Sandwich Box

A great little sand which place tucked away on Colley. When we arrived around 2 on a Monday the place was dead (not surprisingly) and there was only one worker.
I ordered the Cajun Chicken Salad and my boyfriend got the 21^st Smokie. He quickly put our sandwiches together and had them wrapped up in no time. They were delicious! We also got pickles and chips!

Delicious Food! Great old timely atmosphere. Service was amazing. One of the best neighborhood sandwich shops I’ve ever had.

Excellent food and very friendly service. They have a great variety and lots of vegetarian options. I only wish they were open later in the day.

This restaurant is quite good, with an informal, hole-​in-​the-​wall atmosphere. The sandwiches are delicious, (try their Reuben, it’s really good), the people behind the counter are friendly, and it isn’t too busy, from what I’ve seen. The only problem is, they have very limited hours, and are only open a few days of the week. But overall, the Sandwich Box has definitely earned this 4-​star rating.

Amazing. Found this gem on Unilocal and loved the Turkey Rueben. Told the gang at work today and also found out how awesome and easy it is for a group to order online thru Order Up. Everyone loves their food, delivered perfection.

Had a double stack. Best deli sandwich I’ve had in a while. Great attention to detail by the staff. Looking forward to coming back.

We got some Sandwich box to go today. The boyfriend got the corned beef and pastrami on rye. After eating half, he stated, «I want to keep eating but I’m full. The sandwiches seemed a little pricey from the menu, but when I got mine I understood why: layer upon layer upon LAYER of meat on both sandwiches. I kid you not, these things are thicker than a burger. The flavor sin each sandwich were great, but unique. They serve each sandwich with a pickle spear and Utz chips, which are a lower sodium chip! This was my first but definitely not my last time.

Great sandwiches piled high with quality meats, cheese, salads (ie. Chivken, egg, tuna). Try to get in to carry out at leadt onve a week if not 2 or 4 times! It is great having a real hood deli sandeich shop on the west side.

The food was okay and the owner is straight up RUDE. The bread was really stale the first time, but I gave it a second go. I ordered online and my sandwich still came to me wrong. The third time it was REALLY wrong so I called the store. I barely got the words out (and I was speaking in a friendly tone) when the guy starts griping at me about how EVERYONE IS HUMAN and WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES. True, but, would you mind making me a new sandwich? Just a simple, replacement (no apologies needed) would have sufficed. I didn’t expect to find myself apologizing to HIM for calling just so I could stop his tirade. No food, no matter how delicious, is worth that kind of treatment. He sent a replacement which matched the menu, but not how I’d ordered it online. That’s all the chances I can give.

Best sandwich I have had in some time. I have now been there twice and I will be going back. The sandwiches are full of meat and are great. They cut your meat after you order you sandwich.
I also purchased a cookie. I bought the oatmeal sandwich cookie. Wow Delicious! Cookie was soft and the cream in the middle was just enough and not overly sweet.

I live around the corner from here so I really want to like it but I just don’t. The bread is always dry (and definitely not fresh-​tasting), the sauces are either non-​existent or not enough (and none appear to be homemade but I could be wrong). The panini that my friend got was just toasted bread with cold ingredients inside. I also don’t like the small bag of plain chips that come with each sandwich — if I have a bag of plain chips, I am certainly not going to spend extra money to buy any of the better chips that are available. I’ve gotten a breakfast sandwich, too which was also so-​so: eggs were microwaved, bagel was plain and dry, etc.
Two stars because the meats and cheeses are very tasty and the sandwich options are very creative. Nothing tastes bad, but I have not really had a tasty sandwich here, either.

Not impressed. Sent my husband to get sandwiches and thought we would try a new place. I was craving Horseradish so I got the Honey Turkey Cheddar Horseradish. He got home and there was not one little tiny taste of Horseradish on it. He got an italian and said there was nothing really that good about it. We will definitely not be back!

I stopped in for lunch today with my boyfriend. I got the fig and goat cheese panini and my boyfriend got a salami and hot pepper sandwich on ciabatta. Every sandwich comes with a bag of chips and a pickle. Our sandwiches were good and the staff was extremely friendly. We also got an orange cream soda and a cream soda. We enjoyed our food so much that we ordered two more sandwiches to go! I’m not sure what my bf ordered, but I got the apple, brie and apricot panini. I enjoyed it, but I preferred my first choice. He liked his as well. We will definitely be returning!!! Very happy we tried it :)

I got the smoke Liverwurst and my husband got a ham sandwich. Both were interesting and delicious. The décor and vibe was great and the customer service was also great. Definitely be back here again. Looks like the breakfast menu is awesome too!!!

I’m not a sandwich person but I must admit that the quality of their deli meat was delicious. This beats Jimmy Johns.

Just visited this place for the first time today and I can’t wait to come back and try everything else. The sandwiches are creative and just the right portions. The casual atmosphere is amazing!

On my third visit, and I’m so happy this place is open! Great sandwiches, really friendly employees, and an attentive owner. The lunch meats are carved to order, and the toppings are fresh. It’s become a regular lunch spot for my family.

This is a great local deli! A gem of a spot located further down Colley from the bulk of the restaurants, bars and shops. It is right next to EVMS.
This deli looks great. It has a cool vibe. The walls are covered with interesting black and white photos of Ghent and Downtown through out the decades.
The menu is impressive. There is definitely something for everyone. The sandwiches are made to order. The meats and cheeses are cut fresh when you order the sandwich. The toppings are then added to order.
The cappicola salami sub with hot peppers and cheese was excellent. The prosciutto and provolone sandwich was equally delightful.
The service was fantastic! Friendly and inviting. All the staff made sure our experience at the Sandwich Box was a pleasant one.
One surprise was when my wife and I ordered our sandwiches, they offered our two boys sandwiches from the 4 inch pieces of sub bread left over for free. Much appreciated!
