Wonderful Gallery and space as a whole. Their permanent exhibits are wonderful, but the rotating one are even better. With that, and free admission — this is a must-see in Nashville, located right on the heart of the beautiful Peabody campus.

This is a hidden gem that I don’t believe most people in Nashville realize is here. It is open to the public and a beautiful building with very interesting exhibits. I have been several times and have yet to be disappointed. Did I mention it is also Free Admission!

Who would have thought that Vanderbilt University has a art gallery that’s open to the public and the admission is free! I art gallery is housed inside the Cohen Memorial building by the Peabody Esplanade. The structure is neoclassical and beautiful like many of the buildings here on the campus. The current exhibits include the avant-garde Polish theatre posters with underlying political message as form of propaganda particularly during the communist occupation when communication was heavily censored. Artists try to depict their frustration and pain by creating images to get their message across to the public. The posters became colorful island oasis during the dark and dreary times. Another exhibit is «From Tomb to Temple» of ancient China with funerary images and dynastic figurines and sculptures. There are also various ancient Greek and Egyptian relics on the first floor as public display. This is a really great art gallery! So happy that it’s here!
