When we first walked in, I thought this place was really cute! We came here for lunch with a larger group of friends. The seating is a bit weird and we ended up at a larger table by the window. Unfortunately, it was also quite cold outside and there was a strong draft from outside… However, the food left something to be desired… I split the chicken and biscuits and the BLT with the fried green tomato with a friend. The biscuit was dry, as was the chicken. I put a bit of butter on the biscuit, but everything still tasted really dry. The BLT was fine. I thought that they were a bit skimpy on the fillings. Our server, though, was really patient with us, even though we came in a big group and kept changing our minds!

I was here during restaurant week and paid $ 20 for an entrée and dessert. Pretty good deal I must say. The steak frites and egg is what I got. Steak is juicy, tender, and tasty. The fries that go with it are oh so good too — skinny fries that are salted just enough. I got buttercake for dessert– not too over the top. It is so sweet but the ice cream kinda balances it out. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the food here and would plan to come back.

I have a hard time imagining a better breakfast than the Chicken biscuits. We were seated with no wait and had great service. Perfect brunch.

Came here on a recommendation for the buffalo feathers and beer selection. It was early on a Thursday, about 4:30pm. Well before the crowd. Both the chicken feathers and beer selection were good, as was the service. Very good, friendly, attentive service. The other food items we ordered were just ok(verde dip & grilled chicken sandwich). Décor of the place was interesting — dark gray throughout. The atmosphere definitely improved as the crowd picked up.

Nothing good to say about this place except that the wait staff was very nice. Coffee was bitter, bread on the Philly cheese steak was terrible, omelet was incredibly buttery, cinnamon toast barely had any cinnamon on it. Overall, underwhelming and would not recommend.

I was hesitant after some of the not so nice reviews, but they were one of the few dog friendly patios around town so we took a chance. I was not disappointed. Our waitress Ashley was so sweet and checked on us multiple times. She brought some water for our dogs. I ordered from the brunch menu and my husband got a spinach shrimp wrap. I stole a bite of his side salad and wrap and they were both great. My egg/sausage biscuits were great as well. But the best part was 2 for 1 Tuesday on drafts and wells. We enjoyed the whole patio to ourselves while sipping on our multiple drinks.

Came here with my Mom, fiancé and our two dogs while on vacation. If I could give stars for separate categories, I would give service 5 stars. Our waiter was fast and attentive and right gave our dogs their own bowl of water right away. They are very pet friendly(on the patio)! I had the grilled salmon entreé and I was disappointed at how TINY the portion was. I work in the restaurant industry and understand portion control, but this was SMALL for $ 16. I would say the piece of salmon was only 3″ x 1 – 1.5″. I replaced the mashed potatoes with soup beforehand so, yes, all that was on the plate was the salmon, but it shows you the reality of the amount of food you’re getting. I’ve seen salmon bigger on salads before. To be fair, the waiter did tell me that it’s the same portion as the salmon caesar. They did offer brunch/breakfast all day which is a nice touch.

Quick service at the bar. Shared the rio roll– delicious spinach wrap however too much tortilla, not enough fillings and quite small for a wrap. Can’t beat the price though… And the cheesy grits are good. I like mine a little cheesier but still quality. Great atmosphere.

Very poor first and only experience at Jacksons. It was a busy Saturday right at lunch time. We walked in to find no entryway/hostess stand and stood uncomfortably in the middle of a busy dining area until the hostess arrived and told us we could sit at the bar or wait 30 min(she was seating a party of 2 as she was explaining this to us, which was odd). We sat at the end of the bar which doubles as a server stand/hostess area where 3 servers were polishing silverware and rolling napkins. They were complaining of needing a stiff drink rather which I found rude. Once our food arrived we were let down. We had a chicken Caesar salad and a Reuben sandwich. Everything tasted bland but we did eat it. We noticed 2 other couples at the bar struggling with receiving the correct order and the long wait time on food. This place was packed though! People seem to love it, so maybe we were missing something but regardless, we won’t be back.

The breakfast potatoes with Swiss cheese and have been great had it not been swimming in oil. I like the concept but the execution was the issue. Same for the chicken and biscuits. The chicken was thick and tough and lacked seasoning. The biscuits were way too small for the chicken proportions. the server was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is hip with nice music and local art on display.

Service was fine. People were polite and food came very fast. Biscuits and gravy were average. Nothing really special in my first experience here but would come back again to try’s one of their other brunch items. A bit pricey for average though…

Pros: Good location, good 2 for 1 happy hour, nice patio and nice waiter. Cons: Awful food. Oddly, our waiter made a big deal and asked us move after we were seated because he thought a 4 top table was too small for 3 regular sized people. He moved us to a spot directly in the sun that was super hot. So we moved again and got stuck in a corner. Super weird. The food wasn’t good at all. I had a grilled cheese(for lack of vegetarian options) and it was a $ 9 plain sandwich bread kid’s sandwich. The fries weren’t good either and not seasoned. My friend had a buffalo fingers salad and he wasn’t impressed as well. Said it tasted like something from Wendys, all processed and cheap ingredients. My husband had a burger, which he liked, hence the stars. I wouldn’t order food from here again. Bummer!

They ½ price bottles of wine on Sunday’s have made this place a weekend must! My favorite choice is the proseco… For only $ 12! Love the outdoor patio and the fact that it’s dog-friendly. Most of my experiences here have been good ones. My last visit I went earlier on in the evening than usual and the patio was pretty busy. The service was a bit slower than usual, but our waiter Andrew was very apologetic and even gave us a discount on our check! We definitely appreciated his kindness and will certainly be coming back. On Sunday’s, I recommend going after 8pm to bypass the dinner crowd. I also love going to see a movie at the Belcourt and then walking down for drinks afterwards.

I’m not a huge fan of their food, although I haven’t had much of it. The bistro burger was a little dry tonight. BUT, I love this place after the sun goes down when the crowd thins out a bit. ESPECIALLY on Sunday’s when they have half priced bottles of wine. We go almost every Sunday. The outdoor patio + a cheap bottle of prosecco and maybe an appetizer(the spinach dip is great) is a relaxing and very enjoyable night. Our waiter tonight, Andrew, was stretched a bit thin but took great care of us and we ended up getting our bottle of prosecco for free. And the cookie dough egg rolls are REALLYGOOD.

Overall, just okay. I went here this evening per a coworkers suggestion. She was thrilled with to inform me that Jackson’s had a mojito special on Mondays. I enjoy quality discount liquor drinks, so I agreed to try this establishment. The restaurant itself was hot. Too hot. I understand that it’s hotter than hell outside, but a little AC would be nice. Our server wasn’t very attentive. We ordered drinks and didn’t see her for 20 minutes. When she returned with the odor of an ash tray, I immediately knew why disappeared. I ordered the chicken salad panini with fries. The fries were cooked to perfection. The panini was a little gross. However, I tried some of my friends salad and it was amazing. It had fish on it, I believe tuna? The drinks were good and the food was okay. I would try Jackson’s again for brunch. That brunch menu looked great.

Another old mediocre relic in Hillsboro Village. They don’t change with the times they refuse to reinvent themselves and they also are not classic nor timeless, so they are just waiting to die convalescent like here in the Village. Rent will continue to rise and their profits will continue to fall, their product is why, basically they don’t have one. Mediocre food at best. Example: sister store that they used to have on West End had a excellent burger they called it the«barros lucos» when they tried to move that sandwich to the menu at Jackson’s it became a disgusting joke. Their wine list is not inventive, noncreative not intelligent, like the person didn’t know how to even use Google. I mean you could at least go and steal someone’s ideas for a few good wines from a decent place like Josephine. This will be another real estate space that I will be happy to see filled with new talent!

Ended up here on a very rainy night in Nashville. We got a couple seats at the bar and ordered some drinks. The bartender was very friendly and talkative. We got to meet some locals who were great as well. We ordered the cookie dough egg rolls, which were good, but I felt they could be better. They were a little hard to cut to eat. But our drinks and conversation and company was great.

Great place in Hillsboro Village to grab dinner on a Sunday night OR brunch on a Sunday morning!!! There is a tradition of offering half-price bottles of wine in Nashville on Sunday as it is illegal for liquor stores to sell it. Well, Jackson’s has a great wine selection and a killer menu. Last night, $ 12 for a bottle of Muga Rosado from Spain(60% Garnacha, 30% Viura and 10% Tempranillo) and an off-the-menu fave of mine: Seared Ahi Tuna Reuben. Very affordable top-notch meal. Brought a friend to share the wine. PSGREAT outdoor seating and DOGFRIENDLY!!!

I love this place. I’m a little confused to see the less than happy reviews. I guess I’ve just never had that experience here. I live in the Village and this is my go to brunch spot. The chicken biscuits are completely to die for good. They’re one of my favorite things I’ve eaten ever, actually. They bread and fry a chicken breast, cut it in half and place it on two fluffy, amazing biscuits. The whole thing is served with honey butter, made with local honey. It’s sooooo good. I also had some really tasty hand battered sausage«corn dogs», some wonderful cheese fries and their awesome desserts. The cookie dough egg roll was great, but the butter cake was really amazing too. Like wow I couldn’t stop eating it. Anyway, I’ve always been seated quickly and served in a really timely manner. Their coffee is awesome and I love the seating area near the garage doors that open up to the outside. I would take friends there from out of town without hesitation.

Deep. Fried. Cookie Dough. Egg Rolls. Order these — I promise you will not be disappointed. When I was in college, I used to eat here with my friends and sit at a table, and the service was decent. Now when I am in town for business, I sit at the bar and I always have the same female bar tender with the short, trendy hair cut and immediately regret it every time. She acts as if I am inconveniencing her by placing an order and checks on me infrequently even if the restaurant is not busy. As far as the food is concerned — I always order a torrado. They are basically just burritos with a different name. So if you like burritos, you will probably like these. I have never heard anyone complain about anything on the menu so the food gets two thumbs up from me.
