Dr. Larry Shemen is a wonderful physician /surgeon! He has been a fantastic Doctor to me and my relatives for many years. He has an office in Manhattan and Queens. So very easy to get to. He is caring and very professional. Highly recommend Dr. Shemen to anyone looking for a physician who has 30+ years experience!

This doctor is incredibly unkind. He may have knowledge– who knows. He made me feel like I was bothering him when I asked him questions, as if I was irritating him. Won’t be going back. I Doctors should treat their patients with respect.

Dr. Shemen mis-diagnosed what turned out to be a large polyp on my vocal cord. First, he claimed it was an acid-reflux problem. Then he said I had a «node»(nodule), but when I asked him specifically whether it was a node or a polyp, he reiterated«a node.» Having done my research, and knowing that nodes are bilateral and polyps are only on one side, I shook my head in confusion. After spending weeks in voice therapy, I had a stroboscopy which showed a large polyp. I immediately sought a vocal cord specialist at NY Presbyterian Hospital who was wonderful(Dr. Lucien Sulica) and who just operated on me to remove the polyp. I’m thinking about suing Shemen for malpractice. In addition, he is rude and has terrible bedside manner. He got pissed off when I asked questions, as if I was challenging his authority. His attitude towards his patients is reprehensible.
