Right next to Beacon Theater. Had been told that the food was good and it didn’t disappoint. We had a few apps including the quesadilla and calimari. Both had a sushi roll after and were full. Drink menu is good. Overall B+ Expense for 2 with drinks was about $ 100. I would recommend, especially if you are going to a show at the Beacon because nothing in that area is as good.

We came for dinner before a show across the street at the Beacon Theater. We had Fabulous drinks(frozen margaritas, French martinis and more!), Okay food, and a quick enough meal that we made it just on time! Great for location on the UWS, but the service wasn’t Super friendly…(our particular server openly sneered at my boyfriend’s mom when she asked about some ingredients in one of the meals) and the food didn’t blow me away, especially for the price. I had some sushi-meh, but the chicken quesadilla and fajitas were great! Worth a visit for the drinks if you’re in the area.

Pros: Nice ambience No reservation Close to beacon theater Great picture taking space downstairs Cons: Too much fusion for me, I didn’t even see much fusion. Crab cakes: they should at least have some crab in them as for the name Shrimp dumplings: nothing spectacular Tacos: best out of all three, but I just wish the meat was shredded and not almost puréed

A low key, Asian/Latin fusion type establishment on the UWS. They offer a prix fixe menu with a plethora of options, and when dining in groups this really keeps things simple for when the check comes. You can get filet mignon for a small upgrade as well. The quality of their sushi is pretty decent, and they offer interesting choices such as spicy tuna with banana in a roll. The service was warm and friendly, very efficient. They did not mind wrapping up several items at the end(no room for dessert!) and even included chips and their salsa as a surprise. Lastly, their margaritas are a high point. Pineapple and jalepeno are the best options.

The ambience was nice and the service was excellent. The menu has some surprises on it, some of which may be worth checking out.

I LOVE This place. I went here on a date 5 years ago and recently returned. My friend and I sat at the bar and enjoyed the very pleasant bartender, along with trying one of their citrus infused shots(YUMMY and strong!). We tried the pasta and a fish dish, and both were incredible. This place is very close to the beacon theatre and is efficient, so you won’t have to worry about missing the show. They also had drink specials and there wasn’t an empty seat in the house! Definitely recommend going here.

It’s kind of a weird combo– like they just took the menu of a sushi place and a latin place and offer them in the same establishment. For me, it kind of worked because I kind of wanted a sushi roll after I polished off my quesadilla, but if it weren’t for that rare circumstance the combo would be totally bizarre. Food was good, not great. I’ve had better sushi and better quesadillas in the city, although not under the same roof to be fair.

Japanese — Latin fusion is a bit of an odd combination, but I had a delicious meal here. The menu is about one third Japanese, one third Latin, and one third either fusion or some random different cuisine. We split a few different small plates to get a feel for the food. I wouldn’t heartily recommend the sushi here. If that’s what you’re after, I’d go to a sushi restaurant. It’s not bad by any means, and can be a kinda cool appetizer, but it lacks some subtle touches that makes truly great sushi. The Latin food we tried was better than the the Japanese food, though the meat in our tacos was a bit on the wet side. Still, beautifully presented and intensely flavorful, representative of the more haute cuisine Mexican that has been challenging perceptions of Mexican as cheap, low-quality food. The atmosphere is nice, though the street traffic is busy enough to become a stress on outdoor seating. Our server was professional, helpful, patient, and funny. I enjoyed my experience, but I would probably seek out something new before returning.

Nothing spectacular about this place. Restaurants like this one are a dime a dozen in NYC. They claim to be a Latin-Japanese fusion restaurant but I saw very little fusion going on. All the dishes were either Latin OR Japanese or neither. Got the trio of dips as an appetizer. Not a real bold choice here but it was fine for what it was. For entrees, we got the salmon and the angel hair pasta w/meatballs. The salmon and wasabi mashed potatoes it came with were actually pretty good. You can’t really mess up salmon though or can you? But no complaints here. The angel hair pasta on the other hand was not very tasty(lacked a lot of sauce) and the meatballs were extremely dry. I suppose it was my mistake ordering an Italian dish at a so-called Latin-Japanese fusion place. Overall, not a bad place to go but I don’t see myself going back unless I moved right next door and needed a decent place to eat at with little travel needed.

I ate at Citrus Thursday night before attending a concert at The Beacon. While the food wasn’t bad, I expected a little more fusion from a fusion restaurant. The menu was pretty much Asian OR Latin fare with little fusion between them. It probably should be called a Fission restaurant(science joke alert!) My chicken quesadilla was completely ordinary, but my friend’s steak and goat cheese quesadilla was pretty intense. The service was nice and prompt(which was important due to the concert we were going to). All in all an average experience.

Surprisingly good. For some reason, even though I live practically across the street, I’ve avoided Citrus for over a year. We went last week and it was great! Good Prix Fixed menu for dinner too! There was a delicious banana & spicy tuna roll on the menu that night that I’m still lusting after, and I’m not a big sushi fan. Everything was tasty throughout the night — the only thing I would say isn’t the best is dessert. We had an apple pie and cheesecake that were a part of the Prix Fixed menu, and they were both kind of lame.

Just went for my first time. I don’t eat seafood, and this place is very seafood-heavy — not just the sushi bar. I’ll also say that when we sat down the smell of cooked seafood is very strong. This got better as the evening went on; may have just been that someone near us had just had a particularly strong-smelling dish delivered. It sounds funny to give props to the chips and salsa, but the salsa is so unique and delicious I definitely need to start there. I feel the same way about salsa as I do about gazpacho — the chunkier it is, the harder it is to maintain a balance of the flavors and something always dominates(peppers, cilantro, etc.). This salsa is pureed, and outstanding. We had the chicken fajitas, which the person who ordered them said were really great. I had the quesadilla with steak and goat cheese; truly delicious, and surprisingly filling. It came with some greens in the center that had a soy/ginger-type dressing, and the flavors went really well with the steak and goat cheese. My main issue with this place — good for them, not so much for guests — is that it is PACKED. We went on a Friday night — happy hour is hopping, so it’s super loud. Great place for a group but not as much for a one-on-one if you go during that time. I’d definitely like to try it again.

This restaurant is AWESOME! Amazing blend of Latin and Japanese flavors and a wonderfully quiet romantic/trendy atmosphere. Highly recommend. AMBIANCE: Dark and orange with candles at every table. Definitely a great place for couples or small groups. WINE/DRINKS: There is an EXTENSIVE wine list with at least 50 bottles of wine to choose from as well as a huge selection of your typical«Latin-flavor» drinks including margaritas and mojitos. FOOD: I absolutely love Japanse and Latin food so this restaurant is right up my alley. I love that you can enjoy chips and salsa and tacos and then get sushi for dinner — what a cool idea! If you like sushi with a little flair, definitely try the«roll combination plate» which is 3 rolls for $ 24. The rolls are inventive(like spicy tuna with banana and salmon with mango). I love the Latin flair on a Japanese classic. Overall, this is just such a fun place with a really interesting menu to choose from. We will definitely be back, especially since it’s such a short walk to the Lincoln Center.

Went to this restaurant on Saturday January 4, 2014 for dinner with 3 others, spent $ 200.00+ dollars on dinner and then seen a sign behind the Sushi guy that said«NOSPITTING, NOSMOKINGANDNOEATINGINTHISAREA” which I found to be quite weird almost stomach turning. If you can’t control the people, what makes you think you can control the quality. Will not be going back. To the owners/managers: There are somethings the customer should not see FYI. This sign just tells me to eat at my own risk. I also posted the picture in the picture section.

Still wonderful after 9 years! Vance was the best! Burgers were excellent, Sea Bass was tasty, ½ of Chicken was tender, Turkey Meatballs were terrific. The ambience remains pleasant — so thankful to have this place to come back and visit. Thanks Citrus, keep up the good work!

I went here for a professional organization’s meeting, which took place in the basement. I’m not sure if they turned off the A/C or what, but there was no air and it was super hot. I really thought I was going to pass out from heat and lack of oxygen. The crab cake appetizer was good. The glazed salmon was just average. I really recommend the manager/owner to look into the basement situation. It looked like an event room, which means that a group of people who produce body heat would gather there. Why is there no vent or A/C???

— came here since we were starved after a long walk to levain bakery — nice outdoor seating on a summer day — attentive service — free appetizer of chips and a tasty tomato based sauce — we each ordered a roll. the sushi rice was too dry, not well seasoned. seaweed was already chewy. hence the 2 stars.

Still 4 stars. My food was good. Overpriced. Had the boxed malbec. Just didnt ask if it was boxed and it was all good. U know boxed wine is the new organic? Yup. Supposed to be more eco friendly. iam buyin it! OK, so had a chicken salad for 18 $. Overpriced yes BUT free range natural chicken? Yup, I’ll pay for that. Great service. Everyone pleasant. No stink service. Indoor or outdoor seating. Nice bathroom. You guys need paper towels tho so I can open the door after I wash! As I said before, I’ll come again yup.
