I actually came into Manila Resto by accident while i was shopping in the area. Much to my surprise it was really empty but they had a lot of food ready to serve(Filipino restaurants are usually cafeteria style.) I wasn’t disappointed in the variety of food available. This restaurant actually offers many options considering they have specialty ice cream and short order available. However, since there’s not a flow of customers the food was actually not that warm and lacking in some of the taste. The staff are very courteous and the place is rather clean and spacious. I just wish there was more advertising in the front to gain more attraction to customers. I recommend this place if you’re looking for quick filipino food at a decent price.

I would give this place a 3 star mainly because of its cleanliness and not of the food itself. Food is ok, nothing special about the menu nor the taste, cashier lady is very pleasing to talk too. However the whole ambiance of the restaurant is boring, I would put a tv with Filipino channel mainly most of its clients are Filipino.

Quick background about me, was born in Philippines, raised here but with a strong traditional Filipino background, basically, I’m as Filipino as they come. So believe me when I tell you, most Filipino restaurants have the rudest customer service. Forget talking to you nicely, they can’t even smile, and smiling barely takes any effort. This is what compelled me to write a review about this place. This is what makes them stand out in comparison to other Filipino restaurants. They also give generous portions, there is food ready to eat, an order to cook option, and there is dessert! I can only base the taste of the food on the couple items I’ve tried so far, and I’m not gonna lie and say they are the best, but they are more than OK. In this instance though, 5 stars for outstanding customer service, which nowadays sometimes is worth more than excellent food.

The best goto in town! There is so much going on in one serving of «made2order» hot bowl of sticky soup. Full of flavor with tender juicy tripe and pork fat. Adding pieces of crunchy skin from lechon kawali on top is a plus. I will definitely go back!

Visited on a weekday for lunch in early November. Food was sub par(very oily), small portions, and unfriendly service to top it off(it was like i was annoying the staff by ordering.) Unfortunately I will not be returning, I would not recommend.

NEW review! They just added their«short order» menu and it does NOT disappoint! Aunties pancit guisado is on point! My other favorites: Manila chicken Pancit lomi– so good on cold days Halo halo Crispy pata A new Filipino restaurant in national city! This place is HUMONGOUS. super clean and the owners are sweet! I had the breakfast. I got beef tapa, bangus and a huge mountain of garlic fried rice… SOGOOD! Tastes just like my mom and aunties home cooking! Way better than grill city’s breakfast(gross). I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

I like this place. This our first time coming here. Food is good, nice and friendly staff, tables and floor are clean and the ventilation is good. I left the place not smelling like«ulam». Hope they keep it sanitary. I give it a thumbs up!

Was visiting San Diego and decided to go to National City to have Filipino food. Checked out Unilocal and decided to try this place. Did not disappoint was clean had great service and real tasty food. The dinaguan(chocolate meat) was especially good. Also loved the puto flan. Half flan half puto.

I love the portion size of your Sisig but too much fat on it that I ending up picking on the food. hopefully this serves as a constructive criticism. i would love to come back if it does change.

This place is new! It replaced that asianfusion restaraunt I think? Not sure I havent been here for a yr. but anyways so far good management they need to change the colors of the walls it looks the same from the previous management/restaraunt! We got sisig, bicol express, pakbit. It was good it’s just the bicol express wasn’t spicy at all! But other than that good!

The place looks nice the food looks presentable but the taste… I’m filipino and I’ve grown up with filipino foods but let me tell you this food is cheap for a reason. It’s just not living up to the hype. Just go to manila sunset or zarlitos and get your money’s worth! It does not taste good at all. I came here with my aunt and dad and we barely finished our food we just packed and left.

I normally wouldn’t rate a restaurant so highly after just one visit but I know I’ll be back. The dining area is huge and well-decorated as well… But the best part is the HUGE portions. It’s like when you go to your Filipino auntie’s house and she keeps piling pansit on your plate even when you say«no no that’s okay po.» We came for lunch. Five people shared two three-entrée combos and there were plenty of leftovers! They served our entrees literally heaped in styrofoam takeout containers. I had pansit(thin noodles with meat and vegetables), paksiw na bangus(milkfish stewed in vinegar), and pusit(squid in sauce). My favorite was the bangus. Next time I want to try the fried fish. Their drink options include regular fountain drinks(HUGE cups with free refills), canned mango juice, and canned coconut juice. Authentic Filipino food in a great location with lovely people. Thanks Manila Resto!
