ARTICHOKEPIZZA here! It’s 5 dollars, and it’s big enough and good for snack/lunch. First off, never had artichoke pizza before so it was something fresh and new for me – I always like learning about new things. The sauce is creamy but very salty, and the thing I like about the place here is the dough. It’s not thin, but it is crispy which is not a usual occurence for me when I have pizza with thick dough. It is very crunchy like a snack, and then with the huge creamy spread makes it like a lunch(if you know what I mean). The price of 5 dollars is too much for me for a pizza slice, so I don’t visit as often as I want, but I would still like to recommend it for everyone to try it once.

BESTPIZZAEVER so far that I have encountered in NYC. I got the artichoke pizza for $ 4.50. It was so good I went back in for a 2nd slice. Warning: Do NOT just put the pizza in your mouth, I burnt the top of mouth :(#2fat2furious The pizza is a decent side but I was being fat and got two. I heard the crab is pretty good. I’d def come back, in fact I’m already thinking about when I am going to get this next weekend when I’m in the city again.

This was my first time at Artichoke Basille’s for a slice and I am still conflicted as to whether it was a 3 or 4-star slice, so I’ll round up. You come here for the mushroom/artichoke slice. period. It is purely decadent — like a creamy bowl of wild mushroom soup where you can only take 5 – 6 spoonfuls or you feel like your arteries will clog in 5 hot seconds. I shared it with a friend late night and it hit the spot. We also ordered the regular slice — which was not great(I don’t suggest it). We were gnawing on the mushroom one and used the regular as a chaser to dilute the cream. I would go again, to a different location, to share the mushroom/artichoke slice.

Yay, 5 slices a day, keep doctors away! Location: The first time I saw Artichoke Basille’s Pizza was at Chelsea High Line. Many people were waiting outside and I was like WTF?! PIZZA? WAITINGFOR A LONGLINE? NOPE But yesterday, I was walking on MacDougal. After Joe’s Pizza, I was like yeah, more pizza coming. And I saw Artichoke, I knew that I was indulging pizza fest. Location: MacDougal;s Artichoke has little decoration, few seats and crowded people. People are coming and going Pizza: I HAD Artichoke and Sicilian. Huge, huge, and huge. Artichoke is thick. It is not typical NY think crust pizza and the bottom dough is heavy. But the top sauce is soft and smoothie. I am still wondering what’s going on with this untypical sauce. The first few bites are good but then I got a little bit bored. Then, the thick crust at the end really enlightened me. It is crispy! WOW Sicilian is bit salty but delicious! Heavy loaded with cheese but the bottom is as heavy as cheese making the flavor about right! And yeah, crust is still crispy. Love it Sicilian is 5? and Artichoke is 4.5? really worth the price for a cheap lunch or dinner

Artichoke Basille’s Pizza NY Manhattan Greenwich Village 6pm Friday 4th December 2015 Four Stars I am checking off the essential Nyc pizza places and Artichoke is definitely worth trying. There was no line at this hour. I had a meatball slice($ 4.75). If that seems expensive it’s because their slices are huge. The crust was firm, with a crispy bottom but a thick chewiness throughout. The savory sauce was on the heavier side with a deeper red color and bolder cooked flavor. The cheese was thickly layered but lacked some freshness. The meatballs were delicious. It was moist, well seasoned, and very prevalent. The toppings left very little exposed crust. I enjoyed this slice. The service was friendly. There are only five seats in the place. Next time I will try the artichoke soup slice.

Had the crab slice. Flavor is pretty good but the crust is quite thick and hard — it’s like a thick cracker. Friendly guy at register. Offered to cut our slice in half.

I love Artichoke pizza(E14th is the way to go), but I’ve been to this location several times, and every time, their bread was thicker and their sauce was so minimal, and it was so disappointing. Normally, it’s like cream of artichoke on bread, but this slice is so dry. GOTOTHEEAST14THLOCATION!

I can’t believe I ate an entire artichoke slice by myself. It’s really good, but can not be described properly because any way you describe it makes it sound gross so just try it. I would say share it with a friend unless you’ve been drinking all night long and have developed bottomless pit stomach like I had last night. Not somewhere i’d expect great customer service, they just take your money & give you your slice but I’m totally okay with that. It can get crowded being that it’s a small place, luckily they serve very quickly and the pies are fresh. Recommend.

Man, I’m not sure if they had an off night or what. This pizza was thick and the flavor was just not there. When you think of a New York style pizza, you think of cracker-thin crust. This was thin, but not thin enough. It had that nice crunch but then was very doughy. The sauce was like a cream sauce and I don’t remember much cheese. I had a couple bites and then am sad to say threw the rest away. I ain’t wasting my time on no sub-par pizza! If you’re in the area, Joes is just down the street, and Bleeker St. is right around the corner. If you’re looking for a slice, go to those two first.

Enjoy!

I love that this place is open ridiculously late. There’s nothing better than grabbing a huge artichoke slice($ 5) after a long night of adventuring. The pizza is great, the service is fast, and the portions are huge – what more could you want? I usually otp for the artichoke slice for it’s creamy goodness. It’s kind of like a thick soup on the crust, it’s mind-blowing! I’ve had the vodka slice before, as well, and it’s pretty incredible, but a bit too salty for my taste. Highly recommend!
