Just stopped in after work and was met by a very friendly waitress. Very tidy atmosphere and seem to be open late. Had the bubble tea and sweet potato roll. Both very good.

Really love all the Malaysian dishes I’ve tried. They make a good red curry. Waitress is always very friendly.

I enjoyed the pepper shrimp and a glass of wine. This is a nice cozy place. It’s near central park and compared to other places, this was pretty cheap

I visited Amcook and the service and food were great. I had the Pad si yu along with the Indian pancake and curry and both were very delicious. I was a little sad to see the place empty but it’s worth visiting at last once.

I waited to use my groupon after stopping by for a view of their menu. but I understand why they get the worst review on food and way overpriced iems. I saw bad reviews for lunch special so I decided to use the $ 2 groupon for cominationspecial shrimp with lobster sauce– can they ruin that??? of course– first groupon discounted my voucher 20% so happy I paid $ 8.80 for $ 20 so I go there and showed the guy the receipt for $ 8.80 — he demands tax paid on $ 20 now try to explain tax is on actual amount paid not the original amount correctly it should be around73 cents but the facts zoom past his non understanding brain– so he agreed to lop of the eggroll rather than me pay $ 2.20 tax because I was determined not to pay another penny for this disaster — so he made me lose around $ 2 off the groupon– one less eggroll– i ordered shrimp with lobster combo with fried rice and eggroll– i could not check it as the lady bound the plate tight with plastic– i came home and the food was still warm — soup too and it wasnt bad tasting– but when i opened the shrimp with lobster sauce = in there was an eggroll not so small muc=shy from mixing with the lobster sauce rice and shrimp– now any dunce knows a good eggroll is crispy– how many times has anyone had takeout and the eggroll is in those little fresh waxy like pouch– now i understand why this place is a horror and i will never eat there again– duuh an eggroll is supposed to be crispy chinese cooking 101= i just called same ta guy arguer — who says oh its a combo dinner so its packed all in one plate– no matter if it looks and taste like yesterdays garbage he does not care yiou ordered you paid — is there a date for this place to go out of business yet? im calling for my refund from groupon– this goes beyond senseless– no greT PORTIONBUT A BIGICKYMUSHYEGGROLLISNOTTHEWAYITSSUPPOSEDTOBE

Disgusting and over priced ! We ordered drunk man noodle which was saturated in a creamy sauce that turned it into a soup. We didn’t even have the courage to actually eat it since the noodles seemed under cooked and extremely soupy. AVOIDAVOIDAVOID!!!

This review is about the Chinese food portion of the menu I have ordered delivery from here twice and have been pleased with Amcook both times. My orders arrived in about 30 – 40 minutes which I find acceptable time frames. Both delivery men were friendly and delivered the food with a smile. When I called in my order the woman who answered was also very friendly. These things should always be standard but I have had many bad experiences with other restaurants so to me it stood out as a great feature. The food: The Chinese options were your standard Americanized Chinese, which is what I was looking for and all of the food was quite tasty. Sesame Chicken was all white meat with a nice crunch on the outside, lo-mein also offered nice flavor without being too greasy. Dumplings were slightly too doughy(but who am I kidding I didn’t mind) I have not ordered sushi from here, nor do I ever plan too. If you had a bad sushi experience here, try to come back for the Chinese. I would give 4 stars but I wish the menu had small and large size items because I don’t want to pay almost $ 10 for either a lo mein or fried rice dish for just myself. I also think it would be a better idea to just specialize in one type of cuisine. If you’re not doing sushi well, don’t make it! Leave it to a Japanese restaurant.

First review I have ever written on Unilocal. AMCOOKFUSION. I have been a customer for almost 10 years. Name has changed but I have stayed on board as a customer. Mostly deliveries. I write because my last 5 online orders from have been missing items they is usually send with orders at IVY/AMCOOK. NOFORTUNECOOKIES. NOCONDIMENTS/SAUCES. NOGOOD. To whoever reads this… These are things you add automatically to orders. Especially orders that are over $ 35 each for 3 or more people. I plan to call and speak to you directly but I want to be hopeful you’ll read this and make adjustments to your already wonderful food and ongoing business you clearly care about. I have 100 other options. Just make it right. Many thanks!

Comfy place polite staff. The food came out fast the shrimp dumplings were extremely delicious!!! and the spicy tuna rolls i have to say the lobster tempura rolls weren’t fresh i feel like the tempura wasn’t fried in fresh oil other than that my overall experience was good.

I ordered delivery and it was pretty awful. It came quickly, but food was less than sub-par. I’m a vegetarian, so I ordered an avocado roll and an order of veggie eggrolls. The avocado roll had almost no avocado– was mainly rice and seaweed. It was warm and chewy and didn’t seem fresh. The egg rolls were actually one eggroll(even though the menu said 2) and was just okay. I would be weary about ordering fish from them since the veggies didn’t seem fresh at all. Seems like a recipe for puking and sleeping by the toilet. If I were you, I would go for Planet Sushi or Tenzan– both delicious!

I understand how much it takes to run a successful business and try to concentrate on positive aspects of my experience when rating a place, but except for a very polite waitress, there wasn’t much positive at this place. First of all, the food was awful. I’m not the kind of person that throws out food easily, especially not sushi. I understand that this is not a real sushi place, but even for a so-called-sushi place, sushi here is simply awful. My mom said she could make a better one and I’m sure that is true(she’s never made sushi). We both left our rolls unfinished and my stomach already feels funny. Their sushi rice is not a sushi rice — overboiled and too much of it. Rolls keep opening up. They gave us tuna instead of salmon that we ordered. The special rolls offer bad combinations — fried and w mayo. It just tasted wrong. The appetizer was okay(we had a sampler). We ordered green tea that’s usually house-brewed, delicious, and free at most other places that serve sushi. Theirs was old-looking tasteless tea-bags that probably costs $ 1 for a box of 100 at a Chinese supermarket. Yet they charge $ 2 per cup. The bathroom had no paper towels(on both visits here), drier or at least a napkin of some sort that sticks to your wet hands(that was the case during my first visit). The restaurant had a funny smell. I got used to it while waiting, but it was definitely unpleasant. Lastly, don’t know who chose paintings and decorations at this place — but they are just as bad as their sushi. Absolutely not worth it. Not even with a groupon. Not going back.

Note to self: If a restaurant claims to make Thai, Chinese AND Japanese food, all under one roof: Run! …But apparently: In ‘Eat 24 Review’(Did you ever hear of this?) these guys got 5 stars! –out of the possible 1000 total stars you could score, I guess? They also got voted ‘Best Restaurant to Order Food!’ –Did they leave out the word CRAPPY here? What do I give the one star for? For the sweet girl that picked up the phone and patiently answered my questions, while I was making up my mind about what to get. And for delivering what you call ‘food’. –Tom Kha Kai: Ok soup, but the chicken must have been made out of rubber. –Chicken Satay: Rubbery chicken strings, wrapped around BBQ sticks. My dog actually liked it. I didn’t. –Pad Thai: It was ‘okay’, with some overdried shrimps in there. –Bubble Tea: It was supposed to be coconut flavored. The bubbles were flavorless, and I could barely taste the coconut in that white colored watery fluid they were in. So: Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, or the menu by the things it claims to be on the front page. Bummer altogether.

Do NOT go here, this is the shittiest and most overpriced food I’ve had in a long time. I don’t care to write anything else, just read other people’s reviews. Things to highlight: — Entrees don’t include white rice(what?) — The seafood is all overdone — I understand fucking up squid, but shrimp? Like come on… tastes like rubber — BUTITBETTERNOTTASTELIKERUBBERFOR the portion size to price ratio. $ 19 for a small plate with a few(omg were they frozen???) vegetables and ‘seafood’ in a green curry sauce. Super weird. The menu also has Chinese/Japanese/Thai food on it, so I’m not really sure on how to comment. — Overly attendant and creepy waitress that watches you while you eat. — The feeling that you want to jump shimp but you can’t because you just cracked open a beer you brought with you because it’s BYOB. LETMETELLYOU — BYOB does not compensate for the overpriced menu or shit food. DON’T GOHERE, PLEASEIFYOULOVEYOURSELFYOUWON’T.

DONOTEATHERE! This is ridicules, but the owner or someone affiliated with Amcook purposely writes negative reviews for nearby Asian/Sushi restaurants to make them look bad. Not only that, but they’ve created multiple Unilocal accounts and gave themselves the 5-stars reviews you see on Amcook’s page. They even COPIED/PASTED my negative review of this place and posted for another sushi place in the area. Way to be creative! You know how I know? Easy! Go to filtered reviews on the bottom of this page and look for the reviews posted by Huti M. They wrote five reviews on Unilocal for sushi places located next to Amcook on the same day. Four of them were one-star reviews and the five-star review was for Amcook. Look at the review for«Amber Restaurant» and you’ll see it’s copied/pasted from my negative review of this place. This is disgusting! Not only is this place swarming with vermin, bad service and food, but also bad business. If they’re capable of this, who knows what other things they’re doing to make a buck(maybe using low quality food, which would explain the bad food). DONOTEATHERE! — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – Like the other reviewers, I came to Amcook using a voucher for appetizers and entrees. When we got to the restaurant, we learned we couldn’t order any of the sushi entrees, which we didn’t mind too much, but the restaurant should properly indicated this information on the voucher. We ordered from their Chinese menu instead. Unfortunately, I didn’t experience any of the great service or food that other reviewers mentioned. The food tasted weird and even worse were the small portions we got. The service was okay, but the waitress seem to treat us differently because we were using the voucher. We were seated all the way in the back across from the kitchen, and it didn’t look too pleasant in there. I was kinda curious about the grade they got from the sanitation department and looked it up online. I wish I didn’t, because it looks likey have a vermin problem(see below), ewww! Never going back there again, deal or no deal!
