The last three years i had ONE great meal. It has been very inconsistent there. I was hoping to get a good dinner. It was horrible yet again. What a waste of money. The entire atmosphere was unpleasant. The waitresses need to work on their people skills. Total waste of a steak. We ordered med rare but came to our table well done. Workers were nasty and food was equally as nasty.

Dinner was marvelous… from the lamb lollipops to the crème brûlée. Nice homey atmosphere. Good service. Why has it taken me so long to stop in here? I’ll be back!

This place has gone downhill over the last year. The meals went from decent to badly made. The service is inconsistent. Sad. Parking is problematic.

Great for drinks and happy hour. Don’t go for dinner.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Ordered a steak salad and specifically asked for the steak to be well done. This order was to be picked up. After driving 20 minutes back home, I opened the bag and the meat was so red and raw that there was blood all over the other ingredients in the salad. I posted a review on their Facebook page and they immediately removed it. On the plus side, my dogs enjoyed the treat.

The food is very good. Not much on the outside but inside is nice. Staff was very friendly. Been here many times now and I’ve never had a bad meal.

Great food always by Chef Roger! Shrimp fusion is my fav app. They’re always bringing in new beers on tap too! Cozy atmosphere, don’t let the parking keep you away!

20 years ago I used to hang out here when I was home from college. I had not eaten there in many years. The other day my husband and I stopped in for a late lunch. They weren’t very busy, and we could tell they were getting ready for the dinner service. Infact we were the only people there. At first that concerned me, but we ended up getting extra special service. I ordered the most amazing steak appetizer on a garlic crustini and drizzled with a gorgonzola cream sauce. It was fabulous and the steak melted in my mouth. My entrée was an order of king crab legs. When they were brought out they were huge legs… in fact I brought 2 large legs home. My husband had a venison stew that looked delicious. The prices were on the high end for lunch (high teens and twenties) but the quality was outstanding. We will absolutely go back for another wonderful meal. Highly recommend.

The parking is a nightmare especially for a handicapped person with a wheelchair or
Walker. The parking lot is across 206 and there are steps and a narrow entrance.
Lunch service slow so don’t come
If busy. Having said that the staff are wonderful and accommodating. The

Horrible night!
The parking situation is not good — down 1 block, across the street, in the dirt & mud (since it was a rainy night).
The service was slow, very slow and not at all polite.
Then they had the nerve to add an 18% gratuity to our party of 6.
Not deserved or earned.
5 of the meals were «OK» but as another reviewer mentioned my burger came out undercooked & after being sent back another came out still somewhat undercooked.
probably because they were frozen & the middle never thawed as it cooked. Yuk! Who can’t cook a simple hamburger?
We will NOT be back. Never, ever, ever!

Had a great experience, stopped in for a quick dinner and a beer and was impressed. Could never figure out parking, which is across the street, and the worst part of this place. Sat at the bar, fantastic service, excellent «cherry bomb» appetizer. Shrimp, scallop, calamari, topped with cherry peppers and arugula salad — delicious !

Came on Unilocal and Hotel recommendation. Thursday night. Brought 6 people. Arrived at 6 pm left around 9 pm. Simple meals, poor service, poor customer service. Ok food, when it came. Place was empty when we arrived. Had about 30– 40 people when we left.
Appetizers, 2 burgers, 3 Fish and chips, 1 person had all apps. 1 – 2 rounds of drinks.
My martini was terrible. Not sure if it was cheap gin, watered down etc.
Food was ok when it came. (I had the fish and chips). One burger came raw and was sent back to be cooked. Asked to speak with mgr. (out for the night). Left disappointed because the service was poor (turns out only one server), food was ok when it came, and one meal was sent back. They offered 10% off the bill. Well heck, my hotel would have given me 10% off if I had presented my room key.
I think Drew and others stated be prepared to wait.
Spoke with mgr next day. She was off the night we were there, her husband was off that night as well (he is the chef). Other chef did a good job. So what was the problem and why is it mine?
Tracy only had excuses… not my problem this was hubbys first day off in xxx days. Zero customer service. Capital O. As a former food server, you never make excuses, always check back in and make it a point to let people know the status of their food and drinks.
Had the drinks been good, the service been better and the wait for everything a lot less, I could easily give this place 4 stars. Sad to say that they have not taken the recommendation of others on this list.

The staff is very friendly and addicted to the amazing food. Starting going in July because of a review on here and now go at least once a week. The specials are great. I recommend the steamers and lobster.

This place looks like a hole in the wall from the outside. I am pretty new to the area so I would not have gone here if people didn’t tell me about it.
They were super packed when we went. The staff was so friendly. The bartender chatted us up while we waited and our waitress answered all of my many questions. The place is so cute on the inside a very nice cozy place. It was very crowded when we were seated not a lot of moving room. The drinks and food were so good. It’s a bit pricey but worth it. I wish I could eat here all the time.
The parking is a bit weird. It’s mostly across the street from the place not like super far but farther than you would expect to walk from the parking lot of a place to the place. But that’s most likely a good thing to work off some of their amazing food.

This place has really yummy food. Everything I have ever eaten here was very good and the prices are reasonable. The only problem is the servers. They just stand around and the food takes a long time to come to the table because of it. It really stinks to have to wait longer for food because the waitstaff isn’t attentive. All in all, I still will go back because the food is good. But not when I’m pressed for time.

Horrible. Ordered Mediterranean Plate app for dinner, it was complete slop. Three year old hummus with crusty pieces, deep fried carrots and «tsatziki sauce» that was thicker than cream cheese. Chef’s choice of cheese was deli sliced and cut in triangles. Fiancé ordered burger cooked medium but it was extra well charred. Service was curteous but slow. Won’t be returning.

If I were writing this review based on the food only, I’d happily give it 5 stars. The food was surprisingly amazing. However, the service was terrible. We went on an off-​hour and the place was dead, so there was really no excuse. Plus, both bathrooms were pretty dirty, especially for only being midday. We’ll try it again, but only when we have extra time to spare.

A gem in Newton. The Gorgonzola Brushetta is to die for. Casual atmosphere and and excellent and caring wait staff is all I could want. Well done.

4.5 stars, and I’ll explain why.
This place looks like such a dump from the outside. So much so that when I got into town the night and drove by, I literally thought «well I definitely won’t be eating there!» I’m so glad somebody talked me into tagging along.
County Seat was so not ready for our party of 14. I’m guessing they don’t get a big crowd here, which is a shame cause the food was phenomenal, especially for the price. Our waitress looked absolutely petrified at the thought of having a table of 14, but she really did her best and was cool about splitting the checks multiple ways, despite the fact that she took forever.
I ordered a special that night: shrimp, pork belly, and grits. It was my first time having both grits and pork belly. I discovered that I do not care for grits and that I will happily eat a slab of pig fat any day. It was beyond delicious. I think it was an appetizer, but it was big enough for an entrée and was really a steal at $ 10.
The menu was creative and had several things I’d never tried before, including boar. My friend next to me ordered it and said it was fantastic so I’m kind of wishing I had taken a piece from him.
We probably waited close to an hour to get our checks after everyone had finished eating. Unacceptable but our waitress was very clearly frazzled.
The half star deduction is because, with NO OTHER TABLES in the restaurant, we were told we were not allowed to play the jukebox because «we don’t allow it on until 9pm because we’re a family restaurant.» It had to be 8:30 when we asked, and we were literally the only people in there. Pretty stupid.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

As someone else mentioned, the outside of the building– and the whole overall area really– makes this place easy to pass. They redid the inside a few years ago and its quite nice. More importantly A. the service is ALWAYS wonderful! and B. The food is never a miss! Everything is delicious– all the time. The chef thinks up some pretty great specials, the bourbon fries are a huge hit, and u can never go wrong with one of their steaks.
