Take note: these are no ordinary sandwiches. These are gourmet Italian sandwiches made with the freshest and tastiest ingredients. There are a lot of choices, each one more tempting than the last, so take a minute to peruse the menu before ordering. On my first visit, I ordered the Brando, which is served hot and comes with smoked chicken breast, provolone cheese, sweet roasted peppers and arugula. It was delish. How delish? I intended to eat half of it and save the other half for dinner, but the first half was so good, the second half just had to follow. I don’t think these are expensive at $ 12-$ 13 a pop because you get a sandwich the size of a whole baguette. At other places, you’d pay that much for a sandwich half the size, here you get a foot-long sandwich made with quality ingredients. They use the best meats and cheeses like prosciutto and fresh mozzarella. Interior is quaint with communal tables. Service is friendly. Great Midtown lunch spot.

Haven and heaven to sandwich lovers ! So many great fresh, tasty options on very good variety of bread . And now even more with their hot sandwiches ! I miss the roast beef option, so maybe they will add it . Worth the lines !

Came here with my coworkers on a Friday to grab lunch and beat the lunch rush. There’s usually a line out the door. There was an overwhelming list of sandwich options, and everything(bread, meats, etc.) looked fresh and of high quality. The sandwiches are really large, so I opted for a ½ sandwich(still about half a foot) and soup combo, which was $ 13. Today’s soup was chicken & orzo, which was tasty. For my sandwich, I got the Alidoro hot, which includes prosciutto, hot peppers, sweet peppers, mushroom paste, fennel, hot spread, arugula. It had a good kick. Definitely will come here again!

Went today, left unimpressed. First of all, they didn’t tell me focaccia would be extra money($ 1 extra but that’s not the point). I ordered the Alyssa and it came with about 3 pieces of chicken on it. The dressing was also lackluster. I won’t be back– there are far more places to spend less than $ 14 on a subpar sandwich in New York.

Breakdown: Solid Italian Sandwiches Great lunch spot in Midtown Manhattan. I ordered a Pinnochio sandwich with prosciutto, sopressata, fresh mozzarella, sweet roasted peppers, and olive paste. The sandwich is a little pricey and the drinks even more but the food is solid. I also suggest getting one of their brownies because they’re good.

Great sandwich. I tried Alidoro sandwich and it was pretty nice but the spicy sauce was not spread evenly so I only started enjoying my sandwich as I reached half sandwich mark! I was supposed to share it with my wife who was at the time working her way through Il Soprano. I put up a good fight to protect the other half of Alidoro as didn’t like the sweetness in Soprano. Overall a pleasant lunch with my wife during our work break. Great success! :-)

Probably the best sandwich shop around the midtown area. It is on the pricier end but you can taste the quality. My favorite is the Romeo with hot peppers on tremezzino bread.

Sooo good! Usually I don’t like sandwiches but this place is the bomb. It has all my favorite types of meat like prosciutto and salami and cheeses as well like mozerella and provolone. It’s appropriately priced with the most expensive sandwich being around $ 13 – 14. I got the half sandwich and soup combo and chose the Alidoro sandwich with whole wheat bread. The bread was great and so was the sandwich which came with a bunch of peppers, arugula and prosciutto. Loved it! The soup was decent but not the best. Still the sandwich really took the cake!

This place was absolutely delicious. The staff is very friendly and the design is kind of cool inside. I ordered the Pinocchio which is prosciutto, soppressata, fresh mozzarella and roasted sweet peppers, this sandwich was excellent and I am going to get it again. I then got two freshly baked cookies to go with it. Everything was so fresh and good a must try in Manhattan.

I ordered the truffleta with fresh mozzarella and paid $ 2 extra for mozzarella and received none on my sandwich. Very disappointing.

I was recently invited back for another visit to Alidoro in hopes they could find something I would like. The manager asked me want I liked and had previously. Using my taste preferences, she helped create one of the best tastings sandwiches I ever had. She started off with Brando($ 12) as the base, using one of the softer bread instead of the hard bread I had last time. My last sandwich was a bit dry so she added extra dressing and a pepper spread to Brando. It was definitely a better tasting sandwich than the last one I had. However, it is a bit pricey(I believe it was a little under $ 20 in total with the additions — full disclosure, I was provided this sandwich for free. The owner did not ask for a review in return but I did because I appreciate the time they took to find something I would like.) so I am going to reserve this place as once in awhile treats.

Yes, it was pricy, but the presentation was very modern and clean and the quality of everything was top notch. I got the Pinocchio and it is quite a bit of food and each bite was absolutely perfect. The meat was amazing and cut razor thin, my whole experience was excellent.

This place is very good for lunch, I wish they were open on weekends. I think I lucked out when entering since there was no line, but one formed quickly after me. It takes a little longer than expected to make a sandwich, but it’s worth the wait. The bread is the best part of the sandwich, and I’m definitely considering coming here to just get a roll or a small loaf for lunch. The ingredients in the sandwich are very fresh and very Italian. The sandwich itself is great quality. The price is a little high — I’m definitely only going here if I’m having a good day or if I’m feeling a little spendy.

$ 20 for a sandwich(including specialty bread and add-ons) – that’s pretty much way more than I’ve ever paid for a sandwich in my life, but when you live in NYC and have the amazing convenience of ordering almost anything your heart desires on Seamless, these are the kinds of things you find yourself doing – spending way too much on a weekday lunch. But then again, cheese and meat are not cheap, nor is great quality. And the namesake sandwich I got from Alidoro was definitely of superior quality(also, spicy as hell, so be prepared). The focaccia was out of this world. I look forward to the next time I decide to throw all chastity to the wind and spend $ 20 on a delicious sandwich. Also, Alidoro outsources their delivery service, so my sandwich took over an hour to arrive. Something to keep in mind: order before you’re hungry!

I bought a gilt voucher for $ 8 worth $ 15 in food from Alidoro. I was excited to use this voucher as the reviews were good and we had a catering order at the office and the chocolate chip cookie platter was hot, gooey and delicious. As for the sandwiches and my experience with the gilt voucher, subpar. I went to use my gilt certificate on the day it expired(8⁄11). Even though the voucher expires on 8/11, it disappeared from my gilt vouchers and showed it was expired on this day before I could use. I was honest to the people at the counter and showed them the gilt app and how it couldn’t be redeemed, but I could still provide them with the code. They had to check with the manager so I stood at the counter waiting and waiting as she took her sweet time. I was totally fine waiting as I am sure the gilt vouchers are a total pain, but the next thing totally irked me. A girl about 10 people behind me, came up to the counter and it was her time to pay. I saw she was using a gilt voucher and she was cashing out with zero problems. I spoke up and said does that expire today, mine isn’t showing up in my gilt app, and she said yes, it expires today, I am having the same issue. She happened to pull up her email and use that at the counter instead of the voucher off the app. She was cashed out within 2 minutes and she was on her way… I was confused as to why. 10 minutes later. I am still standing here waiting for the manager to approve the same certificate that girl behind me had no problem using. I brought it up to the man at the counter explaining. if she used the same voucher then why is she gone and I am still standing here. I continued to pull up the same email the girl just used, but apologetically he said I had to wait for the manager. She finally came over, a bit rude, and wrote down my voucher. I walked all the way from Rockefeller plaza to try this sandwich shop and it was very annoying that it took 20 minutes to get out of there because of the gilt voucher issues. It was also very annoying they were making up different rules for each customer using it. On to the sandwich, I got the Ortoletto, which was nothing special. For how expensive the sandwich is, the amount of food on it was very little, especially considering no meat or cheese. At the end of the day, the gilt voucher was not worth it… at all The Ortoletto is usually $ 11.50 and I added the hot pepper spread for $ 1.50, which they put barely put any on. The $ 8 gilt voucher really wasn’t worth the hassle of walking to or trying out this place. Once you pay the tax on the gilt voucher, its just about the same price as buying a $ 15 sandwich and not dealing with the hassle of the voucher that doesn’t work.

Great sandwiches, often crazy midtown lines. I get overwhelmed by all the menu options and usually end up ordering weirdly and regretting. Got the Valentino today(smoked mozzarella, artichokes, sweet roasted peppers, arugula) with all my favorite vegetable things– but it somehow missed the mark. Probably because they didn’t add the baby onions I paid extra for, so that stung. But it would all have benefitted greatly from some olive oil, balsamic & S&P. I think they were just sloppy cuz it was prime button-up-lunchtime. Next time I’ll come around 2.

I ordered the Dino($ 12) on a sfilatino(+$ 1). It was big, a legitimate 12″ long and 3−4″ wide. The bread was extremely chewing. If you’re not a fan of chewy bread or have teeth/jaw issues, I would highly recommend not getting it. I enjoy chewy bread, but it was too much for me. I had a headache by the time I was done eating from all of the excessive chewing and tearing I had to go through to finish the sandwich. The arugula and sun dried tomatoes were a good compliment to the smoked mozzarella and prosciutto. Next time, I will get some hot pepper spread(+$ 1.50) and/or truffle oil($ 1.50) because I felt that the sandwich was a bit dry. Overall, it was very good and I will definitely go back.

I had the Fiorello(mortadella, fresh mozzarella, caponata of eggplant) on Stirato bread(long, baguette-shaped with a light brown crust with a sourbread, nutty aftertaste). The quality of the food was superb, and the palette true to the simplicity of a real Euro-inspired sandwich. I will absolutely go here for my sandwich cravings. The only thing I was a bit disappointed about was the eggplant– I expected the caponata to be warmed, and it wasn’t, so it didn’t feel as hearty. Perhaps next time I’ll ask them to warm it up and maybe add some speck for a firmer texture! YUM!

Finally made it here on a weekday that I had off from work. Had the Pinocchio and it was bomb. Prosciutto, Soppressta, fresh mozz with sweet peppers and an olive paste it was delicious. Props for the place also being very nice inside with ample seating and the sandwich time was quick. Would give five stars except it’s a little pricey. Portion is large though.

4.5 stars. We got lunch delivery for work and the girl on the phone was very helpful. She said they don’t deliver past 6th ave(we’re on Broadway), but they made the exception for the extra block. The menu is extensive so there’s no chance you won’t find something you like. We got: the Romeo the Marina the Poverati the Alidoro the Brando The sandwiches are MONSTERS. DELICIOUSMONSTERS. It’s so large that you need two hands to even carry the sandwich. So yes, they are $ 13/$ 14 but it’s worth it because you sure as hell won’t finish it in one sitting. You also get to choose what kind of bread you’d like. Options are: flat bread, baguette, white, wheat, and sour baguette. I got the baguette, and I do wish I got the flat bread. The baguette was so rough that it made my jaw tired. I also got an iced tea, which was a pretty horrible iced tea. Other than that, we all loved our sandwiches and I’d love to try some others.
