We are so happy 5 Napkin burger has set up shop on the Upper East Side. Great for kids, families and everyone in between. Go for the veggie burger and blueberry lemonade. Staff is always nice, friendly and very accommodating.

I usually go to the location at 14 st. Food is always delicious no complaints. Fries were very salty, cheeseburger tasted off, had a bad taste. I told my waiter and he said he would speak to the manger. When he came back he said nothing and the manger never bothered to come over. I wil not be going back again. I only ate 2 bites of my burger. Waste of my money to not be ableto eat my meal. Also, they had meat hooks with each light bulb. Was weird and just made me think of a horror movie. I do not recommend this place. No one bothered to make sure my meal was good.

Seriously the best! Their happy hour is great. I prefer the veggie burgers with wings and their salmon hand rolls. All the food is always fresh and I’ve never had a bad experience for all the times I’ve been coming here! Their matzo ball soup is also delicious. Strongly suggest this place

I ordered the turkey burger and it was HUGE. The meat was cooked properly, but the sauce was dripping all over. The burger didn’t have much flavor at all. The cookies and cream shake was a little too sweet for my taste and kept getting stuck in the straw, but was decent. The sweet potato fries were my favorite part of the meal — I’d honestly just return for the fries.

Pretty decent burger place. Not organic and serving is huge. Will definitely make you feel full. But taste is just ok.

Caught in the rain at Summer Stage, a few friends and I ventured over to 2nd Avenue in search of refuge. Since 5 Napkin Burger was the closest casual restaurant to where we were, we ducked inside and spent several hours over a round of drinks and a few appetizers while we waited it out. Although the drinks were tasty, they were light on alcohol, and the food was overly salted. Furthermore, the atmosphere was reminiscent of suburbia, which was depressing. But it saved us from the rain.

They’re not always on par yet I keep coming here because for what it offers its ok. Sometimes medium rare becomes medium well despite what we request. The burger meat is seasoned well. I haven’t really fallen into a favorite on the burger menu. I think the best would be a simple burger. Option number two cheeseburger seems to fit that bill the best. The avocado ranch was decent and the Korean option was ok but I think overall I don’t like it when there is too much Jazz on my burger. I got ribs once. The bbq sauce(sticky rum) that comes with that is good. They really skimp on the fries. They used to come with burgers and now they’re extra. I think I got a kids meal equivalent last time I ate there. The sweet potato have more life to them although both taste fine to me. The steak is kind of sadly cooked. The Rosemary butter is good but the cut of meat I got was not medium rare as requested. They seem to be afraid of rare. Not consistent but good when it’s done well.

I have been to other 5 Napkin locations, but since it just opened up near me on the UES I decided to try it out last night. The restaurant is extremely clean and nice. The bar is really awesome — I’m hoping to stop by soon just for a drink. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive, which we noticed right off the bat. We got the sweet and spicy wings as an app, and they were delicious! The burgers are huge and fresh — hopefully you go hungry! We each got a side of fries and they were salty and delicious. Really no complaints.

Came to 5 Napkin Burger on Friday night at 10pm. Place was pretty dead. Not great atmosphere, lights are very bright. Took a very long time to get order and drinks. My date’s meal was not cooked right. I had the original burger and it was quite good. May or may not be back, not sure.

Service is good, food was good, space is nice, happy hour special is great. Our waitress was super nice and helpful. They must be understaffed though because it seemed like she was the only waitress around and spread kind of thin. She was still helpful and fairly attentive. The food was pretty good. The buffalo cauliflower was AMAZING. I would go back just for that. Plus, for happy hour the wine was $ 5 and that was awesome(beer is $ 4, sliders are $ 2 and they have veggie sliders too). My burger(the classic namesake one) was really good. It was also so large that I saved half of it for later. The cheese and rosemary aoli are great with the caramelized onions. I didn’t even need to add ketchup, which is rare for me. Also great spot for vegetarians– they have a great veggie burger, it’s homemade and not that frozen store bought crap! It’s really good, but I suggest asking for it in the normal potato bun. I didn’t love the tater tots appetizer, and will stick to their delicious onion rings from now on. Overall a good spot and will definitely be in my rotation when I am craving a burger.

With a plethora of burger chains to choose from, 5 Napkin surprised me. The menu is a little weird… offering burgers obviously, but also sushi. I don’t quite understand the concept, and I didn’t order the sushi. What I did order was the Asiago Turkey burger and it was great. Big flavors, with the asiago cheese, cherry pepper relish and pesto mayo were fantastic together. Really good fries topped off the meal. I will definitely be back to try their beef burgers and even their salads which looked delicious. Don’t think I’ll try the sushi tho. Still scratching my head on that one.

For happy hour, this place is as good as it gets. $ 2 sliders, $ 2 sushi handrolls, and drink specials. I am so glad this place opened up in my neighborhood! The restaurant is clean and looks like any old chain, but the deals are just out of this world. This will definitely be my new happy hour place in the neighborhood.

I went here after a long day at work hoping to have an awesome burger. However for the price I wasn’t sold. I ordered the turkey burger and French fries. I have to admit the fries were delicious. However my burger was just OK. I can’t say that I see myself coming here again.

My suggestion to this company, is to invest little more on human resources. twice a week I treat my self with a burger, I could eat on my place but I prefer to take a little walk! This time the poor hostess was try to please every one, from the delivery Desk, Reservation desk, seating people, guest calling in invisible waitress, at one point the poor girl was also having a verbal fight in a kitchen where, from my point view I could see and hear every thing . Result? My burger was well done, cold, without the onion I request, with the cheese I didn’t want, the pickles that I hate and the bun mushy Once I sent back, the result was little better, but no onion again, and poorly prepared. So I took the whole thing, back home, and reassemble just in the way I like. Next time I stay home…

How good of a burger was this? I’d say 3⁄5 for the 5 napkin burger. I’m pretty disappointed in the missing toppings: tomatoes, lettuce, pickles. Come on, can’t really make it «5 napkin» without those. That being said, this is a big, beefy, meaty burger with very tasty cheese. Both the regular and sweet potato fries are amazing. Great beer selection.

I’m really puzzled as to why this place is so poorly reviewed. I’m assuming they were working out the way it was managed within the first few months– I think it’s great now! We came here on a Sunday afternoon and ordered off of the brunch menu. The place itself looks new, similar to The Smith in décor, casual and comfy, yet modern, nice and clean. Our server, Leslie, was extremely pleasant and informative. I ordered the turkey burger, and my fiancé ordered the 5 napkins burger, both paired with sweet potato fries. I enjoyed my burger, and thought the fries were fresh(, per restaurant claims, are homemade) and proportionally healthy. The pesto dressing was delicious on my turkey burger, and the arugula and tomato were fresh. The bun seemed generic, only thing I’d swap, but good. My fiancé really enjoyed his burger, and said he was full but not stuffed(a good thing) which was my feeling as well. Overall, good place with fresh food. Their drink menu looks quite extensive, which intrigues me –Will return !

Decent place to grab a burger. Menu is a bit bizarre, in that they offer burgers, tacos, sushi and a take on Chinese stir fry — just seems a little disjointed. The burgers are perfectly good, but I think the JG Melon burgers(only a few blocks away) are far superior and also cheaper. The french fries are good. Skip the onion rings.

I am interested in going again and trying the burgers and shakes. I visited there this evening, the hostess was very nice and accommodating and we were seated promptly without a reservation. I would like to go back though, the other entrees looked scrumptious, and so did the shakes and dessert.

I’ve been excited to try this new spot and 5 Napkin Burger out in general as I’ve heard great things about it. I was impressed by the décor and atmosphere of the restaurant upon first entering. It was really bright and spacious. We were enthusiastically greeted by our fantastic server AJ when we sat down. That’s where all the good parts end. There were 3 of us; I ordered an Avocado ranch burger cooked medium, my coworker ordered the same burger medium well and my other coworker ordered his 5 napkin burger medium well. When our orders arrived, my burger was well done. Once my coworker bit into her burger we realized that they had switched our burgers. No big deal. My other coworker’s burger was well done and really dry, not medium well as he requested. Not what you want to get when paying $ 20 for a burger. My coworker didn’t fuss about his burger and ate the majority of it despite not being pleased with it. I thought it was important to make sure that they were aware that their burgers were not prepared correctly so I informed AJ about the dryness after the bus boy had already cleared our plates. Because she didn’t get to see the burger she said she couldn’t do anything about it. She did offer us another burger but we didn’t feel that was necessary. When it came time for payment, we informed AJ that we each had the app so we inquired about a $ 5 coupon that comes with the first order. She said she could put to coupon through but we’ll just have to process the payment through the app. This process seemed confusing and the staff seemed a bit unsure about how to work that system. After a few minutes we were told that everything went through. Half an hour after we left, I received an email from the restaurant saying that the payment wasn’t made and so they processed the card on file in the app for the payment. I should had realized that the app payment didn’t go though when I didn’t have the option to write in a tip anywhere. But in the midst of all our confusion with our order, I seemed to have overlooked that. The payment that they processed included an arbitrarily selected tip amount that I did not agree to. The tip was 20% which is the amount that I typically leave and was planning on leaving so I have no problem with that but I have concerns that the tip amount was determined without my approval. For burgers that cost at least $ 15 and upwards of $ 20, I expect better quality burgers and for a seamless dining experience. I’m sure many of the hiccups are a result of them being 3 weeks new. My 1 star goes to AJ who despite dealing with the missteps with us, handled everything with professionalism and grace. Not sure if I’ll be stepping back in here any time soon though; this place has some kinks to work out.

I was very excited for this location to open ! I always wanted to try 5 Napkin. The location is on a corner and will be busy once the Second Avenue Subway opens ! The store looks well decorated and cozy. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. I ordered the 5 Napkin Burger, which comes with a side of French fries, and I also ordered their Onion Rings. The burger was cooked to perfection and very juicy. The onion rings were delicious and a must try.
