Food not that bad for a fast food place. I like their chicken just they still don’t convince me on their rice. Over all I didn’t wait long for my food and the food was good unfortunately last time I had bad customer service. Good place to eat just need too work on some kindness not my fault you have a bad day at work

The employees of this restaurant are very rude they always forget something in your order worse place

We used to eat here alot when we were on the go, usually would order the bowls. But lately the food didnt taste the same, it had a weird taste to it. The last time we ate there my husband also got sick, since then we havent returned.

My two last experiences at this El Pollo Loco eatery has been nothing but below satisfactory. The adding of baby shrimp and over cooked mexican chorizo on top of mexican rice that wwas dry does not constitute a paella dish. The classic salad which I ate today the chicken was over cooked and dry. It was only paletable when adding a dressing or pico de gallo with lemon juice. The lavatory was also grosly ignored and unclean. I would not recommend this Pollo Loco franchise in National City. There are better Pollo Locos in San Diego County.

This Pollo Loco has good customer service and the restaurant is super clean. Even the bathroom was the cleanest i’ve seen in a fast food place.
I gave this place 5 stars, hands down!

Meeeeh. Not a fan. Got a $ 5 bowl combo, wasn’t impressed. Didn’t finish it. Won’t be back. Fast service though, building looks nice.

This is the worst restaurant I’ve been too. I came with my kids and husband for an afternoon dinner and our kids had to use the restroom. I felt like I was getting timed. The employee was waiting outside the restroom and she didn’t even walk in to use it. Then when I order my food I was getting rushed to order. She has no patience at all! I’ve worked in this industry before for 4 years as a supervisor and a cashier I can’t stand when people have a dirty look and bad attitude. Once we got served it was horrible. I got 8 pieces of chicken and I felt like I got more bone than meat. The salad was tossed like if it was counted. I probably would of enjoyed eating at Mc Donalds but I came here because it’s a lot healthier. Never coming back again. They need a better crew and better people to serve the food with passion.

I love El PolloLoco! Under 500 cal menu is fresh, delicious and helps me lose weight! Avocado Salad w salsa (no dressing) is 7 weight watcher points and under $ 7.

Amazing customer service and they really try to get your food out fast! My fav is the sauce bar. I could drink the whole thing!

Although there is practically zero ambiance at the National City store (Santee is better, BTW), the food here is surprisingly tasty. There can be no denying that.
The lettuce salads are crisp and fresh, and contain a small amount of house dressing, and a few crunchy bits. More dressing might be requested.
The chicken has a nice, well-​seasoned crispy skin, the black beans are perfectly seasoned, the vegetable sides are nicely steamed, and even the (non-​Mexican) french fries are pretty good.
Those warm, moist flour tortillas really complement the meal, as does the salsa bar. Or, you can have corn tortillas, if you prefer. I especially enjoyed the avocado salsa, which you don’t find everywhere.
Chocolate churros came with my meal. .. That was nice. . Very fresh and moist.
There is a self-​serve soft drink dispenser with many choices, and other drink dispensers, as well. Something for everybody, that’s for sure.
Service has always been very fast at this location, and very accurate. It’s a good place to satisfy your fast-​food fix. It’s A-​OK, and WAY better than that ‘McD’ place, or just about any hamburger fast-​food joint.

I’m going to give this place one star because the food is actually good however, their customer service is AWFUL. I was there yesterday and my mother ordered some 500 calorie tostada which actually was a wrap tortilla not a tostada, when she asked the «asst manager» to exchange it for a tostada, she went on a ten minute rant about how the order was a tostada and she couldn’t exchange it for a real tostada. She also went on to say that as the assistant manager «she wasn’t anyone» she didn’t have power to just give us an exchange or a plain tostada with nothing in it. To me, my mother and the rest of our family it looked like an open wrap tortilla, it wasn’t even crunchy just like a flour tortilla! Now can you tell me why the assistant manager who was in charge at the time argues with a customer for ten minutes and then charges the client $ 3 more to switch the order for a tostada? I call it POOR, AWFUL customer service!

The ladies at the drive in were really nice. Smile and all was genuine. The chicken is so tastey!!! Try the black bean bowl. It is so good and everything goes so oooooooo well together. You have to try.

You know, in this day and age where there’s so many negative people and all they do is write BAD things, I had to give this little place a shout-​out. The chicken there is affordable and they are FAST. Whether you order inside or via the drive-​thru, they work hard. Many times they have workers that don’t speak English well so it’s a little hard to understand, but it’s no big deal. They make up for it with their kindness and awesome service. They always offer extra salsa or utensils and if you take a little extra time trying to decide what you want they are patient.

Came here with my family for lunch, after hearing good things about this place after years It’s safe to say that the food quality has sure changed.

I love this place

We all know El Pollo Loco’s radioactive yellow chicken is Awesome, I wrote this more because the ladies that do the drive thru at this location. They are the nicest fast food employees I have ever dealt with.
really hope they’re getting paid accordingly, because they could work in any customer service field. They must be getting free chicken, only way they could have such good employees, or maybe its the bad economy and they used to work at a 5 star hotel or something.

It was my first time eating here and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It’s grilled chicken for the health fanatics out there. The chicken was delicious, not over seasoned and crispy skin.
The workers there were really friendly. One of them went around with a tray filled with toothpicks, mints, wet wipes, salt and pepper. As much as they went around to see how their customers were doing, they should check up on how the restroom is looking since it’s just for one.
OH, they have sweet potato fries! :D and I shall leave it at that.

One of my favorite places to grab a quick bite to eat. Chicken is awesome! best part is that the food isn’t heavy or greasy. They did run out of chicken once. haha Love this place.

I really enjoy El Pollo Loco’s flame grilled chicken and found it to be quite flavorful and moist. I think thier chicken offers a healthy alternative over the standad fare of greasy fried chicken loaded with salt and mega calories.
What brings El Pollo’s ratings down somewhat are thier mediocre side dishes. The watered down salsas and bland tortillas are less than impressive and the beans were just OK but I would definitely come back here again for the chicken.

i rolled here for some free chicken. complimentary 2 piece with tortillas. you couldnt beat that while being banker playing monopoly
the line was pretty long but not as long as it was when i came back a few hours later. ive ate here before but mi familia doesnt like to come here cause i guess they were served up some raw ass chicken one time like 10 years ago.
