This bakery has the best cream cheese rolls and pecan tarts. Don’t mind driving down here whenever I’m in the mood for some pasteries.

A small corner(literally) Filipino bakery. Convenient as it is right next to seafood city… They have your usual Filipino baked goods. Quality is good. Prices are fair. Parking can be tough.

Didn’t like the Spanish bread, it had cream cheese filling, not the kind I’m used to. It’s ok I guess. I wanted some«ube halaya» and sad to say they didn’t deliver. It was the worst one I’ve tasted so far. I’m giving them the 3 stars for the flan. It was creamy and heavenly. The place is really small and kinda cramped, I was in line and I felt like I was encroaching on the personal space of the customer in front of me and vice versa. It’s gonna be a hard decision to make to come back just for the flan– when your name calls for bread and it’s supposed to be deluxe you gotta have at least one that’ll blow the customer’s socks off. IMHO.

I tried the steam pork buns and ube bread from here. The pork stuffing isn’t good to me. It tasted like burning wood and soy sauce. Not a combo I am used to. I am used to eating Chinese and Vietnamese style pork buns. However, the ube bread was sweet and good but the bread was very dry and stale. I hate wasting food!

The best cheese bolls and Spanish rolls hands down! It’s like a party in my mouth! It’s the best when it’s fresh or a quick microwave nuke!

My go to place for pandesal(rolls). This is the Mecca for Pinoys with Goldilocks and Seafood City in the same mall. So watch out for those older Asian women driving their cars and for parents hang on to your kids. So my best tip is to come in the morning before everyone comes over. On weekends I usually go here around 8am. The pandesal is the best I have tasted in SD. You can get it warm around this time and the parking lot isn’t full. They take atm minimum $ 5 purchase.

I do love all the different baked goods they have for sale here. Most of them are so foreign to me, but they look delicious. I come here for the butter bread and the pan de sal. They’re both so freaking tasty, and even though I know they’re not good for me, I can’t stop myself from eating them. This little shop is right to the left of the Seafood City entrance, so you might not even notice it. The parking lot here is out of control crazy, with all the shoppers going to Seafood City and the Big Lots. I always resign myself to the fact that I’m going to be forced to park a ways away just to get to the store. The girls who work here are pleasant enough, but certainly not friendly. Every time I go in, I feel so out of place, and I know I’m not being overly sensitive, since I’m not the only one to have remarked on that feeling. But hell — I’m in there for a good two minutes — enough time to grab a bag of butter bread, a bag of pan de sal, point and drool over the other baked goods, pay for my items, and get the hell outta there. So, I guess what I’m saying is the girls don’t have to be friendly — I can deal with«pleasant».

Oh… hai, Bread Deluxe! Nice to meet you, and why haven’t we been introduced before?! Apparently, my mother has been holding out on me on awesome food and food places to eat! We almost left because we couldn’t see the place between the big store next to it on one side and the building sticking out on the other side. Between those two monsters and a wide array of other filipino goodies stores is this little gem! I was looking for cheese bread/balls/rolls? Anyway, they had to be the mildly sweet kind. I got hooked when a coworker gave me one but all I’d find anywhere I looked were sugar coated ones. Anyway…they have them here and they’re to die for! The bread is amazingly soft and has just the right touch of sweetness to where you don’t feel you’ll nearly die if you don’t get milk or water in your system ASAP. Drool. I wish I knew what everything else was! I also got the coconut bread. That’s yum too, the mother loved it and I get it, the coconut has a perfect balance of juiciness to it. I wanted some of the rice thingers but all the packages were huge. Actually, we only wanted 2 of the cheese balls and two of the coconut bread things… we just asked the lady if we could have two of each, and since they package their own bread, she quickly opened up two packages and hooked it up with only what we wanted. They probably would have done it with the rice things too… I missed out! Will I be back?! HELLZTOTHEYEA! The only thing I didn’t see was turron… I would have been down for some of that too!

Bread Deluxe is probably one of my favorite Filipino bakeries in San Diego by far and there are a lot of big name competition out there. The only problem for me is their location! It is quite a drive from where I live but it shows how much I think it’s worth it if I take the time to drive this far. I came here with my mother in search for desserts for our house party and we came out of here with bags and bags of goodies. The service here was great since we were asking for certain sizes of rice cakes and such the employees were very accommodating and so friendly and helpful. I love their puto(rice cake)!! LOVELOVELOVE! It just tasted right to me with that light and fluffy texture. It just tasted fresh. Their ensaymada/ensemadas forgive me if I spelled it incorrectly are to DIE for. Also their cassava cakes, cheese rolls, etc etc… are also amazing and they are just FRESH!!! i definitely recommend this place if you are in the area. You’ve got to get some piping hot fresh pan de sal(bread rolls) straight from the oven! I think the only thing holding me back from giving them 5 stars is that their shop needs a bit of revamping.

This has to be the best bakery that there is in San Diego. The workers are extremely nice. The pan de sal is amazing. Every single time that I come here, the pan de sal is so warm and tasty. The prices are incredible. Seriously, try everything in the bakery at least once and I promise you that you will find something that you will love. I love this place so much that I travel all the way from Rancho Penasquitos just to get a bag of pan de sal. I can’t wait to go back.

Bread deluxe makes the most delicious, moist, and addictive banana bread I’ve ever had! Every time we buy it, it’s lucky if it makes it past 24 hours without getting eaten in it’s entirety. It’s so good! It’s also only $ 2.99 for a small loaf too. This small little Filipino bakery also makes great pan de sal and you can always find it warm just out of the oven. The BF has been coming here since he was a kid and it’s been his to go place for pan de sal ever since. You can also get your puto, bibingka, and ube flavored pastries here. For some reason, they stopped making siopao but it was really good too. Unfortunately, it is right next to Seafood City, so parking can be horrible. But trust me, it’s worth the hassle!

Ok, I am a white guy so forgive me if I spell some of the things wrong here lol. My wife is Filipina so of course she is down here all the time despite the fact we live in La Mesa. I make sure she gets at the very least a dozen pan de sal every time she is in the area. It is so good here and it often does not even last a day in our house. The cheese bread is also another must have as well are the coconut ball things… omg so good. I am getting hungry just typing this. Do yourself a favor, on your way out of Seafood City stop in… its RIGHTTHERE!

I really think the pan de sal at Bread Deluxe is the best in town. I believe I’ve tried every pan del sal joint in SD and Bread Deluxe beats them all… hands down. I try to make a special trip at least once a week to get their yummy fresh, hot pan de sal. It has the perfect balance of sweet and salty goodness. Even when the pan de sal is cooled down it’s still good. I do have warn others that parking is terrible. Plus you gotta watch out for the uncles that are just hanging out in the car not in a parking spot waiting for the aunties shopping in Seafood City.

I’m not normally a fan of Filipino baked goods, maybe the occasional taisan or ensaymada from Red Ribbon every so often. However, when the smell of freshly-baked pandesal drifts around this store, I can’t resist! Although they normally have prepackaged pandesal on the main shelves: here’s a tip. If you ask the cashier for some of the freshly baked stuff from the back, they’ll be more than happy to fill a bag for you. For about $ 2 a dozen, you can’t beat it. Go home, take a warm pandesal, slice it open, and place a couple slices of cheddar cheese inside and you’re in sweet cheesy heaven! This little store is dwarfed by the Seafood City right next to it, and access to it suffers from the same crazy parking problems. I probably wouldn’t make a trip all the way out here solely for pandesal, but rolled into a normal errand to Seafood City, it’s a no-brainer.

I love love LOVE coming here after Seafood city. Before walking into Seafood City, you can smell the fresh Pandesal that are just baked! I can’t help but stop inside here first and then head to seafood city. I came here with my family when I was younger when I didn’t live in SD yet! So coming here we’d always buy a HUGE amount of pandesal, and you can tell we weren’t from there since we bought so much, I was sort of embaressed because it seems we can consume that much in a day or something. Which we probably can since the pandesal is just OHSOGOOD and huge and fresh. I love it! They also have other fresh baked goods here! I love getting hopia but their always out, they say usually in the morning to afternoon it’s gone, and I’m a night person so I usually go in the evenings. Oh well! Still! I recommend this place if your craving for some good fresh somewhat sweet pandesal! yummy! talking about it makes me want some now, makes me wish there was a 24hr pandesal bakery. HAHAH. PARKING btw, sucks. I HATEIT! it’s always busy espicially ONWEEKENDS!

Bread Deluxe is awesome… it’s a great price for the quality of breads and other snacks they have there. The owner’s are super friendly and so are all the employees. Their cheese rolls are to die for. Everyone should try it out.
