If you want overpriced, poor food and service for breakfast, Trend is for you! This place made me yearn for EJ’s Luncheonette and I’m no fan of EJ’s either. Cheap ingredients, badly cooked food and watered down cheap coffee. Yuck! Off to Starbucks now.

Everything I’ve ordered here has been delicious. Tuna and Chicken salad sandwich are my favs. Friendly, prompt service always… Consistent just like the food. If you’re in a hurry and you want good food, you can rely on Trend to get you in and out with a full belly at a fair price. Thumbs up Trend!

These five stars are for my waiter Saul… This is the ultimate waiter… As you all know from my previous postings, it’s no easy task to «fake the funk» so to speak. I’ve dined out many times but this is the first time I’ve come across someone that’s genuine, nice and Great energy. The funny part is minimum words were exchanged.(I pick up on people energy). If I was a waiter/waitress Saul would be the person to take notes from — give the people what they want & need(without all fuss) and allow them to eat. SIMPLICITY… Something tells me he has many Blessings ahead of him. The food was good but the french toast needs tweaking… those are my favorite so of course I would be more critical on it. Good food, GREAT service = a Great Experience. Thank Saul, simply the BEST!!! ;)

I felt I needed to write a follow-up to my review as I went again this weekend. I was so disappointed by the service, again. We came in for breakfast on Memorial Day and the waitress was extremely rude and seemed like she didn’t want to be there. She then got both of our orders wrong — and although we’re not the types to send food back, it was so wrong that we didn’t really have a choice. When we nicely told her it wasn’t what we ordered, she rolled her eyes and took the food back. Since then, we didn’t see her. Another waiter brought our food(more pleasant) and the bus boy attended to us since then(was also very pleasant). It seems like when the owners aren’t around, the waitstaff is absolutely miserable and is giving the diner a bad rep. No one wants to come to a diner for breakfast and be served by a waiter/waitress who looks like they’re miserable being there. The food was good. But there are so many diners in the area with comparable food and much better service.

I heard about this place by two of my friends. I really liked the service and the food was great as well. I would definitely come back.

This is a five star diner. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by our waitress, Jenn, and immediately shown to our seats. The space itself is very modern looking, and while I love an old-fashioned looking diner, it was definitely clean and still aesthetically pleasing. I had a craving for a good, old-fashioned cheeseburger. I ordered their classic steak burger with cheddar, and my husband got a burger with Portabella mushroom and onions. Both burgers were large, cooked as ordered, and presented nicely with lettuce, tomato, and pickle. They didn’t try to mess with a classic. There is an option to upgrade your burger to a deluxe, which adds fries, but we opted for one of their specialty french fries plates. We got the fries with three different types of cheeses, and they were fantastic. The waitress checked on us frequently, keeping our water glasses full, and adding friendly commentary to our meal. My husband commented that this is actually the best service he can remember since us moving to New York. While most diners are interchangeable, I would say that Trend diner is a step above the rest in cleanliness, service, and food quality. We will definitely be back! On top of it all, the prices are good — we ate dinner for $ 30. Summary: Great service, above average diner food, and good prices. A triple whammy!

Had coffee and chocolate chip pancakes which were very filling. Staff was great about refilling my water and coffee and the ambience of the dinner was exactly what I was looking for. Excellent food and good prices.

I work across the street from Trend and go here a couple times a week. Pricy for the quality, but in general good food!

This diner is much better than the diner that’s a few blocks nearby. I won’t name the place. The décor here is very nice — it has a nice brick, post-industrial look. The seating is decent. The food choices were not that bad. I went on a Sunday morning for brunch. I had the grandma ultimate lumberjack, which was simply pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon and your choice of beverages. I am a little disappointed that they don’t give refills of orange juice. If you wanted more coffee or tea, they do happily oblige and give you more. I wouldn’t mind coming here again next time after a running race in Central Park.

I’ve been ordering from Trend for awhile now, every time I order I remember why it had been so long since I placed my last order. Every time I’ve placed a delivery order they forget something, no exaggeration every single time. Also, they charge you a container fee of $.45 for each container/per item you order which I’ve not seen been before. This is on top of their already over priced items. It’s a shame because the food here is actually good and they have a good menu which is why it’s hard to stop ordering all together.

Normally I wouldn’t bother posting a review immediately after I leave a restaurant, but I wanted to get this down. I was in here early-ish on a Tuesday(7/7:30). While switching between eating my food and watching the news, I watched Niko(I overheard another customer say hello to him), who was otherwise very nice, preparing a coffee with foam on top.(I don’t know what kind of fancy coffee… I am not fancy!) He spooned some foam into the coffee, ate the extra foam off the spoon, and then used that same spoon to smooth out the foam that was on top of the coffee. For a moment, I thought maybe he was preparing the coffee for himself(who would be so brazen to do this out in the open, at the counter?!?), but then he packed it up for delivery. It’s a shame because this was otherwise a fantastic/delicious diner experience and I would have liked to add this place to my short list of go-to diners. But unless you want to swap spit with Niko, I can’t recommend you go here.

Excellent service here. It’s more of an upscale diner based on the décor, which is I guess«trendier.» When I came for brunch, it was quite busy and we had about a 15 minute wait. The space itself isn’t huge but they’ve packed in a lot of seating. In terms of the food, we for the Granny’s ultimate breakfast as well as eggs with beef hash. Both were very well executed. The sunny side up eggs were done right and the beef hash had great flavor. The potato and toast were decent. Granny’s breakfast included sausage, French toast, and bacon. This was overall asp a good dish, but very standard. With the brunch prix fixe, you get an entrée with a drink, whether coffee, juice, or other. But if you’re getting a coffee only with your meal, it’s actually cheaper to order from the breakfast menu. Overall, this is your standard diner food, prepared well. Service is good.

The food was good and the Mexican omelet I ordered was delicious andcame out in a reasonable time. The problem started when the waiter here harassed me trying to get my number and«when we will see each other later». I was thinking about reporting him to the manager but never coming back here.

I’ve been here twice in two weeks and both times were good. The $ 18.95 brunch is a great deal– it came with a fruit cup, coffee/tea, a bloody mary, and an entrée. I had a fritatta and it was really good– cooked well and not greasy. And our waitress was amazing– she was hilarious and very friendly. I also came for dinner the other night and had a turkey burger with caramelized onions and Swiss, and a baked potato. Both were very good. I see people writing that the workers were rude or the food was bad. The service here was fine– it’s a busy diner– sometimes they are going to take more than one minute to tend to your every need. And the food was what you expect from a diner– it was good and not greasy, but not a five star meal. Don’t go to a diner if you want a fine dining experience– come on now people. The thing I liked the best about this place is it that it’s VERY clean. I don’t think it’s too old, and you can tell that they keep the place very neat and the cleanliness level is high. Overall, this place is great for a quick and reasonably priced meal in the Upper East Side. I’ll definitely be back.

We ordered delivery(online) because we were too tired to move on our last night in NYC, I called just to make sure they got our order right and the guy who picked up was super nice and attentive. The food came super fast and they didn’t charge extra for the bread and butter which I ordered on the side, the food was pretty decent, we each ordered a tomato and chicken noodle soup. My order(the tomato soup) was a bit too salty for me.

I took refuge here for about an hour between appointments at one of the medical centers nearby. Dealing with the medical system in this country generally sucks and I kind of just needed someone to be nice to me and serve me hot tea for a while, and the guys at Trend Diner fit the bill perfectly. They were attentive and kept offering me more hot water for my tea, which was really sweet. The breakfast I had was a notch below standard diner breakfast: the sausage was a little undercooked and so were the eggs, although maybe that was my fault for ordering over easy. I like them runny, but these felt… raw. On the other hand my breakfast came to like $ 7, which is pretty rad for Manhattan, and they were nice to me and it was warm in there. I’ll just order my eggs a different way next time.

Stopped in here late last night to grab some food with my vegan sister. Everything we ordered was delicious! Food was very fresh, lots of it was even organic(rare in a diner). Chris, our server, was excellent, accommodating, friendly, and on top of things(napkins waters sauces etc). The place itself was nice and clean, casual and comfy atmosphere with a brick wall and a bar/counter to sit at along with booths and some tables for two. Nyc doesn’t have enough 24⁄7 diners anymore, and I’m glad we came across this one. I wish I lived closer, I’d probably order delivery a few times a week Oh and the rice pudding(house made) was delicious. I’ll be back for that alone

Trend Diner has great no frills diner food. I came in for a late brunch and got eggs Benedict with home fries. The eggs were juuuust overdone but still delicious. Home fries are solid, but I’m a sucker for places that put bits of bell peppers or onions in there, Trend’s is very basic. Their challah french toast is delicious. Bacon is not overly crispy– you get those nice pockets of fat. The biggest surprises were their bloody mary’s– they don’t use a mix. Never expected to have such a good bloody at a diner. The space is really narrow. We sat at this crazy center table with only a narrow walkway separating us from booths on either side. Waiters would come bearing towers plates of steaming food over our heads, delivery guys, patrons, all rushing past. If you’re claustrophobic or need to spread out, this probably isn’t the place for you. If you don’t specify you’re having brunch they won’t give you brunch prices, regardless of what you order. In our case the difference only ended up being $ 1 so we didn’t care enough to say anything.

Yeiiiii awesome diner in the UES! I’m so excited to have found this gem. It amazes me that a place can have so many offerings on their menu and still do such a great job at everything they serve. I absolutely loved the service. Very attentive staff that were friendly, communicative, funny and just obviously great individuals. I will definitely be back, order from here, and stop by whenever I can! I had the banana, nutella pancakes — so very very good. There were 3 of them; which was way too much food for me, but so absolutely delicious. I was only able to eat one and a half, but took the rest home. Still so yummy when I had them the next day. When we paid, the manager/owner(?) came by to talk to us and offered us some fresh cookies. Yum! Such good customer service never goes unnoticed! Thank you so much for your hospitality! :)

For less than $ 20, I got a ton of food for brunch-3 pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, coffee, and a mimosa. Everything tasted delicious, and the service was great. I also like the modern atmosphere of the restaurant. If you’re in Upper East Side during brunch time, it’s a must-go-to!
