Have to agree the potstickers are one of the best around always base my Chinese food on those not too much ginger and just a great mix. The owner was super friendly and my lady was very happy with her pork wonton soup. I could eat just the potstickers and chow mein and I’d be good!

Great food, great service definitely coming back. Fried rice reminds me of Cuban fried rice. The best kind! Prices are reasonable and very clean.

My go-tos are salt and pepper chicken, pork fried rice, house chow mein, and if im feeling it I get that broccoli beef and fried prawns. It has an older feel tucked in a small shopping center. Family owned and everyone is real cool. 5 Stars!

Very unsatisfied with this place, everything was overcooked, underseasoned or not what it was supposed to be. Bbq pork chow mein was cut up slices of ham, not bbq’ed at all. Broccoli beef was overcooked and drowned in sauce. Rice was mushy like too much water was added to the rice cooker, see photo evidence. The potstickers albeit were pretty good. I tried something new because my place was closed for the holidays and saw this place was family owned, I’m always down to support the small, local business owner, sadly though I won’t be back again.

Overall, I am satisfied. I’m not sure why this place is barely busy, and I’m happy less people know about it, more to me. Lol! Kidding. I’ve been coming here since the decors were outdated and since they had rugs instead of carpets. Now the ambience is EXCELLENT. They have everything well decorated. Also they are very nice people. I’ve never had a bad experience. And If that’s not too much to take it in? Their food is ONPOINT as well. IMO! The food here tastes better then Panda. I swear. If you’ve never tried this place, just give it ONE try. If anything doesn’t go right, at least the food will. Please don’t miss this place.

First time for take out from this staple in Newark. It’s located in a small strip center. It has a private parking lot with ample space. It’s a small restaurant with maybe 15 tables. It’s got an older vibe. It’s not bright and open, but it’s what anyone should expect for your typical local mom and pop chinese restaurant. Again, it’s not modern. The décor is outdated which may give the appearance of dingy, but the restaurant is clean. I called in an order around 6pm on a Monday night and was pleased that the phone was answered in a couple rings. The person who answered the phone had a pleasant, friendly voice. I ordered chicken chow mein, yang chow fried rice, beef with broccoli, and orange chicken. He repeated back the order and estimated 20 minutes. I arrived in about 15 minutes. I was quickly greeted and my food was ready on time and the order was correct. It was piping hot! The chicken chow mein was good(especially as leftovers). It had the right amount of crunch with the celery and sprouts. The yang chow fried rice has pork, chicken and shrimp. For me, the pork was dry, but the flavor of the rice otherwise was good. I asked for the beef with broccoli spicy. It had a kick but wasn’t overly spicy(as if that’s possible). The broccoli was fresh and had a nice crunch. The orange chicken was fresh and topped with orange slices. It was fragrant and I could really taste the citrus, but not so much that it had a bite. It just tasted fresh. Everything was nicely packaged and included fortune cookies, soy sauce packets, and tea bags(that was a nice touch). I’d like to go back and give a few more items a try.

Worst service EVER! Waited two hours for delivery. Called three times to check where the food was and every time they said 5 more minutes. The last time we called we cancelled the order at the same time the door bell rang it was our food. The man on the phone said he would take $ 5 off. NOTHANKS. Keep your food.

First time trying this local place, since grand Taipei in Hayward changed owners. Guy who took order over the phone was friendly, but at soon as you walk in there I feel like I’m walking into a bar. Very dark and not that clean looking. Girl who came out was nice. FOOD: … sorry guys but it has no flavor whatsoever, taste burnt. I WILLNOT I repeat be coming back to this place. I’d rather go to Panda Express.

After moving back to Newark we were looking for a neighborhood Chinese restaurant to accommodate our fix and found Jade Palace at Unilocal.Honestly I didn’t expect much given the location but this place is probably close to the epitome of its niche. The service is great; Jimmy and the crew are a step above in the customer relations department. Aside from being extra-courteous and helpful they also remember faces, names, and orders. Doesn’t get much better than that. The FOOD! Surprisingly tasty to our unsophisticated palates. We tried the popular potstickers which are as good as advertised; so far we’ve also had the singapore rice noodles regularly(recommended by Jimmy, great), mushu pork, chicken w/vegetables, salt pepper pork chop, and mabo doufu. They also have good fortune cookies somehow(not cardboard wrapped in plastic), and even include tea in their takeout. For a neighborhood family Chinese restaurant(grantedly skewing towards Western tastes) it doesn’t get much better than this.

Jade palace is my go to Chinese food restaurant. I was recommended by a friend and absolutely fell in love with their potstickers and pork fried rice! Their egg rolls as well. I have NEVER had any other egg roll that tasted better than at jade palace! I try not to eat out too much, but I come to jade palace pretty much at least once a week for dinner. Their dinner specials include soup, fried wontons, fried prawn, and either fried rice or chow mein too. They are closed on Tuesdays though, so don’t go then. Absolutely no complaints about the food or service. It is WONDERFUL! I am excited to try all the new appetizers!

This place is unbelievably delicious. Julie and the chef took great care of me! This is the fifth time that I’ve been here and it just keeps getting better!
