This place is a hidden gem(at least hidden if you live in Boulder) while there are plenty of places to get Japanese cuisine in Boulder, I have yet to find one as good as Sachi. I was recommended to come here by a friend and kudos to that friend because I probably would not have found the place without the recommendation. It is in the Niwot market, which in itself is an adorable grocery store. It is a small homie little place with a friendly staff. I ordered a California roll, spicy tuna roll and spicy miso ramen. The ramen was awesome, very flavorful with just a touch of spice. The rolls were authentic with real sushi rice(surprisingly hard to find at certain sushi places in Boulder). I already can’t wait to go back.

When I lived in Colorado I would be here every Sunday for the ramen which is amazing. I no longer live here but still make the drive from wherever I am staying whenever I visit!

Strange locale inside the market, but good food and excellent, friendly service.

Um, accessible ramen! I work in Gun Barrel and was happy to find this place. Yes, it took a bit longer than I had hoped but I was expecting it from my fellow Unilocaler reviews. I ordered the Shoyu ramen and loved it. It was served with pork slices and egg and my egg was cooked fine. I found the service to be fine as well… nothing to write home about but all I was interested in was the ramen, lol! It is located in the Niwot Market which is a great place to pick up some other stuff.

We heard good things about their ramen. So, we drove there today and ordered Shoyu Ramen and Spicy Miso Ramen. I really didn’t mind that we were served our food 15 minutes after we ordered. Or that we were not offered any water. Sadly, when we finally tasted our ramen, we were very disappointed. The hard boiled eggs had greenish yolks and whites that were a sickly gray. The pork slices were dry and tasted old. The broth tasted old too. We usually take our leftovers to go, as we don’t like wasting food. But we left our bowls half-eaten. My husband’s tummy also felt off when we got home. We will not be returning to this place.

I have had heard many good things about this little hole-in-the-wall sushi place tucked inside a local market. Not recently though, so I thought it time to go check it out. It really is a horrible looking place, that just can’t be denied. It has the feel of a decrepit 1960s diner. This is NOT the place for a first date. The service is crummy. I sat down and no one waited on me. I went to the counter and was served by a grumpy Asian woman. I ordered a miso and Chirashi. The other reviews are correct, they take a very long time to get your food. The miso took 4 min, but I’m still waiting in the sashimi 20 min later. The miso is ok. Full-bodied, but lacking a freshness to it. It’s been boiling a long time. My sashimi finally arrived, 28 min in an empty restaurant. First impression, unimpressed. Just look at the photos. The fish is paper thin, dry, as decrepit as the décor. I ate the shrimp, then I backed up. There’s no way I’m eating this. I travel a lot, I can’t get sick, and I can’t take the very clear risk in this bowl. This is without doubt the most pathetic excuse for Japanese cuisine I have ever encountered. The packaged sushi at Trader Joes looks fresher than this. So I just did something I’ve never done. I left it all there, got up, told them they should be ashamed for serving this, and walked out. Now I see why I’m not hearing about this place anymore. I should have tried it years ago when everyone was raving about it. It’s a common trick amongst sushi joints though, put on a big grand display for a while after opening, and then cut every corner and take in the $$$ until your reputation collapses. By then they’ve made bank. 1-star. There’s nothing here remote to deserving of anything higher than this. It’s crazy expensive to boot.

How did I not write a review of this amazing place yet?! Sachi Sushi is probably my most attended restaurant since moving to Colorado a few years ago. I have been to well over 100 different sushi places, most of them authentic as opposed to Americanized. Tsukasa-san is a master of picking good fish, preparing the seafood properly, and seasoning everything JUST right! The ramen is amazing, easily the best ramen I have ever had, so go there on Sunday and try it out. His Mackerel is the best seasoned Mackerel I have ever had. I love the Battera and the Hakozushi, certainly something everyone should try, super authentic Osaka-style sushi. The price is just right. He recently had to raise prices. It felt like he was GIVING it away before and now it’s still so reasonable. I don’t feel guilty getting full at Sachi as opposed to other sushi restaurants. In short, Tsukasa is a rare genius and you should go there and see for yourself why he is so revered in Niwot.

Absolutely wonderful. This was our first visit so the chef recommended the spicy Raman bowl for me and the chirashi for my wife who is gluten free. They were very nice, helpful, and accommodating of dietary restrictions. The dishes were prepared beautifully and tasted great. We will definitely be back.

I love this place. I go for their Sunday ramen religiously. The owner is super humble and nice, and makes some incredible, classic dishes. I ask for extra pork on the shoyu ramen and I can’t complain. They vary the dish slightly each time, but it’s always good. Although I mainly go for the ramen, the sushi is excellent too. Being in the Niwot Market adds a whole other level of charm; it feels like that grocery store in that film«The Mist,» except… you know… in a good way, and without all the killer monsters waiting outside…

Completely unassuming in a grocery store, I love Gems like these! I don’t know if I can eat sushi anywhere else in the Boulder area. I was born and raised in Japan and this is as close as I’ve gotten to home. The chef is even from the same city my relatives are from in Osaka! Awesome, plain awesome!!!

oh my god! This place is a hidden gem. The head sushi chef is a true master. The atmosphere is unassuming and in the back of a grocery store and it takes a while to get your food if it’s crowded but it’s completely worth it. Everything is very fresh and you can’t go wrong

Absolutely wonderful ramen!!! Drove all the way from aurora for it. I have had domo in denver and katsup ramen here in aurora, and neither compare to the rich, silky, deliciously sticky ramen at aachi. I will be back

My favorite sushi bar near Boulder, CO. You will not get the 5 star vibe with the atmosphere, but the sushi is phenomenal. The rice bowl is my favorite dish.

This is the best and most authentic Japanese food we have had outside of Japan! The owners are from Osaka and are very nice. We love Ramen on Sundays, the udon noodle and rice dishes as well as the sushi. This is an all around fantastic Japanese and sushi place.

I swear when i say… I literally came all the way from the Bay Area just to eat here and Amu. I have nothing else planned for this weekend other than eatting their food. I felt like I was back in Japan, it was that good. I’ll leave this short because the food will do allll the talking. Chirashi is the winner here! But everything else on the menu is sure to be just as good!

Yes its in the Niwot market and its not fancy but it is some of the most authentic Japanese food in America and the bonus is you won’t leave broke. The Chirashi is excellent: fluffy and well-seasoned rice with finely shredded egg and sashimi. If you are an expert sashimi eater, you will instantly notice how the salmon is more flavorful and the mackerel is insanely sweet but not fishy. Also, try the Grilled Chicken Wings(dry wings with sea salt) if you appreciate juicy and moist chicken with crispy skin(if you like your wings drowned in sauce so that it doesn’t taste like chicken, then this is not for you.) During the summer, must try the cold ramen: its refreshing and satisfying.

Great ramen all the options have pork base stock, fyi. Also, extra noodles now cost 2.50+ tax. But totally worth it. Just make sure to not drink your broth until you’re done! I’ve never had to wait long to sit or be served. I’m glad my friend introduced us! Only ramen place I know of. We drive from Westminster for the ramen here.

It’s a long drive to Niwot from where we live but it is SO worth it. The Miso soup and Kamameshi-fu salmon bowl with teriyaki was just amazing. I DEVOURED it and not a single grain of rice remained. Tsukasa-san is an amazing cook and he is also very nice and humble. Sachi Sushi is hidden in the back corner of the Niwot Market. Truly a hidden gem for fresh Asian food. Seating is limited and there’s a high school nearby so keep that in mind during weekday lunch but there’s usually only a few people eating here at a given time. I guarantee you will never want to eat at Tokyo Joes ever again after eating here. If you decide to make the trek to Niwot you will not be disappointed!
