I’ve been coming to this place since they’ve opened and the food is always fresh and delicious! Introduced to my family and now everybody comes here~best Salt n Pepper wings around, so I order trays for family occasions. Come and check out this restaurant, I’m sure you will not be disappointed and love it like all my family and friends do! The eggplant is delicious, too, one of my all time faves ;) The food always comes out FAST!!! You never have to ask when it’s coming!

Took my father in law for his birthday last weekend. The place was busy for a Sunday morning. You can tell already its good if people don’t mind the wait. We started our order with fried chicken wings, fried calamari, large sweet and sour fish, large steamed fish, Mongolian Beef, Honey Walnut Shrimp, OMG I forgot the rest lol. The portions are pretty big. The fried chicken was soooooo crispy and so delicious. Fried Calamari so crispy also. I would skip both of the fish dishes. Mongolian Beef was good. Honey walnut was okay. It was pretty satisfying. A must try again soon.

The GF took me here for some late night grubbing. She swore they have the best salt and pepper wings, which I have to agree. I wasn’t to keen on the seafood hot pot. No flavor. And texture was spongy. The noddles was the shit! I could eat that again all day errday.

Yay for awesome chinese food! I love their chicken wangs more than Royal Mandarin. I prefer the lighter batter. DH disagrees — we’ll just have to agree to disagree. Anyways, we’ve only tried pork chop and kung pao chicken one night but it was enough to put this place in our rotation of restos. I’m excited to try other dishes on our next visit! :)

This restaurant has been around for a long time and the food quality is always on point. I have been eating here for years. It is more of a treat now-a-days because we live further away. However, whenever we are in National City, it is mandatory that we order some take-out for our trip home. The Mongolian beef or chicken are always favorites, along with their house chow mein. They are always busy when we go but the wait time is short. Ordering take-out is super fast too. Great food and great place!

I initially came here because I heard they had really good salt n pepper chicken wings. Unfortunately when I came, I was by myself and learned that you cannot get them as an appetizer and must get a full order of 8, so I didn’t get them. Instead I got a lunch combo with Beef and Broccoli. It was very good, one of the best I’ve had. Meat was tended, sauce was rich and fried rice was super flavorful. I’d definitely come back.

OMG. Why have I not written a review for this? Hands down the best Salt n Pepper Chicken Wings you will ever have in your life!!! Every time I’m in the area I stop by. I usually only order 3 things from here, it’s all I need. Salt n Pepper Chicken Wings Beef and Noodles Egg Drop Soup Done. I do want to try more dishes, but it’s so hard when I can’t venture out. I know what I like. Next time I’ll replace my beef and noodles with another dish. I’ll try. If you haven’t been here, you are missing out. Stop waiting and order their wings ASAP.

Food is tasty, salt and pepper chicken wings are the truth! Service is pretty good. Overall you can play it safe with this spot, portions are big and prices are reasonable.

This review is still for to-go orders only. I lowered my rating for Golden Chopsticks because the last time I ordered their Mongolian beef, the beef was kinda bland. It seems that they didn’t put enough seasonings. Also, what made me so dissatisfied was because they put TONS of onions & chives and very little of the beef slices. I love onions & chives, but I think it’s not good if they put TONS of them while so little of the beef, remembering that the name of the dish is Mongolian BEEF.

I came here yesterday for dinner per Maridel A.‘s recommendation(check out her elite review). She is the queen of the restaurant, as in everybody knows her name and all the dudes have a crush on her. The staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered the honey walnut prawns $ 14 and the cream cheese wontons $ 7.99 both were delicious! They give generous portions and there’s more than enough for a few more meals later. I love how they refill soda here, other Chinese restaurants are cheap and they’ll give you a can so that they don’t have to refill. I’m not sure if he was a manager or server but heck this guy that works there was cute with his hair slicked back! Hi! They have plenty of seating and large tables, perfect for family-style dining. Thanks for the suggestion Maridel A. I loved it!

#1CHINESERESTAURANTINSANDIEGO! I can’t stress it enough. My SD fam took everyone here for my cousin’s graduation dinner and they were able to reserve tables for a party of 20+ last minute. And no, it didn’t mean they weren’t busy at all. We arrived half an hour later and our section was all set and the waiters were ready to cater to us. 3 orders of the SALTEDPEPPERCHICKENWINGS, 2 orders of the PORKCHOP, 3HOUSESPECIALFRIEDRICE, 2 types of CHOWMEIN, 2 orders of CALAMARI, 2 orders of MONGOLIANBEEF, 3 orders of COCONUTWALMUTSHRIMP… and many dranks later. Don’t ask how much the bill was but I can assure you, EVERYONEWASSTUFFED&&BEYONDSATISFIED! I like the garlic vinegar they give you. Also, chili oil is bombskiesss! The waiters were so nice and seriously kept asking who wanted refills on their drinks. I can’t wait to come back and visit my SD fam. This is the spot to go for small or big parties. It’s right by Seafood City, across Jollibee.

I have to say these guys are fast even when they’re busy, which is almost every time I walk in for a Togo order. Fast is satisfying as well as full filling, this is all in my personal opinion. They do have an enormous amount staff though. Parking is never a problem. Now, their food, I’ve really only tried their salt and pepper fried chicken, house chow mien and wonton soup. They’re all pretty good, fried chicken seasoned well outside, but once you get into it, the chicken is pretty plain. Good enough for me, fills me up.

For the chicken wings only. Why is the hype for the salt & pepper chicken wings here so real?(505 reviews, and read the ones on the wings!) Why does the hype even exist? Why did my HS friends visiting UCSD always make it a point to drive all the way down to National City to get their hands on these chicken wings?! These are the questions that my friend and I pondered upon as we were eating this bland chicken. Yes, the skin had some flavor but really… it didn’t. I think we kept trying to convince ourselves that there was some flavor, because, I mean, 500+ people cannot ALL be wrong… right? And though I’m not the biggest fan of friend chicken in the first place, my friend loves chicken wings and tried a bajillion places! Have you heard of San Tung in SF? Now THAT is fried chicken done well. Honestly, I would have preferred WingStop’s lemon pepper and original hot wings. Don’t think I’ll be back. BUT if I do, I will order the other dishes instead(but really, I’m also going to try the wings one last time before I give it up altogether).

MUSTGOHERE This is mine and my familys favorite, go-to Chinese restaurant. They have the BESTSALT&PEPPERCHICKENWINGS. I don’t care what you order. you MUST order these! It’s crunchy and deliciously salty on the outside and moist and luscious on the inside. We always order at least 2 – 3 orders of this when we go! Other notable things on the menu: Sweet & sour pork; the perfect combination of saltyness and sweetness Fried Rice; delicious and has that«just off the wok» taste All the employees here are super sweet and helpful and have always been accommodating!

Cute little place, parking lot is big but it is surrounded by other restaurants and shopping centers as well, so parking can be hard to find. Our server was great, excellent customer service skills, super nice and funny. He didnt state his name though, sadly. The food is ok. Ordered the beef and noodles, salt and pepper chicken wings, honey walnut shrimp, and cream chesse wontons. I love cream chesse wontons and their wontons are not soo creamy. Ehh. Their honey walnut shrimp is good, its alright. And their wings were real crispy and pretty dry, not so juicy. I like my wings a little juicy, people have preferences though.

It’s one of those places that has«eh» customer service and the location is in an «eh» place and the environment is kinda«eh», but the food is SOOOO good that you don’t care at all about all of the«ehness»(it’s a word…). I always order three things for sure: BBQ pork fried rice, shrimp soft noodles, and salted pepper chicken. With these here entrees, you won’t be disappointed. They have party trays also! We always order from here for parties. They can be kinda expensive, but they’re a good size. And being Filipino, party trays are a huge blessing to our gatherings. Lol.

This is a good quality Chinese restaurant. Menu is simple and w/pictures. Portions are very generous. Food quality is good with the exception of the won ton soup. Prices all very reasonable. Recommended.

When I was younger, my parents would take us to Golden Chopsticks for special occasions. As far back as I can remember, this place has been a very popular spot in National City, along with Royal Mandarin Restaurant. Since then, this restaurant has received a new look, got rid of the small koi pond, and expanded the restaurant to accommodate more customers and provide a better dining experience. This parking lot tends to be pretty full throughout the day so be patient and cautious while driving around. I came here with my sister and we ordered cheese wontons, 2 small bowls of rice, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and Kung Pao Chicken. I know their service is super quick so after we placed our order I began my timer(just out of curiosity to see how quick). LITERALLY, 4 minutes later we received our cheese wontons, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and 2 bowls of rice! HOTDAMN that was fast!!! The Kung Pao Chicken came out a little later, but we weren’t complaining at all.(FYI: These are entrée dishes that you can share amongst 2 – 4 people.) We did notice that their prices have increased slightly. The servers here are really nice, they were very attentive, and they made sure we received everything we ordered. While we were waiting to receive our check, one of the servers was being silly and made his coworker give us extra fortune cookies. I joked back and said we better get good fortune now since we had so many cookies. I will continue to support this place and recommend it to other people. This is THEGO-TO spot in National City so if you’re in the area, do not pass this place up. FOOD — Cream Cheese Wontons 8 pcs($ 7.50): Nicely sized wontons with a proportioned amount of cream cheese inside. Don’t forget to dip it in the sweet chili sauce! — Honey Walnut Shrimp($ 14.50): You HAVE to order this! That’s all I’m going to say. — Kung Pao Chicken($ 9.50): Huge amount of food on this plate. Chicken, peanuts, green onions, and chilis throughout. In my opinion, this is not spicy at all(your tastebuds may vary), but I like it this way.

Literally this place has some bomb Chinese food ! My family goes all the way to national city just to eat at this place ! They are really known for their salt and pepper chicken wings which are really tasty ! We even order their chicken wings and mongolian beef as party platters when were hosting birthday parties, family get-togethers, etc. Service and Ambience is good. They constantly come and refill your waters and ask how everything is. Ambience is clean especially after their remodel they did they now have many seats and tables as well. I definitely recommend this place as a more family-style eatery. Only because the plates they serve are made to share with everyone at the table. You will definitely bring home some leftovers! The food my family and I always order are their sizzling rice crackling seafood soup, seafood pan fried noodles, mongolian beef, salt and pepper chicken wings, house fried rice, and their honey walnut shrimp. ALLREALLYGOODDISHES I RECOMMENDANYONETOTRY ! This place definitely doesn’t disappoint. They even accommodated a huge party of 15 of us when our family walked in to eat dinner. We never really had a problem with seating late either. Definitely recommend this place for their amazing chinese food ! Once you try this place you’ll never go back to your americanized panda express haha

I’ve been eating here since 1999. I use to spend a lot of time in the South Bay and came by here every chance I got. I’m not going to write a long drawn out review because I can sum this place up in just about a sentence or two. «If you think there is better, more authentic, Chinese cuisine to be found in San Diego, guess again. There is not. Not on Convoy, not anywhere in Kearny Mesa. Come down here, try this place and be ready to be amazed. Yes, it is that good!».
