The food here is great! The staff is really nice and they are always working hard when I go in there. I highly recommend this place for pizza and subs.

This is by far the best Italian sub you can get from a local sandwich/​pizza place. I ordered delivery having no expectations and was extremely shocked to see quality meats in the sandwich instead of your typical low quality deli meats you get in an Italian sub. The delivery is timely and super easy ordering online. Definitely my go to for an Italian sub in Newburyport!

I am new to Newburyport, I have a boat at one of the marinas down the road so I am trying out all of the local restaurants lately. I do have to say that I keep going back to this place because the food is DELICIOUS! Twice, I have gone in and ordered, paid and run down the street to do an errand to come back to pick up my order and one of the employees has ran out to bring the order to my car window! That was really cool. They are fast and I have not had one bad order yet. I would have given it 5 stars but there are a few things they could improve on:
They close very early, especially on the weekends. I think they are busy enough to stay open until at least 11…
There are no bathrooms. that I’m aware of. It’s weird that there is inside dining but no bathrooms.
There is a female who works the front counter who is just… well to put it bluntly, very rude. It hasn’t happened just one time, I have gone in at least 4 times in the past 3 weeks (yes, the food is that good!) and I always seem to get this one employee who is just rude. She doesn’t greet you, she has shoved my order across the counter twice already and very short and blunt when speaking back to you. Now, I consider myself a VERY friendly person and I’ve always gone in and smiled and carried on my business only to be treated like I’m bothering her in some way by walking in to this establishment. I only mention this so if by chance the owner does monitor his Unilocal reviews he/​she could speak to his staff about customer service and to smile and greet their customers.

We stopped by after dropping out daughter at practice and are so happy that we did! I had Greek salad and it had slews of pitted kalamata olives and feta cheese. The cheesy bread was crisp and yummy and not at all heavy and my son’s chicken tenders and fries were light and crisp as well. My husband had a pastrami grinder that he ate very happily (!) AND it came with a very fresh side salad that was generous in its size.
The service was friendly and the food came out quickly. Without hesitation we’d recommend!!!

This place literally almost killed me last week. I ordered a steak and cheese with peppers and onions with light mayo. I ate it at around 1:30pm, 30 to 40 minutes later I was violently throwing up and that didn’t not stop till 11pm. Cold sweats, a gut wrenching stabbing pain and a fever accompanied the throwing up. Classic food poisoning. I really can’t recall ever feeling that sick in my life. I highly recommend you stay away from this place.

Best pizza in town, great calzones too My personal favorite is the buffalo chicken calzone. If you’re in the neighborhood definitely stop in for a meal.

Tasty pizza. The pepperoni pizza is excellent! Delivery is consistent and timely. Highly recommended.

Famous should be renamed Newburyport pizza! Local place with decent food. Great specify pizza. They has a moment with poor food quality but they seem to have fixed the issue.

I’m new in town and trying to find the best places to get all my favorite things, I found myself In need of a last minute late night dinner plan and so I went to famous at about 9:50, they had already shut off the grill but knowing I had specifically wanted a cheesesteak sub they turned the grill on for me, everything was hot and delicious, great experience with people who really care about customers, I’ve also had Pizza from them and its the best in town!

Amazing calzones! Pizza so/​so. When you order each box has a ticket and after I think 10 you get a free pizza so in that sense it’s a good pizza. I haven’t tried much else there but I will say since going there I’ve been having a lot of trouble finding a calzone that can meet my expectations. So good.

Good reliable popular local pizza joint, with some Greek food wraps and subs with a friendly family owner George — and ice cream too in the summer. Recommended!

Great Pizza place for the locals. I’ve been ordering for years and have never had a bad experience. The delivery is fast when you need it, and you can order and pay online too if you prefer.
You can tell it’s well run right when you walk in. You never see staff lounging around and everything in the kitchen happens quickly.

My family and I have ordered from Famous every week for 3 years. We have always loved their pizzas and wraps. Last night I dodged a chicken bone that was inside my California wrap. I understand that it’s only natural and blew it off. Tonight, my mother pulled a plastic bread tag/​tie out of her mouth. I called the owner and he gave her some hablooey about how they’re busy and the tags fly everywhere. They offered to send her another one. (The wrap is mostly gone when we find the tag). So what now? I then just relay to The owner… (who truly is a very nice man whom much of my family knows) …the status of my California wrap last night with the chicken bone and the owner mumbles about being busy and how bones are in chicken and how he’ll talk to his grillers. By this point, I said whatever, i called b/​c if it were MY company, I’d wanna know these accidents. Luckily I’m an adult and small child didn’t get these «non-​food» hazards. I’m taking a Break from this place. Parents, check your kids items.

We’re local and have had pizza food from every vendor in town. We’ve had Famous’s pizzas and calzones many times, usually delivered. It’s always good, it’s always hot, and it’s always prompt. Being able to order and tip online is also convenient.

Awesome sandwiches and pizza. You can’t go wrong with anything you eat here.

The pizza and sandwiches are outstanding. This is our go-​to pizza place, and best of all, they deliver.
My current favorite sandwich is their tangy chicken wrap (which has granny smith apple in it — a definite YUM). They recently revamped their menu and their wraps and paninis are to die for.
As for their dinners, like manicotti, they are okay — nothing special. but I don’t call a ;pizza store for a spaghetti dinner anyway.
Love the Caeser and Chef salads. As for the steak tips, they have changed the way they are cut and the recipe — DELICIOUS — on both the steak tip salad and the steak tip kabob wrap (my absolute favorite).
The chicken lemon soup and the broccoli soup are totally wonderful.
Basically, solidly consistently good food, reasonable prices, AND they deliver.

Def good pizza. there was a good coupon on their website that i was able to use and save about $ 8 on a $ 20 order. so i’d def recommend it

We’ve ordered from this restaurant twice and have been pleased by the promptness of delivery and quality of offerings.
The first time I placed a very large order online and they called not only to verify the accuracy of the order, but also to let me know if I joined their mailing list I would receive 15% off the order since it was my first — bonus! That’s awesome customer service and definitely was appreciated.
The Greek lemon chicken soup so far has been my favorite dish, however the spinach and black olive pizza also earned rave reviews. Everyone we ordered for enjoyed the food and one suggested we’ve found our game night delivery place.

Easily the best pizza in town. If you’re looking for a solid pizza choice this is it. It’s not your cheapest or fanciest, but it’s definitely the best all around. It is what pizza was made to be — delicious and filling.
And if you’re not in the mood for pizza, they’ve got a large variety of salads, yummy subs, and typical pizza appetizers. All of their stuff is digital and they’ve got a plazma TV with all the sports if you decide to eat in or pick up. In the summer, they’ve got ice cream too and its right across from a nice little park.
Delivery is timely and they’ve never messed up an order in the many times i’ve ordered. Great food. Highly recommended.
