I got the spicy beef stew with the sour cabbage. The portion size is what you would expect for the price. It was definitely filling. The broth wasn’t too spicy and the sour cabbage gives it a nice balance between sour and spicy. Would come back again to try the other soups. Credit card only if bill is 30 $+…bring cash!

They have the BESTNOODLES when it’s good it’s GREAT however if you catch them on a off day for beef or pork soup the meat can be REALLYTUFF.

We popped in here for a quick meal while passing through the area. The table shared a salad, then the Mister and I opted for the Big Plate Lamb(me) and Big Plate Chicken(him). I found the lamb to be a little gamey/tendony/fatty for my liking(I guess my brain had conjured chunks of lamb meat as opposed to what came out), but the sauce was tasty, and the noodles were chewy deliciousness(I wish there had been more of them!!!). Our buddy ordered a chow mein dish that looked excellent — I will admit to being slightly jealous. I’m rating this a 3 because I’m reasonably sure that had I ordered something else, I would have been dancing in my seat. The servers were friendly, and the cook even came out to play with our friend’s one year old(who we soon learned loves little sour Chinese plums)!

Ordered the spicy beef noodle soup. Its very meaty and the noodles and nice and springy. The broth has a floral accent to it that I couldn’t pin point. Maybe it was cloves or something but idk, I’m not the chef lol. And when they say spicy, man it was SPICY. It was hard to finish. It sure did help clear my stuffy nose though haha. It also seems as though the menu has many tasty Chinese dishes that I haven’t yet to try. Maybe I’ll come back and explore the menu more.

Had this place bookmarked for awhile. Not sure where I had heard about it from. Anyways met a couple friends for dinner. The place is not very big and it was pretty busy on a weekend. Anyways we took a little while perusing the menu. Service is average for an Asian place. ie Slow. Haha. I decided on the the tomato beef noodle soup. And we got a clam appetizer to share. My noodle soup was a little different than expected. It was a clear broth with chunks of beef and tomato and noodles of course. I was expecting more of a tomato broth I guess. Noodles were round and thick and good, not overcooked. A whole bowl was the perfect size for me, super filling. The clam appetizer was delish too. Cold and actually a big portion, with lots of clam meats for around $ 5. Not bad. I also tried some of my friend’s stir fried noodle dish and the spicy beef noodle soup. Both were also good. A nice place for your noodle craving,

Loved the big plate spicy lamb — that sauce was DELICIOUS! And was actually legitimately spicy(slightly above mildly spicy but not mouth-numbing). My kids liked the braised rib soup noodles. I ordered the lamb soup noodle and it was okay — good soup base but I liked the big plate lamb more. Noodles were perfectly made — not soggy and had a good chewiness to it. They do take credit cards but seems like you have to meet a minimum which we did with three plates. Would come back again!

Came here 2 times so far and has not been disappointed. We ordered the lamb large plate along with some appetizer for our first visit. Second time around, we ordered the Spicy Beef Stew Noodle and Hot and Spicy noodle. They tasted just like the one I ate in Taiwan. Now waiting for my 3rd time ordering the beef big plate, chili oil noodle, and spicy beef. cant wait

Yes, this was an OK noodle spot. I got the hot snd spicy beef noodle soup(I think N4?) and it was wayyyy too spicy. I had to ask if they could possibly make it mild, and they were cool and took it back. It was much better afterwards, still a tad spicy but good. Noodles though — they’re HANDMADE, making them special. The noodles are very chewy, which people like, but I think too chewy for my preference. Braised beef — 4 stars. Tender and soft, me like. Friend got the same but non spicy. It was very clean, but still 3 stars. OVERALL: not bad noodle spot. Big portions too.

I’ve come to really like this place! I’ve been coming here for more than a year now, and their noodles are really just unbeatable. The chewiness and quality of the noodles are great, and I haven’t found anywhere else around the area with noodles like this!(And believe me, I’ve eaten a looooot of noodles around South Bay). I always get the spicy fish noodle soup here. There are a lot a lot a lot of noodles in the bowl! Fish is okay, and I wish there were more vegetables. But the noodles! So much. I’ve also tried my friend’s spicy beef noodle soup, and the flavor is quite good as well, though a bit on the spicy side. The big plate chicken is a really special dish and it’s huge! Lots of meat, though more noodles could be good. Get this and an appetizer to share with one other person, and you’re set! If you’re here by yourself for the first time, get the big plate chicken and prepare for leftovers! If you’re here for a second time, get the spicy fish noodle soup. I love it! Yum. Pricing is a bit high, but for the amount of food you get, it’s great! My fish noodle is $ 8.80 pre-tax pre-tip, and the big chicken plate is $ 10.99. Highly recommend!

This place definitely met my expectations of a 4 star restaurant. If you love the chewy texture of fresh, hand pulled noodles, you’ve got to try this place out! I ordered the spicy beef stew noodle soup. It was a little bit oily and I had to add some soy sauce to the soup because it was very light in flavor but the noodles were beyond good. I could eat a bowl of these noodles every day. If you’re a fan of beef with tendons, they give you at least 5 – 6 hearty pieces along with some Napa cabbage. My cousin ordered the braised beef noodle soup which was not spicy. She cleared her entire bowl which to me is definitely a sign that she enjoyed what she got. I got us a sweet and sour cucumbers appetizer to start. They were fresh and crisp and marinated just right. I added some red chilies to it which really kicked it up a notch. I’d order all three items again and definitely plan on coming back next time I get a craving for noodles.

We were planning to catch«The Mermaid»(Think Kung Fu Hustle + Splash) at Union City, so Unilocal led us to nearby Newark to try OK Noodle for lunch. They specialize in Northern Chinese style noodle dishes — soups, stews, hearty braises. I think its better than OK — noodle dishes here are excellent. 4 stars! I got the Big Plate Chicken — an interesting platter that resembles a tomato-based stew with bone-in chicken pieces. The flavors had a nice bit of spiciness, and I liked the use of ginger and star anise. The noodles were the flat kind, and I liked the chewy texture. Chicken was tender and flavorful. This dish had a good amount of stewed potatoes too which absorbed the spicy broth. Hearty, robust flavors — 5 stars! The wife got the Tomato Beef Noodle Soup. Beef was super tender and juicy, while noodles were chewy in a good way. She liked the broth too. I think their beef noodle soup is better than Café Taiwan(Pleasanton) and Jim’s Taiwanese(Dublin). The only disappointment was their Chinese Pork Burger, which I got as an appetizer to share. The bun was way too thick for the amount of minced pork they used. I ate most of the center but near the edges things got way too starchy. 3 stars. Will definitely come back if I’m in the areas — noodle-based dishes are the way to go.

We came in on a Thursday around 1pm and the place had a few people but was not busy by any means. We ordered the big plate of lamb with noodles, the tripe with garlic oil, and the hand tossed lamb. The big plate of lamb with noodles came on a large silver platter and had deliciously potatoes and somewhat gamey lamb. The noodles were thick, chewy, and tasty. This dish was definitely 4 stars and easily shared by two people. Unfortunately, the tripe was sub-par. There was no garlic taste to it at all, just salt. We barely touched this one. As for the hand tossed lamb? Well, that didn’t arrive at all. Luckily, we were so full from the big plate of lamb that we didn’t miss the hand tossed lamb and didn’t feel the need to try to finish the tripe, but those two misses were enough to knock this down to a 3 star review. So the point is: stick to what these people do best – noodles(and lamb if you like it gamey). And if you dont get what you ordered within 5 minutes of your other dishes arriving, they probably forgot it. But sometimes you’re so full that this is a blessing in disguise.

I’m a sucker for hand pulled noodles. The lamb noodles are amazing — but the flavoring was meh(tasted like satay stir-fried lamb covered in a lot of corn starch) for $ 11 we should’ve gotten something else. The rib soup with mushrooms was also meh in flavoring. But. their noodles are sooooo good. Trying the tomatoes with beef dry noodles next!!! and the Big Lamb Plate looks so delicious(their signature) as well. Oh and their Liang Pi(cold dish) is yummy, as is their black fungus appetizer, one of the best I’ve had.

Good service and good food. Especially recommend 凉皮 and 羊肉炒馍!大盘鸡 is also delicious with wide and chewy noodles, but not that special. The lamb is tasty and makes a great combination with the small bun cube in 羊肉炒馍!

Well this place is certainly better than just ok but hey its not my job to name these establishments. What I can tell you is the place does the Chinese dishes very well! Thanks to some bookmarks from some Unilocal friends I bookmarked this little gem a few months back fully meaning to stop in when I was making sales calls in the area, fast forward to today and bingo our destinies met. This place is in a very quiet little shopping center just east of Cedar on Central(make sure you don’t miss it because you could wind up going over 880 and having to turn around). The place was packed with people and there was only one guy doing the serving and order taking(rough job for him). He had his own comfortable pace going but the food was coming out quicker than he could get to it and the people were waiting for their checks for sometime as well. Don’t plan on eating super fast when you come here. Hopefully they get someone to help this poor guy, he works hard but there is a ton for him to do. Really though if that’s all that’s wrong with this place then I figured I was in for a treat and I was. When we finally sat down we ordered some starters(they didn’t have pickled veggies). I ordered the spicy tendon and the tripe. Skip the tripe, its not terrible but its a 3 star dish at best, the flavor was lacking though the texture of the tripe was spot on, it wasn’t super chewy or rubbery, it actually reminded me of a noodle at times so well done. The tendon on the other hand, out of this world(5 stars plus!!). Super garlicky(I love garlic), plenty of chilies and the right texture, not too chewy, not to rough to eat. The heat level was perfect just the right amount of spice and served cold too which means you can power through these in no time, might I suggest you order two helpings! On to the soup… I had the spicy beef stew. The meat reminded me of the best pot roast I had tasted, it was super tender and flavorful. The broth was flavored well, it had a stronger clove/pepper taste to it but it was really good. The noodles where out of this world. The texture, the consistency and the slurp factor were all a 5 plus star. I have never really had hand pulled noodles but I can tell you I don’t want anything else in the future, ridiculous. The quantity of food was impressive as well, a friend and I ate two soups, two appetizers(couldn’t finish any of them fully) and we paid $ 30, sweet! Definitely coming back to this place when I have the time to spend, so amazing!

Three words: hand pulled noodles!!! It’s hard to find restaurants nowadays that serve authentic hand pulled noodles but I’m so glad I found this place. The portions here are huge and the flavor is pretty spot-on as well. I ordered zha jiang mian, one of my favorite noodle dishes ever. I always get asked what zha jiang mian is because it looks like a strange brown sauce over noodles. Basically the dish consists of noodles(mian), sliced cucumbers, and ground pork mixed with zha jiang, which is a salty fermented soybean paste(trust me, it tastes 10000x better than it looks or sounds). The flavor to their sauce here is just right! Most Shanghai restaurants I’ve been to make their sauce too sweet but here, it’s just perfect. It was also nice of them to serve the sauce in a separate bowl from the noodles, allowing you to control how much sauce you want and prevent it from being too salty. The service here is definitely lacking and most of the servers don’t speak much English, but that’s expected from a typical authentic Chinese restaurant. The food is delicious though so the service isn’t too big of a deal. Needless to say, I’ll definitely be back soon.

Oh man. So glad I found this place through Unilocal.I was craving something spicy and hot so I went looking for Taiwanese beef noodle soup. Not only was the soup piping hot the entire meal, it had just the right amount of spice. The noodles were perfectly chewy and homemade. The beef was SOSO flavorful. They definite season if perfectly and it was cooked nice and soft. The only warning is it is extremely oily. Just using the chopsticks oil starts dripping to my hand. But it was worth it. Yum! Friendly service too. We came in at 2:40 and they were happy to serve us and also took credit card!

I’ve literally craved their noodles every week since I’ve first tried it. Their spicy beef noodle soup is so crave-able and one of my ultimate comfort foods. The hand pulled noodles are soft yet springy and the beef is tender. You can adjust how spicy the soup is — I asked for a very mild soup and it still had a definite kick. The level of spiciness is relative, so if you’re sensitive to spiciness definitely stress that when you order. One order can be shared between two people(approximately similar in size to a large bowl of phở) but I prefer to have it to myself because I enjoy it that much. This soup reminds me of Vietnamese beef stew, although I prefer OK Noodle’s spicy beef noodle soup because the noodles are way better. My boyfriend ordered the chili oil noodles which were delicious as well. It’s a simple dish with pork, lettuce and hand pulled noodles but I really enjoyed it. The dish was definitely spicy so be aware of that. I’m more accustomed to eating Cantonese style Chinese food but it was nice to switch it up. I went when they opened at 5pm, it wasn’t so busy but plenty of people showed up within the hour. Service is decent. OK Noodle is a new go to for comfort food.

It’s hard to believe I found another LEGIT Chinese restaurant serving up QQ noodles style food. I thought it would never happen but here it is! This restaurant is in a very non descript plaza. The inside of the place is not fancy but they do have TV’s playing Chinese Youtube-like videos of people in Northern China prepping and cooking the types of food that they serve at their restaurant. Of course, not having gone to China in my adult life, I am always constantly surprised by the variety of food and dishes that regions of China are known for. In the North, they consume a lot of flour and noodles because rice is scarce since they don’t have the weather to grow it. So their noodles must be exceptional. This restaurant’s take on that food did not disappoint. I ordered the spicy beef noodle soup. It was SO good. I’ve gone to so many restaurants(Taiwanese AND Chinese) and haven’t found a beef noodle soup that I really liked. This one has a good combination of spice(not firey hot but it’s got a hearty kick), and delicious noodles. The broth is very beefy, and hearty. SO good. The meat is Cantonese style braised beef meat(炆牛腩 I hope I got that right). The flavors are definitely on point with what I like in a broth and the noodles are perfect. And a massive amount. This bowl is shareable. We also ordered the spicy and sour noodle soup, which is like QQ noodle’s version. It was okay, still really good, but I prefer QQ Noodle’s take on it much more.
