I would NOT recommend this hotel. My sister specifically booked this hotel because she was told on three separate occasions that she could host my niece’s 6th birthday gathering in the back portion of the lobby. This was actually recommended to her. There’s also a pool and was excited for the children to be able to swim. After checking in, Scott was great, but, was misinformed by his management team as to what the policies for using the lobby space and pool were. We were asked to have all of the children leave the pool who were not staying at the hotel, that we were not suppose to use the lobby for a party and the front desk needed to register all of the children that were using the pool. I spoke with the Front Desk Manager, Nellie Da Rosa-Tuphanilall who was not apologetic, very abrasive and took no responsibility for her staff not being on the same page and giving guests different information regarding policies. She was very combative and cut me off on numerous occasions. I feel bad for the staff here because if Nellie is the person leading them, they will fail and not be supported in the way they should in order to deliver customer service. I was not treated with respect or like I was paying to stay at this hotel. A letter will be sent to corporate detailing this situation. Thank you Scott and the staff that was helpful and courteous to us and trying to handle the situation the best way they saw fit.

I feel like I have to provide a counterpoint to a 1-star review of this Residence Inn that I read with dismay when we were already on our way to New Bedford. My experience was completely different. In my opinion this Residence Inn was exceptionally clean, the front desk clerk was very friendly, and the staff at breakfast were totally polite. Our 1br suite was fantastic for our family; I love to have a door between me and our little ones. I’m also a Marriott Platinum member and I have a pretty good idea of what to expect. The only complaint I could make was about the powdered eggs, which were pretty cold.(And powdered, but that’s what you get at most Residence Inn free breakfasts.

2014 into 2015, I would post the same reviews as the other 3 from 2013. Breakfast service is shameful. Iron and ironing boards need to be replaced also. Front desk staff and maids were nice.
