I recently stopped here for lunch with a couple of friends. They ordered subs, I selected the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. I wish I had ordered the sub. The problem with this wrap was that so much mayo and blue cheese was put on the thing that it killed the Buffalo Sauce zing and by the time I got half way through it the thing it was just a soaking wet sloppy mess that was falling apart.

They have the best subs ever. I normally don’t eat subs for lunch, but their cold subs are incredible. I’ve tried all of them except for the tuna.

I ordered the #44, a buffalo sub. My girlfriend ordered the Reuben pastrami. The buffalo sub was not the buffalo sub that I ordered. It tasted more like a bad Philly Cheesesteak. The Reuben was subpar. The bread on both sandwiches were dry. We will not be going back.

Went for the coupon, won’t come back for the price. It was $ 8 for a veggie sub. Are you freakin’ kiddin’ me with this? The sub ain’t even a foot long and it’s 8 bucks for some limp vegetables and cheese on hard white bread. If I didn’t have the coupon for a free drink and chips, my total would have been over $ 10.50 and for a mediocre sub at that. The guy at the counter creatively worked with me to get the«served cold» veggie sub hot off the grill(they have no toaster) and cheese melted, which was very nice of him and appreciated. Who serves a COLD veggie sub? Where they do that at… oh, Jersey Mike’s. Also, completely agree with another post on here that JM’s pre-calculated tip screen on the credit card machine is completely presumptuous. I worked in the food service industry for several years as a waiter, host, cook and dish dog. I know my way around serving people and this tipping nonsense for people who DONOT wait on you and simply hand you food, beverages or whatever from behind the counter(which took minimal effort) is ridiculous and out of control. I do not leave tips unless I get WAITEDON. Employees of JM are paid slightly above minimum wage as opposed to actual food SERVICE waiters who get paid WELL below minimum wage… hence the point in leaving a tip. Won’t be back to JM anytime soon, unless my coupon is for a completely free sub.

I agree with another comments – definitely some of the best subs around Hampton Roads. It’s a shame there is not a location in Newport News. I get the philly cheesesteak almost everytime I go, and it is fantastic. Such a big cheesesteak for the price. The quality and service has always been great. The other day, a worker even let me place my order over the phone with my card information since I did not have it on me. I was able to pick it up and enjoy!

Best subs around Hampton Roads and also the pricest but you get what you pay for and its certainly worth the difference. The ingredients including the bread are far superior to subway and they have Pepsi! Yay! Approx 1 year later: This place continues to be excellent. Consistently good and a great staff. I’m always satisfied here.

They are unsanitary! They wear gloves but shake hands with college buddies and go right back making sandwiches! They then dip there hands into the salad and tomatoes without changing gloves. I complained to the manager but was sickened by what I noticed! Also the manger refused to have the employee change gloves as the offender went on to make more sandwiches for other people as I watched and continued to complain. I would try an alternate location as they may care more about the subs then fist bumping each other or school buddies!

Jersey Mike’s is my favorite sandwich shop, bar none. The ingredients taste fresh, though I really wish they’d stop running out of wheat bread! I always get a turkey and provolone, because I’m pretty picky, but my husband has gotten half the things on the menu and he’s always satisfied. I recently moved to Utah, and I wish they’d open a franchise here! I’d be in at least twice a week. :) And there’s a Tropical Smoothie you can walk a block down the road to get to, so you can have a delicious smoothie with your sub! Heaven.

What an underwhelming sandwich. As I sat and gnawed away on my #8(the bread must’ve been old) I looked around and tried to figure out what it was that was supposed to set this buisness apart from other sandwich shops. The only thing I could find was a short list of things that make Jersey Mike’s sandwiches«authentic». It was glued to the side of our napkin dispenser. This place left such an «impression» on me that I decided to look up some information on Jersey Mike’s after I got home changed all my clothes, and tied my hair back. I absolutely reeked of onion and… sandwich shop? Fyi… I hate onions; there were none on my sandwich. Anyway, every business has a model, right… I wanted to know what it was that kept this place in business. Before I did my search, I was certain this location’s success was greatly due to getting all of Moe’s Southwest Grill’s overflow from next door. That place was slammed where as Jersey Mike’s was practically empty. According to my search results, Jersey Mike’s is supposed to have a good philly cheese steak sandwich. I would never have known that just by walking in and looking at their simplistic menu. My husband chose the reuben… his commentary on his lunch? «Meh… it’ll make a turd.» Either way, philly cheese steaks aren’t my thing so one thing’s for sure: I won’t be coming back here. I hate to say it, but Subway crushes this place. Side note… the staff was really nice. Customer service is kind of a big deal to me. If their food didn’t suck, I’d come back just for that.

Was an out of towner and wanted something different than I has been eating over the past week. Was pleasantly surprised at the great sub with the freshest ingredients. Wish we had one of these st home. A huge step above that other sub shop — really no comparison.

This place recently opened up next to the Cold Stone on 21st Street. On Sunday, we were looking for a philly cheese steak place and most of the ones that we knew of were closed. In some sort of advertisement, we remembered this place opening up and heard good things. Here is my review… At first you walk in and the place looks simple. So simple that you get the impression that all they have behind the counter is a baguette, ham and cheese. Although their menu may be small, they have a variety of wraps, «light» eats, cold and hot subs available for almost anyone’s taste. They aren’t just another Subway Sandwich. Unlike Subway, they will give you the experience of a real sandwich. I do warn, though, that if you are wanting to eat healthy, you are probably better off going somewhere else! If you are here for taste, then you are at the right place! I had the Big Kahuna Cheese Steak. When I showed my student ID, I got a discounted meal with a drink and chips. The bread for the sandwich is soft and cushiony. Just perfect for the type of sandwich(Even better than Subway!). Anyways, if it’s a Sunday and your mom and pop sandwich place is closed, you must come here and try it out!
