George Clooney scored a cool $ 40m to do Nespresso commercials, but at least he has the satisfaction of promoting a good product. But coffee aside, some Nespresso locations(like the one on Madison Avenue) have a café that serves delicious food. The grilled chicken salad with arugula, radicchio, haricots verts(what you call green beans if you want to make people feel like peasants), and candied walnuts is delicious, as is the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. If you leave room for dessert try any of them(the chocolate mousse cake is especially good). The dessert sizes are european, i.e. very, very small, and perfect for indulging without feeling guilty. This would get five stars is smiles were not in such short supply(nonexistent, actually) but in all fairness the service is still courteous and prompt. I gave it three stars originally but then noticed that when the check came, 18% gratuity had been added to the check – even though it listed suggested tip amounts(15%, 18% and 20%). I asked why, and they said it was because we were a large party. There were just three of us, but we weren’t speaking English to each other. A bit of xenophobia, Nespresso? It sucks for you, because I always tip more than 18%. Also, you dropped two more stars to just one. Shame on you.

So dissapointed!!! Had a quick lunch with my friend who ordered a turkey sandwich and a latte. The sandwich was super dry and no lettuce or anything and the latte was the worst! Nespresso can’t even make a decent latte? That’s both hilarious and sad! Never lunch there again

Overcharged my wife and there is no number to the local store to call and rectify it. How can a business operate with out communication. Had to contact corporate and they said they will send«an email». Now we have to dispute via Amex or wife has to find time to get back to store. Not efficient.

I always go this boutique to buy my coffee pots. So far the customer service had been great, but today the guy at the counter was soooo stuck up and rude. Horrible service, specially for being a regular client. I am never going back to this store. I would’ve talked to the manager but I was in a hurry and I was having a nice day so I didn’t want to spoil my day. So disappointed #nesppresso.

What is going on here? This is the flagship Nespresso boutique and it’s DIRTY? The displays were dusty and the restrooms were disgusting. Not acceptable. Our location in Boston is spotless and the location in Macy’s Herald Square is also very clean. My partner and I were not impressed.

This is one my favorite coffee shops ever!!! I have been wanting to go to a Nespresso café the whole time I was living in NYC and I was waiting for the one in SOHO to open up but it never did. Anyways, the coffee drinks here are sooo amazing and out of this world. I got the pistachio ice cream with coffee drink and OHMYGAD, literally heaven in my mouth. We also got dessert and got the pumpkin one since we all love pumpkin and let me tell you nothing can compare to the desserts and coffee here. If you are in NYC and on the upper east side, make sure you stop by here.

I commented as we sat down that in the 1990’s we would have gone to a French café and perhaps a nice French lady would have made our coffee. Today our coffee comes in pods from God knows where and we drink it in a sleek corporate play ground. It’s the new New York. The playground is sleek. The coffees are beautiful(most are around $ 7). My flavor-of-the-month had coconut sprinkled on top of a perfectly tiered white-brown-white white-chocolate latte. My friend and I shared a grilled cheese too($ 17) with tomato soup and mixed greens. That I have to say is where the service came through: the kitchen split the sandwich beautifully and even the soup into little glasses on each plate. I would not say the soup was bold, but then I tend to like my tomato soup with cream. We were unhurried, and the tables and chairs are certainly comfortable and far a part. So much so that we didn’t really feel like we were in New York. And that I guess is the problem with a sleek corporate playground: we could have been anywhere, the airport at Dubai! And that was why we went and will most certainly go again: to say goodbye, for a bit, to all that.

Amazing Service by staff that works here. Went in for questions regarding different types of machines that are available for purchase and they went up and beyond to help me and offer a great service of their drinks as well

The reason for my two stars is because of the customer service our waiter was very rude and snappy I don’t want to throw the race card but he was very mean to me my friend was with me and noticed how he behaved luckily we spoke to the manager and he gave us our meals for free I would go back only because I enjoy their flavor-of-the-month cappuccino also I had a shrimp salad with was okay but I would prefer for the shrimp to be cooked a little better

Split the lobster sandwich and try a machiato and macaron dessert combo. Yeah you get a good coffee, get a spot to sit and get to skip the line for macarons at the nearby Laduree. It seems impossible to find a quick decent place for a coffee and snack on the ues and this fits the bill.

I enjoyed my honey latte while sitting at the bar here very much. I was in the mood for afternoon sophistication after getting my hair done and that’s exactly what I got. Prices seemed very fair given the location and the ambience. The dessert case looked delectable and their savory menu seemed to have a bit of everything on it. Can’t believe it took me so long to try one of these places but well worth the wait. Thank you for a sweet little afternoon delight, Nespresso.

I come here to buy Nespresso capsules and drink FREE espresso. This place is half posh café and half Nespresso machine/pod store. If you’re looking for just a caffeine fix, the Nepresso salespeople are happy to give you a free shot of espresso or cup of coffee to get you hooked. They have an ever increasing selection of capsule flavors and intensities. I love the Nespresso machines. They make damn good espresso with zero effort. It’s hard to go back to coffee once you’ve had this. The aeroccino milk frother is awesome, especially for making iced lattes. I’m now considering getting a manual espresso maker since becoming an espresso snob thanks to Nespresso. I share the opinion of other snobs that the Nespresso tastes over extracted sometimes possible due to no enough espresso grounds in the capsules. But I still value the convenience and variety of the Nespresso capsules.

I have been few times there. Nice place and good service! They have so many opinions for coffee with different flavor. In general it’s the usual nespresso coffee taste. One time I got the coffee with the ice cream that they’re famous for, wasn’t that impressive! Considering the whole experience and the high quality they offer. I still think they’re way over priced. So if you really want a nespresso coffee and don’t mind being completely ripped off this is the place for you. Tip** You could just go to crate and barrel down the street and pretend you want to purchase a nespresso machine — there they will give you a sample for FREE! Lol

Came here on a date with my boyfriend, it’s such a nice little spot in the UES to come for a coffee or latte. We ordered our drinks and were seated at a nice little table near the window. They give you these cute little chocolates with your drink, which is nice, and your drink come out looking amazing, with foam art at the top. It has a very nice vibe to it, and I felt warm and good here, which was surprising since it was extremely loud. Definitely would come back here, or go to the location downtown. I like it! Can be pricey, but it’s definitely worth it!

Good spot to relax if you go on Madison Ave for shopping. The interior is very bright and clean. Recommendation: ice coffee with two scopes of vanilla ice cream $ 8. They also serve sandwiches, tea and other stuff.

I’m not a big coffee drinker, this place is like an upscale version of a Starbucks. Good service and friendly staff. Although I think they might be overstaff as I saw alot of the workers just standing around. My server/hostess was working hard, so no complaints about her. I tried their V-day special which was an esspresso served in a Wafle cup, the part about the drink that I enjoyed the most was finishing the drinks so I can eat the Chocolate dipped Wafle cups.

I’ve been to the Nespresso in Soho as well, and this one is much larger and comfortable. The coffee is pretty consistent and food is alright(I did enjoy the ham quiche). The sales staff/baristas in the back are really knowledgeable and friendly(shout out to Noonan!). So why the 2 star? The host, James, is completely incompetent. He gave away our table away. not once, not twice. but THREETIMES. Really? After the second time, we told him we’ll be at the bar(which is about 3 feet from the host booth)…and somehow he managed to miss us and gave our table away. James claims he looked all over for us, even went outside the store. Oh, really? He was completely unapologetic and practically blamed us for losing our table. This guy is ridiculous. Make sure you stand right at the doorway/booth in front of James if you want to be seated!

I used to love this place, but it has grown and lost a bit of its charm. The menu has expanded and the service has gone downhill. I recently visited and was shocked to have a waiter which completely ignored us once he put down the coffee and rolled his eyes when we asked for milk(which seems perfectly normal in my opinion). What remains the same is the fantastic coffee and chic surroundings. I saw Michelle Williams in there once. Also, heads up– no half and half– only milk(soy/almond/skim/whole)

Wow — talk about turning espresso and coffee into a high-end experience! Nespresso Boutique has it down to a finely-tuned art. Although we didn’t come in to enjoy the café and coffee bar itself, we were here for a different reason: to re-stock our never-ending need for more Nespresso pods while avoiding the online shipping charges. Since we were in NYC, what could be more convenient? Yes, the tax in NYC might seem high, but at least at the boutique, they treat you like a VIP customer, and turn the cult of Nespresso-ing into a delightful time. The set-up towards the back of the store with all of the merchandise is so beautifully laid-out, and there are always ample staff to assist you in finding the right coffee/espresso for you, and to ring up your purchases. Not sure if you like the purple pod or the orange pod? Coffee or espresso? Lungo or regular? With cream or without? Want a milk frother? There is a really nice coffee station located smack in the middle of the merchandise boutique to help address any quandary you may have. Since the Nespresso club isn’t the cheapest hobby, you may as well be sure that that pretty colored foil pod sleeve you’re purchasing is the right one! You do have to admit that Nespresso has done a great job turning an otherwise gimmicky product into quite the high-brow experience, and a tasty one at that. Although it’s a bummer to have to order the pods online if you’re not local to NYC, at least, as a visitor(or a local), you can get your fill(pun intended) of Nespresso’s tasty coffee concoctions in a lovely and fun and high-energy environment. I totally dig the colorful walls full of pods and sleeves, in beautiful color coordination, and the tasteful décor and staff uniforms, plus the super-helpful baristas who guide you in the right direction. As others have said, it is pricey, but there seems to be a high-end and chic aspect to many hobbies and food/drink preferences, and Nespresso has that market cornered. They’re clearly not hurting for business!
