A nice little coffee shop in a fun part of town. It is FAAAAAR less crowded than Fido right up the street. My chai was delicious and the baristas were super friendly.

Brrr… the weather turned and we needed to get the child out. So we stopped for hot chocolate and a chai latte. The staff was quick and courteous. The drinks were tasty and the space was welcoming and clean. Since we were already chilled we went hot not cold, but love that they also serve ice cream. Quick in and out so we could get back to shopping…

Don’t you hate it when you walk into Fido and the line wraps back all the way around the store? Yeah, me too … and on those occasions, I walk over next door and get the same cup of coffee from Hot & Cold. This is a neat local place with a nice variety of hot/iced coffees and dessert items. Even though it’s in bustling Hillsboro Village, there’s rarely a crowd, making it a great place to relax, meet up with friends, or study. The downside: it’s a pretty small shop with only a few tables and limited seating, so it’s not ideal for large groups, or for students hoping to settle in and get work done for several hours. Also, the wi-fi comes from Fido next door, which means it’ll be shut off during peak hours(read: all the time) when Fido’s management wants to gently nudge customers to GTFO.

What an awesome place that will make everyone happy. They serve coffee and pastries from Bongo Java and ice cream from Las Paletas. Having already had both, I tried their Bing Bing and it was amazing. They have more traditional style flavors and then more Americanized flavors. Or you can create your own! Such a great find!

Bing Bing matcha flavour is actually really really good. I’m not sure what this place is famous for I just came here for some dessert after dinner with a friend and it was delicious! I think a lot of people like their scones as well. A few locals came in to purchase scones for the AM even at 7PM at night.

Calling all people who love amazing desserts! TRYTHEBINGBING. It is some of the best stuff I have ever tasted in my life. I went back twice within 24 hours for more. It’s a shaved ice dessert but it has seriously big taste. I got the espresso one and the cookie dough one and it blew my mind. Also, the chai popsicle and the avocado popsicle were fantastic as well. I haven’t yet tried their beverages but look forward to doing so.

Homemade Popsicles??? YUM! This place is a MUSTDO while in Nashville! Inside is super hip. Not to mention their popsicles are delicious. I had a Nuetella popsicle that changed my life. I would buy these in bulk if I could. It was so good! I would recommend to anyone who is in Nashville!

I was walking around Nashville and ended up in this coffee shop without even realizing it. It was so perfect I just was drawn to it. I expected just a cute coffee shop but was surprised when they had Popsicles or as they call them, Paletas(spanish for popsicle)! It reminded me of walking around Colombia with my grandparents to buy paletas and I was so excited. Needless to say, the paletas made of real fruit did not disappoint. I also got a latte, nothing too special. Overall a great place to stop for a nice treat!

The Iron Goddess Tea is a gentle reminder that we are living in a time in which society has lost faith in God and that we must therefore find a new basis for value or turn towards nihilism. Highly recommended!

Hot & Cold takes a page out of German engineering — do one thing, and do it well. They do two things: coffee and popsicles, and they do them both well. Well, technically, the popscicles are made by Las Paletas, and they are out of the world. And the coffee is from Bongo Java, and they are inside the world. So together, H&C is the entire universe in a tony little East Village-esque coffee bistro. But seriously, if you are craving for something cold on a warm day, try their popsycles. The lime popcycle is like solid lemonade, and Las Paletas ought to file a patent for it, and ship it to the space station or something.(how is that word spelled anyway?)

I went here for the ice cream which was above your typical hipster weird ice cream flavors type of a place. The people who worked there were super chill and more than happy to let you taste as many flavors as you wanted. My favorites were the pumpkin with biscotti and the goat cheese with cherries. I got both and didn’t regret it! You can get 1 scoop of 2 flavors for a little above $ 5. The ice cream was nice and soft and not super heavy creamy yet not as light as gelato. There was a sorbet option, pear Chardonnay, that was delicious. Next time, I will definitely try the Popsicles that many moms brought their children in to try when I was there and they seemed to be devouring! I did 4 stars just because of price.

I couldn’t decide which dessert I wanted to try while in Nashville: a famous paleta or Jeni’s Splendid. Lucky for me, Hot & Cold combines them both and I didn’t have to make the tough choice. I ordered a salted caramel paleta dipped in chocolate and a small sweet potato & marshmallow cup of ice cream. The paleta was fabulous and exactly the way all Popsicles should taste. My husband also ordered a cup of coffee and we dipped the paleta in the coffee. It was fantastic! The ice cream tasted like my favorite flavor of all time – pumpkin – so you know that I loved the hell out of it. I couldn’t believe ice cream tasted that good. I even asked my husband to get me another cup and he looked at me sternly and told me I was done. In that moment, I felt like a small child that was told no and couldn’t accept that as the answer. I begged and pleaded and even tried the puppy dog face and he wouldn’t budge. Next time, I’m getting 2 scoops and not allowing anyone to tell me no. Don’t miss Hot & Cold. It’s one of my new favorite places in Nashville!

Fantastic little sweet shop located in the heart of Hillsboro Village. Parking is tricky, but the experience is great. Serves Jeni’s ice cream and Las Paletas – cannot recommend the avocado paleta enough… so fabulously delicious. I tend to get coffee at Fido, but have heard good things about the hot drinks at Hot & Cold. I work near the area, and this is a great go-to for desserts after lunch.

The chocolate dipped paletas make this one of my favorite spots to go at night! They have other options like Jeni’s Ice Cream and bongo java but why bother when you can get a dipped Las Paletas! The chocolate that they dip it into is so rich and smooth, makes the perfect shell over the perfect Las Paletas popsicle. I’ve tried their coffee before and it was good, but seriously, why bother when there’s ice cream and popsicles! Haha! I’ve also had the Bongoleta which is a Las Paleta dipped into an espresso shot, it was pretty great too but I’m a sucker for them dipping it! Maybe I should get them to dip it and then the espresso shot! Hmmm… The service is usually okay, a little snooty at times but I can get past that!

Great, friendly and patient staff! My friends and I were here deciding for a long time on what Las Paletas flavor we wanted. Best purchase I’ve made in Nashville yet. I am so obsessed with the Las Paletas! I’ve tried a bite of the watermelon, grapefruit, pineapple blackberry, raspberry lime, and avocado. In my opinion, the watermelon flavor is the best. I am a huge watermelon fan and the taste is so true to the fruit but better! They also serve Jeni’s ice cream and a wide range of drinks that I have yet to try. It’s a cute coffee shop but you can’t really tell that they serve these delicious goodies unless you really read the tinted window.

Delicious Coffee. Done. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream. Yes. Las Paletas. Got it. Quality goods. Yup. 4 stars just for that! We were in the area and it was a chilly day. Looking to warm up a bit, we came across Hot & Cold. Very cute coffee shop. Love the local art work on the walls. As the store is named, this place offers Hot beverages and Cold desserts. How lucky is Nashville to have this place?! My favorite ice cream and paletas under one roof. Employees are friendly and quick. Store is neat and organized. Napkins, honey, sugar, lids, and coffee stirrers are on a side table. I ordered the Mocha and it had a deep flavor. B got the Hot Chocolate and absolutely loved it. It comes with your choice of a homemade marshmallow. The marshmallows are from The Bang Candy Company. Another plus! Their marshmallows are excellent. I love that Hot and Cold brings some of the tastiest local treats under one roof.

I ordered a chai latte and then asked, «Is it possible to have that iced?» Because I’m an idiot. The name of this establishment refers to the option of getting anything on the drink menu hot or cold. duh. This is the café connected to Fido( ), the popular brunch café next door. And this is where you’ll be directed instead if you’re at Fido and looking to order only a coffee/pastry, and have no intent of waiting on a giant-ass line for it. The iced chai was not bad. I also got a CRAZY delicious pumpkin bread. Holy cow — not too sweet, perfectly moist, perfectly pumpkin-y. It was one of the best pumpkin things I’ve ever had, and this is after my first meal of the day was also an overwhelmingly caloric dessert thing rather than real food. I almost always prefer savory over sweet and my body still said yes, yes, yes. They also carry the very coveted Jeni’s( ) and Las Paletas( ), but pumpkin cake is closer to real food than ice cream or a popsicle, right? Worth a visit as a tourist? It’s convenient to have Jeni’s and Las Paletas in one place if you’re looking to try both. But like Fido, it’s otherwise not a destination — just a great café with nice treats that is happily not too hard to find in most cities.
