I have to agree with the previous poster regarding the service at this shop. I came in looking for boots. I saw a bunch in the window, stylish yet with a shock-absorby kind of sole, so that looked promising, and I know Clarks to be a good brand, so I went in to try some on. I was the only patron in the shop on a Friday evening. I asked to try on 4 different pairs(styles). The pair that I liked the best was too snug in my normal size so I had to try one size up, but in that one the zipper hit my ankle in an awkward way on both feet(not just one foot). I asked the salesgirl if they had another pair in my size to try, even in a different color, but they didn’t. She kept trying to convince me that they would mold to my legs with time and fit better, but I wasn’t going to drop a couple hundred bucks to find out and then potentially be stuck with a pair of boots that wasn’t comfortable(sniff, sniff… do I smell a commission?) Then she said they could send another pair right to my house(actually a nice service if you’re sure that you want something), and I could return it if they still didn’t fit, but again, I didn’t want to tie up a couple hundred dollars in a purchase that I wasn’t sure would be right. When I tried on another pair, it was too tight along the calf to zip up, though it was actually big in the foot(I don’t have particularly bulky calves or anything), and she came over and started trying to zip it up further! I had to say«Ow ow ow!» for her to stop. She said, «Well, it looked like you had so much room in the foot…» Yes, but the foot is not the calf. Again, desperation to sell something was driving her to injure a patron, apparently. Her attitude got more sour as I continued to try things on; I guess the prospect of commission was looking bleaker.(Well, if your store restocked and had some other sizes on hand, the potential for me to buy things might have been greater. As it was, several things I was interested in they had«like no sizes left in» according to her.) At one point when I was trying something on and walking around, she was leaning on the desk, chin on elbows, butt sticking out in the air. Professional look there! I didn’t end up with any boots, and I was put off by the service. It’s a toss-up whether I’d return. I like the shoes here, but there are other stores that I’d prefer to give my business to because the clerks have less attitude.
