I don’t think the service here was good at all. No greeting, no asking if my friends and I needed help or a dressing room. Nothing until the end when a woman walks up to us and basically asks if we’re done and then marches us over to the registers. On the other hand, she was good about giving us student discounts and applying the store discount.

Oh wow, it’s been SOOOO long since I’ve stepped foot in a J Crew. I was out the other night browsing for what’s new and noteworthy for fall and winter and decided to pop in for a quick scan. I was really excited to stop by, because I remember it looking so bright and cheery over the summer and packed with fun clothes(through the window). But like a light switch flipped, I found it to be slim pickens and everything turned to dark — and whoa a sweatshirt for $ 90? I admit it was super cute, but I hope they get more product in soon. I was just so surprised at how sparse the women’s selection appeared. I admit I’ve never been to this particular location before, so maybe it’s never been that big. Did I miss something? BTW, I was perfectly satisfied with the customer service. I was left to browse through once, and then a guy who was folding greeted me to let me know he was available to assist with anything. I liked that he wasn’t pushy and let me browse — even if my browsing adventure wasn’t as long as I would have liked. I look forward to coming back to see if they get anything else in. I’m a fan of J Crew, but is it possible maybe it’s just me and my style has changed? Hmmm…

I’m with Albert and Heidi. I’ve been here once when the service was great. Service with a smile. Today, I walked in the moment it opened and needed to return one dress. Without a smile on her face and barely any eye contact, the employee asked what I needed. After explaining that I just wanted to do a return, she took the dress and started the process. When asked to swipe my card I asked her which one I used as indicated on the receipt. She told me it didn’t show up, so I must have used a gift card. I told her I have never had a gift card to J. Crew to which she gave me a shoulder shrug and said, «Well, I don’t know then.» Leaving me with no other choice but to guess myself and swiping what I thought was the correct card, it went through. I waited for an apology or an «Oops, guess I was wrong.» Nope, she handed me the receipt and barely a mumbled thank you. The look of annoyance, the condescending demeanor, and the rude attitude left a bad taste in my mouth. NEVER shopping at this location again. Management, take a look at who was working on 4÷28÷13 in the morning and consider some customer service professional development.

I’ve stopped by this location with my boyfriend a handful of times and haven’t had an issue with any of my experiences. J. Crew tends to be more of a hit or miss for me. Also, I find it to be a bit too pricey for my tastes. My boyfriend, however, can usually find some nice things to buy here. Honestly, I prefer the outlet location in Pleasant Prairie because it’s cheaper and the quality is just as good.

I agree with Albert — the service at this location is abysmal. The staff at North Avenue and Deer Park put the Northbrook Court location to shame. I walked in yesterday wanting to purchase a few new items for fall and did not even receive a glance from one of the salespeople, let alone a «how may I help you?». I look more like a twenty year old than the thirty year old that I actually am — the salespeople seemed to be ignoring me like any other teenybopper roaming the mall. Take a cue from Nordstrom, and treat all of your customers with respect and care!

I found a top I loved on sale at another J. Crew store and was calling around to find more. On my 3rd call, I was lucky enough to talk to Michael at Northbrook Court. He was SO helpful and friendly. He was truly remarkable! He did all the searching and located exactly was I was looking for from several other stores. I will call him first next time I need anything from J.Crew. Thank you Michael!

J. Crew itself is one of my favorite places to shop, but this store doesn’t live up to J. Crew’s standards of customer service. Go anywhere else, J. Crew Old Orchard, Oak Brook or 900 Michigan and you get excellent service with a smile. But come to this place and you get«aggressive» service, blank stares and service bordering on surly. The only reason anyone comes up to you is so you’ll give them the«sales credit» at the end of the sale. And the clumsy and unrefined cashiers have a permanent frown on their faces and don’t even say«thank you.» Ironically, I had to thank them for the«privilege» of shopping at their store. This store is a true anomaly to the J. Crew chain of stores. I would suggest it be studied by a student of management for perhaps, how a store can survive long-term while actively alienating its core customers.

Super great service, although I was only trying on suits and it was a Monday evening — not exactly a busy time. Any j. crew will tailor your suit for free, but I wouldn’t trust anything more complicated than raising the hem line, which they did well here. Even though this was a large store, there were not enough basics. They are forgiven for this and awarded five stars for being a store at which you could actually find and purchase the $ 600 cashmere limited edition coats they have(not that I ever would).
